Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003
4.5 Star Review  GameZone - Nov 18, 2002

This year EA Sports has really outdone themselves with a slew of fantastic sports titles from NHL hockey to NBA basketball and thankfully they have not forgotten other sports events such as NASCAR racing. Still it was the golf fans that were beginning to feel left out--that is, until Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003. So dust off that putter, sports fan, it’s time to play with the pros. The game offers a large number of game modes and challenges. There is Tiger Challenge, Scenarios, Stroke Play, Match Play, Skins, Tournament, Online Events, Practice, Speed Golf and SkillZone.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003
4.5 Star Review  GameSpy - Nov 12, 2002

People often complain about sports games because they are released every year with minimal improvements yet are sold at full price. Further backing the argument, every once in a while a series makes such a drastic change from one year to the next that you wonder why it doesn't happen with every franchise. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 is a sterling example of this, providing a guiding light for all golf games to come.

The best console golf game around, but it's still not quite perfect.

Strengths: Courses and Analog Swing Controls

Weakness: Putting

This was my first experience with Tiger Woods PGA Tour and I was not disappointed. The left analog swing movement is flawless. The only trouble I had was putting, but the caddie tips and lengths helped quite a bit. The courses were beautiful and playing through a season was fantastic. By the time I had finished, I was ready to take on Tiger Woods himself!

Strengths: Great gameplay, nice graphics

Weakness: No online play, steep difficulty of later courses

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 is an excellent golf game that can be found for an extremely low price now. This is a very solid golf game that features an analog control scheme that works very well. It is a very intuitive way of swinging your clubs that requires you to pull the analog stick down for your backstroke and up for your forward swing. The distance and accuracy of your swing depends on how far back you swing the club and if you swing in a fluent and straight motion. It's actually a lot easier to just pick it up a play it than it is to describe it. The graphics in the game are nice and there are a good number of courses to play. Unfortunately, some of the later levels are ridiculously difficult and unrealistic. There are a ton of unlockables in this game, so there is a lot of replay value and overall it's just a lot of fun to play. I think this game holds up fairly well to the newer Tiger Woods' games and if you are not overally concerned with having online play, I think this game is a great bargain at this point.
