Description
In Just Cause, a tropical South American paradise is about to implode as numerous factions vie for power. Playing as Rico Rodriguez, an undercover operative working for a top secret US government agency, players are tasked with overthrowing the corrupt government of San Esperito. Just Cause offers the freedom to tackle your assignments however the gamer wants: playing the island's factions against one another, inciting a rebellion among the masses and building alliances with rebel forces and drug cartels. Gamers will be able to perform amazing over-the-top stunts; jump from vehicle to vehicle, base jump, skydive, parasail and more. The island can be explored by land, sea and air, as gamers have at their disposal one of the most varied and exciting array of vehicles ever seen in a video game.

4 Star Review  GameZone - Oct 23, 2006

One of the best features on Xbox Live – for Xbox 360 at least – is the ability to play demos of games soon to be released. I first heard of Just Cause through Xbox Live Marketplace, I downloaded the demo, and was instantly hooked. Just Cause’s demo was an invigorating mix of espionage, government overthrow, and a complete oversight of the laws of physics. I was concerned that with all the extra features to spice up the gameplay, the main story and mechanics of the whole game could be shallow. After experiencing what the retail version has to offer, I have found Just Cause to be a uniquely action-packed videogame despite its faults and shortcomings.

Just Cause
3.5 Star Review  IGN.com - Sep 18, 2006

Just Cause has all of the makings of a great sandbox game. It's got a vibrant, open world with a multitude of environments to explore. There are a huge number of side quests to keep you occupied along with a slew of vehicles and weapons to aid you in your quest to see everything and blow it up. The trouble is that the deeper you delve into the game, the shallower everything gets and the more prevalent the bugs and faults in the game become. There is fun to be had with Just Cause, but it doesn't last long enough to warrant more than a rental.
