FIFA 08
4 Star Review  GameZone - Oct 9, 2007

EA Sports’ FIFA series hasn’t been at the top of its game recently, getting outplayed every year by Konami’s acclaimed Winning Eleven series. However, EA Sports has got Winning Eleven’s number with this year’s fine entry to the FIFA series. Whereas previous entries to the series on next-gen consoles have been spotty at best (often devoid of many big features offered in the current-gen iterations), FIFA 08 offers a ton of new teams and many new features, making it the first truly next-gen iteration of the franchise. The first big change that FIFA fans will notice is the sheer number of new teams added to the roster.

Great Game!
5 Star Review   By member djmussell - Aug 4, 2008

Strengths: Excellent graphics Finally added more teams Great new be a pro mode

Weakness: Steep learning curve Difficult to juke

I have been playing FIFA since 1999. They have definately stepped up their game for 2008. The graphics are great, the new be a pro mode is fun (kind of hard though) and they FINALLY added more teams. Be warned though, this FIFA is harder than FIFA's in the past. It will take youa while to figure it out, but it is well worth your time!

Best Fifa EVER!
5 Star Review   By member sheik124 - Jan 4, 2008

Strengths: Graphics, teams.

Weakness: None really, the gameplay is rather slow.

I rented the game for one week, then had to buy it. EA really hit the spot with FIFA08, I love the new manager feature. The graphics are excellent, although it is kinda hard to top FIFA07's. Definitely better than the new PES.

fifa 08
4 Star Review   By member smullan - Dec 28, 2007

Strengths: appeals across the board to young men

Weakness: expensive

My grandson had this game as number one on his list for Christmas. It was difficult to find because it had been sold out at some of the stores. Fortunately, because of the internet, I was able to order it at Circuit City and pick it up locally. It's great to give a gift that I knew was going to be appreciated.

Game could be a lot better
1 Star Review

Strengths: good graphics and realistic play

Weakness: gameplay is not that smooth and too many fouls get called all the time

When ever i go after the ball when it is loose you cant change direction. Also a lot of the fouls called in the game are total crap and i know what is a foul and what is just calling a sissy foul and thats what they do in this game a lot. I play soccer and ref and dont call every little thing that happens like what they do in this game. all calling fouls does is stop the game and i stop play in the game almost every 30 seconds.

Great graphics, okay realism
4 Star Review   By member raptor2679 - Nov 7, 2007

Strengths: Number of teams, graphics

Weakness: Realistic play (comparatively)

I have been playing the Fifa series for the last few years and each it year it gets better. And by better, I mean the graphics. Now that it is finally on Xbox 360 (Fifa 2007 doesn't count), the graphics are crisper and more realistic. The details on each player's face and resemblance to the actual players themselves is impeccable. EA has always done a good job with the graphics and it shows in 2008. Fifa 2008 also includes many teams that were lacking in the Xbox 360 version of Fifa 2007. In terms of gameplay, EA continues to slowly improve but it still falls behind that of Winning Eleven. That is not to say that gameplay isn't good; it's just not as good as Winning Eleven. However, with the dual stick dribble controls, Fifa is definitely getting better. If you are fan of soccer and don't really care about being realistic and want the full experience, get Fifa.

Good soccer game
4 Star Review   By member thoe99 - Oct 21, 2007

Strengths: plays realistically

Weakness: weird AI a few times

This is my first soccer video game I've bought, and overall it's an excellent translation of the real thing. It plays realistically and the controls are natural and smooth. There were a few moments where I saw the AI do some weird things like dribble right out of bounds with no one going after him, but other than that I like this game.

Good soccer game
4 Star Review   By member thoe999 - Oct 4, 2007

Strengths: smooth controls, realistic gameplay

Weakness: weird AI issues at times

This is the first soccer game I've really played and it seems to be a great translation of the real thing. There are a few weird things that go on at times, like the computer dribbling the ball straight out of bounds when no one's really gaurding him, but other than that, the controls are really smooth and flows naturally.
