Star Wars The Clone Wars
4 Star Review  GameZone - May 19, 2003

Leaning against his gnarled cane and casting a troubled eye at that massive army of armored troops, Jedi Master Yoda says the words he knows means doom for all the galaxy: “Begun, the Clone Wars has.” Once again, Lucas Arts puts us deep in a galaxy far, far away in Star Wars: The Clone Wars where it is up to you to stop the veil doings of the Separatist movement bent on controlling the galaxy. And, if going against those foes weren’t enough, you can also go up against opponents online. May the Force be with you, trust me, you’ll need it.

Star Wars Clone Wars
3 Star Review  GameSpy - Apr 25, 2003

Released late last year for the PS2 and GCN, Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been ported to the Xbox with the significant addition of Xbox Live support, and the same relentlessly mediocre shoot-'em-up action. Unfortunately, LucasArts wasn't also able to address a couple of lingering technical issues that held back the earlier versions from greatness -- issues that are slightly more glaring on the Xbox's killer hardware.

Star Wars Clone Wars
2 Star Review   By member CStech43 - Jul 4, 2008

Strengths: Play in the Star Wars universe.

Weakness: Lacks depth, average Music, story, quirky on foot gameplay.

Star Wars Clone Wars plays like other Star Wars games in that you get to control a figther plane (and other vehicles) and on foot. You get to play as different characters throughout the game to give it some variety. Clone Wars plays like something you would see at an arcade: very simplistic and nut much depth. It's good if you want to blow off some steam, perhaps up to and hour at a time. The game does wear on you if you try ti play for extended sessions. The graphics are ok as well as the sound/music. Some rocket explosions sound fake and the light saber doesn't seem to be loud enough. When playing in a vehicle like a fighter plane, the controls are easy to use and destroying enemies are pretty intuitive. This is the best part of the game as you will play several missions where you need to destroy certain targets to complete the level. The game suffers however when you take the role of one of the characters in the Star Wars Universe and play on foot. It just seems--clunky. The L and R trigger acts as a strafe which is very awkward in 3rd person mode. The attacks with your light saber have a limited range (and only one move) except for a light saber throw. You can also use your jedi powers to destroy targets with your mind, but is somewhat limited because it has a meter that resets each time you use it. The gameplay is very simplistic and not much though is needed. Very little strategy involved, you can pretty much get past any level on foot by brute force. I recommend this game to hardcore fans of Star Wars (I myself like Star Wars but you won't be seeing me at one of those conventions) and perhaps even children who will appreciate the simplistic, arcade feel the game has. I rate this game 2 out of 5 but a 3 for the above mentioned crowd.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Xbox)
4 Star Review   By member shrike424242 - Feb 14, 2006

Strengths: XBL gameplay, different multiplayer modes, Ep 2 vehicles

Weakness: None apparent

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is an attempt to capture the gameplay of the Clone Wars, between the second and third Star Wars movies, on the Xbox. The game looks pretty good, with all of the vehicles being recognizeable. The gameplay for single player is diverse enough, though XBL-capable multiplayer gives the game some additional playability. Shooter fans and Star Wars fans should look into this one.

Clone Wars for Xbox
4 Star Review   By member Biglesworth23 - Feb 5, 2006

Strengths: + Strong graphics for the time of it's release + Interesting multiplayer modes + Live online play

Weakness: - Controls, especially with some of the vehicles, is a bit off and floaty - Can be quite difficult at times

Let's start off by saying this is not the best Star Wars game of all time. Far from it. However, this game (originally released for the GameCube) is still worth your time and money. Why? Well, it's fun. It's mindless, shooting everything that moves kind of fun. It also has some pretty good and different multiplayer modes that will keep you playing for a long time. Also helping that replay value is the Live online play with those multiplayer modes. There are some downsides to this game, however. Controlling some of the vehicles (like the tank like thingy) is a bit of a chore, and can feel very floaty at times. Some mission objectives are difficult, especially in terms of escorting a craft or vehicle to safety. Overall, I'd give this game 4 out of 5 stars. If you like Star Wars games, I'd pick this up, especially if you can find it for a good price. It's fun, has great multiplayer, and if you like a challenge, that's here too.
