Cars
4 Star Review  GameZone - Nov 3, 2006

Last June Pixar released what would go on to become the biggest animated movie of the year – Cars. Cars tells the story of Radiator Springs, a small town that's been abandoned for big city excitement. The basic premise isn't all that unique, but its inhabitants couldn't be more original. Every living, breathing character in the movie is a car. These cars are just like people. They can talk and interact in ways you would never expect. Their story, written by the same geniuses that gave Toy Story and The Incredibles their unforgettable scripts, is as hilarious as it is heartfelt.

Good game for the kids
3 Star Review   By member sanjeevkgarg - Aug 6, 2008

Strengths: Easy to play, there are some simple routes. Themes match pretty well with the movie.

Weakness: There is slight lag in the car's reaction to the controls. Some times the progress of the game is not saved.

My son loves this game, and that is because he loved the movie. The game is really easy to plan and easy to get started. The most irritating thing has been that some times the game progress and points earned are not saved.

Cars
4 Star Review   By member mojave - Jul 31, 2008

Strengths: Very enjoyable kid-friendly racing game that makes good use of the Pixar characters

Weakness: Could have done without the stealth portions

Cars is one of the better kids' movie tie-in games. It makes excellent use of the license. You start off (as Lightning McQueen of course) in Radiator Springs and can explore the town at will stopping in glowing areas to trigger different race events. Win enough of these and other areas near the town will unlock. There is some decent variation to the events including standard vs. races, full-on NASCAR-style races on an oval track, car chase events, and stealth missions. The stealth ones are the worst of the bunch and can be quite tedious (and actually somewhat difficult). Most of the game will be accessible to children though some of the tougher races (and those stealth missions) may be a bit difficult for them. Fortunately you do not have to complete every event to finish the game. But getting everything completed adds a bit of challenge to those looking to get all the achievement points and the game is enjoyable enough that it really can be an all ages experience.

It's for the kids
2 Star Review   By member Rig85 - Dec 5, 2007

Strengths: Sandbox game. Great for the kids.

Weakness: Too easy.

If you are looking for a bit of a challenge in your game, this isn't the one for you. Graphics and characters are nice. The races are just too easy for anyone that's not a kid. But that's probably a good thing, as children will really enjoy it. Pick it up if you want something fun for the kids to play.

Cars, the Game
3 Star Review   By member greggworldwide - Aug 18, 2007

Strengths: Fun to Play. Has "Compact" mode for younger ones. Great Open areas to just drive around. Same characters you know and love from the movie. They also added some Great new characters.

Weakness: Feels easy. Controls are cumbersome.

This is a great car / racing game for younger kids. Adults can still have fun and enjoy playing with the kids on the game. Same Great CGI (animation) and voices, as from the movie.

Great movie and great game.
4 Star Review   By member natalie7227 - Mar 21, 2007

Strengths: Very fun to be able to just fool around and drive just about anywhere. Like the races.

This game is a lot of fun to play especially with younger children who don't understand but can still drive the car. Great little challenges and enough to learn on the game.
