Eyetoy Antigrav W/ Camera (PS2)
3 Star Review   By member yikez - Jun 30, 2006

Strengths: Inovative design. Awesome graphics. Good replay.

I really enjoyed this game. It is cool how the eyetoy works great with the tracking and movement. Highly recommended game. This will bring many hours of fun for the whole family.

Eye Toy Antigrav
3 Star Review   By member mojave - Jun 2, 2006

Strengths: Unique use of Eye Toy, a game that will actually give you a bit of real physical exercise

Weakness: A bit touchy to control, need plain background for Eye Toy camera

Eye Toy Antigrav is really the only full-fledged game for the Sony Eye Toy peripheral - all the others are collections of minigames. You control a hoverboard in this futuristic racing game by moving your head - left and right to steer and up and down to jump or duck. You can also use your arms to grab special power-ups and to do combos. Like the more conventional SSX series, there is a combo system. In the case of Antigrav, though, the combos are done with head/left arm/right arm movements instead of button combinations. There are only 5 courses and the combos can get very difficult to hit in later stages. Also, as with all Eye Toy games, less than ideal lighting or background conditions can cause greatly deteriorated gameplay. Overall this is a fun game that can give you a little exercise to boot. But it could certainly be improved and is recommended only if you can pick it up on the cheap (less than $20 with camera).

EyeToy Antigrav
3 Star Review   By member shipwreck1 - May 31, 2006

Strengths: Unique control, fun gameplay

Weakness: Not much depth, EyeToy can be picky

EyeToy Antigrav is the first EyeToy game that doesn't involve your image actually being displayed on the screen. Instead, you control hoverboarders by your body movements. It's a pretty fun concept and it generally works pretty well once you have the EyeToy setup correctly. Unfortunately, the game itself is not very deep and it can be beaten relatively easily. It's still a fun distraction and an interesting take at what the EyeToy is capable of. Give it a shot if you want an afternoon or two of unique gameplay experience.

Eyetoy Antigrav (PS2)
3 Star Review   By member sanjuro. - May 11, 2006

Strengths: Innovative Concept; Simple, Active Gameplay

Weakness: Hit-or-Miss Eyetoy detection, Only 5 courses

Being a fan of Harmonix's other games(Amplitude, Frequency, Guitar Hero) I decided to check out this departure from their typical music-based game. Eyetoy Antigrav is a simple, hoverboard racing game that makes extensive use of the Eyetoy peripheral. The controls in the game are exclusively mapped to your movements in front of the camera and to Harmonix's credit it is for the most part a fun, new experience. You move and wave your arms to navigate your player throughout a track performing jumps and tricks along the way. The Eyetoy's detection of your movement can be questionable though, although this primarily stems from lighting conditions. Aside from this the game only features a handful of courses, which is a shame because when the game works it IS a lot of fun.

a fun eye toy game?
4 Star Review   By member t260 - Mar 21, 2006

Strengths: original concept

Weakness: lighting problems with eye toy

the concept for thsi game is very original, as you have to move your body around for the eyetoy. There isnt any game like this. My only complain is that the camera doesn always pick up your motion.

good exercise
4 Star Review   By member bauerpower - Mar 21, 2006

Strengths: good graphics, innovative input controls, makes for a good workout

Weakness: not enough modes, tracks

Antigrav is an innovative game as it requires no controller to play. It comes bundled with an Eyetoy camera, which requires you to use your body to control the game. The game is a pretty good excerise as you have to lean with your body and jump at specific moments. Only problem with the game is that it can be a bit shallow in terms of content. Theres only about 6 tracks and 2 modes, racing and trick mode. The game requires you to play each race 3 times, which I assume is to lengthen the game length. Still, this game is worth getting just for the Eyetoy camera and the use of the camera.

Workout!
4 Star Review   By member yuy104 - Mar 8, 2006

Strengths: Interesting variation & use of Eye Toy

Weakness: Lighting problems

I couldn't find a copy of the game only, so now I have 2 Eye Toys in the house. Anyways, the game is different from the other Eye Toy games, it actually involves the whole body. It was a good workout for me too! Lighting could present a problem because there was always a variation every time I turn on the game. I'm looking forward to getting EyeToy Kinetic as well

Eyetoy Antigrav w/ Camera
4 Star Review   By member jenacooney - Dec 5, 2005

Strengths: Awesome graphics for boys or girls and they don't even know they are working out. I'm buying this for my nephew to get him into shape and play an awesome game also.

Weakness: Kind of pricey but a lot of fun

I think this is a great game for boys and girls to work out and get exercise while they are playing a video game. It rocks and a lot of endurance to play.

Different and entertaining
4 Star Review   By member kandlg - Oct 28, 2005

Strengths: Novelty of controls, entertaining game

Weakness: Loss of control, how long will the novelty last?

The game itself isn't as developed or advanced as most of the good games out there for PS2. This is quite simply a hoverboard race game with tricks like any of the SSX games. The novelty and weakness is of course the controls. When it gets it right the game is a blast and fun. When the camera loses it's lock on you it's frustrating to get it controling correctly and back into the game. The lighting in the room has to be very good. Overall it's a fun game though not very deep. The big question will be how long the novelty of the control system lasts. It's also entertaining to watch people jump around like an idiot.

Strengths: Fun for the kids (and adults). Get to play a game as well as getting exercise too.

Weakness: Need more light sometimes for the eyetoy.

I purchased this for my two sons as well as two other games that will work with it. They have a blast with this as well as me too. Gives you a workout moving around trying to do the different stunts you can perform.
