Thrillville
4 Star Review  GameZone - Nov 28, 2006

For as long as I can remember I have always enjoyed roller-coaster simulation games. I can still remember the very first one I played and how basic it is in comparison to the games out now. In that game you couldn’t even ride the coasters you built, and you only knew you did a good job if the “test” crew was practically throwing up on the ride. Since that time there has been many advancements in the simulation genre, least of which is the graphics. Now once you design a coaster you can actually “get on it” and take it for a spin yourself. It was only a matter of time before this very popular simulation game was made available on console games and its name is Thrillville.

THRILLVILLE
4 Star Review   By member warlion - Apr 24, 2008

Strengths: great variety and selection of mini games

Weakness: soundtrack can get repetitive

THRILLVILLE is a amusement park building simulator and mini game collection for the xbox. Your character has been hired by your uncle Mortimer to help oversee and maintain his chain of Thrillville amusement parks. Fortunately, your uncle will deal with the more boring aspects of the business, such as building up profits and money management. Your duties are to take care of 5 parks total, where you begin with one and can unlock the other 4 as u play the game. Said duties are comprised of 5 categories: building new rides, games, guests, upkeep, and business. Each park has a total of 25 missions apiece, and u will be kept busy updating the new rides and making sure the park guests are happy and satisfied. What makes this game great is the vast collection of 22 mini-games it contains that range from a variety of themes like shooter, arcade shooters (like Capcom’s 1942) , dungeon crawlers (like Gauntlet) or even go karts and bumper cars. The first person shooter games are pretty in –depth for a mini game, as they have collision detection, and you can even target specific limbs and head shots , which will net you more points and knock off said limb, making your enemies weaker and less effective. There are also a great variety of weapons to choose from , like machine guns, twin pistols, and shotguns. Overall, I really enjoyed this game and highly recommend it to everyone.

3 Star Review   By member sarma81 - Nov 4, 2007

Strengths: Solid game design; Excellent AI

Weakness: Some of the minigames can be boring; stripped down version of RollerCoaster Tycoon

Thrillville is a game where you're in charge of building an amusement park, much like the RollerCoaster Tycoon series. However, this game isn't as serious and intense as the Tycoon series. It's more of a casual game that involves a series of minigames. Some of these minigames are very addicting and super fun, while some can be downright boring. If you're looking just to pass some time with a casual game, I'd recommend this game. If you're looking for a more serious theme park management game, go with RollerCoaster Tycoon.

More than Just Coasters
4 Star Review   By member iron44eagle - Jun 28, 2007

Strengths: Lots of extras, customization

Weakness: Complicated coaster builder

When I purchased this game I thought it was just a Roller Coaster builder, it turned out to be quite a different game. In the game you take over theme parks that are in disrepair and you fix them up and run them. The game has many different theme park management aspects like marketing, ride placement, and customer relations. You get to ride all of the rides in the game, you also get to play a whole bunch of mini games like trampolines, bumper cars, and some arcade games. The track builder for the roller coasters was a little harder to use than I expected, but there are a bunch of pre-made coasters to choose from. Overall the game is enjoyable, especially for people who love theme parks

Thrillville is a amazing game!! You can build your own rides and actually ride them, but you have to do the entertainer thing, it bites. Anything can happen when you are doing that. From Carnival rides TO stall of food and games. VICTORY HAS TO BE SUCCESS!!!!
