Description
EA introduces an all new original property from the studio behind the hit horror game, Dead Space. The game is based on part one of the medieval epic poem, The Divine Comedy, commonly referred to as Dante's Inferno, by Dante Alighieri. The dark fiction gave birth to the Tuscan Italian dialect and is widely considered the work that has defined the western world's contemporary conception of hell and purgatory. The poem tells the tale of Dante who journeys through the twisted, menacing nine circles of hell in pursuit of his beloved Beatrice.

Dantes Inferno | Xbox 360
3 Star Review  productwiki.com - May 31, 2010

Dantes Inferno is a third-person action adventure game developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts in the first quarter of 2010 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Playstation Portable. It is based on Dante Aligheri’s epic poem, ‘Divine Comedy’, and in fact involves playing as Dante, a veteran of the Crusades. The player must dig into the pits of Hell in his quest to save his beloved Beatrice from Lucifer’s grasp. In many ways, Dante’s Inferno is kind of like a third-person version of the popular top-down game Diablo. Whereas users in Diablo controlled his/her character from above, Dante’s Inferno allows for a more realistic experience by following the character of Dante from behind. In fact, users describe Dante’s Inferno as a cross between God of War and Diablo. Dante’s Inferno is played via a GamePad. Features Third-Person Action Adventure Based on ‘Divine Comedy’ by Dante Aligheri Save the ... PROS: (1) creative storytelling though CGI, anime-like animation and in-game sequences (2) good mix of puzzles, platform gameplay and fighting - keeps players from getting too bored with monotonous gameplay (3) upgradable powers by absolving or punishing enemies once defeated (4) relics - collect and carry relics to give yourself various additional powers (5) polished and detailed compared to the majority of games on the market ... CONS: (1) often way over the top - takes violence and nudity in video games to new exploitative heights (2) gameplay has been seen before though the God of War series - nothing new or equally exciting / well done (3) enemy and level designs become less inspired as the game progresses - painful to play by the end (4) puzzles are generally lame / boring time wasters
