Devil May Cry 4
4.5 Star Review  GameZone - May 5, 2008

Xbox 360 owners who also happen to be Capcom fans have plenty to be thankful for seeing as the next Resident Evil game will make an appearance on Microsoft’s console and now the once PlayStation 2 exclusive, Devil May Cry, brings the fourth game to the Xbox 360. Devil May Cry 4 is the latest chapter in the continuing adventure that began with the son of Sparda and believe me when I say that this is, by far, one of the best games in the series. Loyal fans of the series have followed Dante as he took down demons and an assortment of hell’s minions but in Devil May Cry 4 he takes a supporting role.

Devil May Cry 4 | Xbox 360
2.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Jun 23, 2009

Devil May Cry 4 is the fourth installment in the Devil May Cry series, and is simultaneously the first DMC game on next-gen consoles, and the first multiplatform DMC. From the beginning the game sees you taking on the role of Nero a character that looks almost exactly like the regular hero Dante as you battle the usual assortment of monsters and solve the usual assortment of puzzles. And in no difference to previous entries in the series the game retains its RPG elements as the collected orbs let you upgrade your characters weapons and abilities. The biggest gameplay difference from previous DMCs is Neros Devil Bringer that lets you grab and throw enemies around performing different kind of combos than Dante is capable of. In true DMC fashion, Nero isnt the only character you control as once youre finished the main quest of the game, you then take on the role of ... PROS: (1) Satisfying combos (2) Somewhat interesting story (3) Boss fights are actually fun to play compared to Ninja Gaiden 2 (4) Pretty easy game on Devil Hunter Mode (5) Decent upgrade system keeps you earning new moves and combos ... CONS: (1) No weapon variety with Nero (2) Repetitive environments (3)"Gyro-blad" system is really annoying (4) Story is pretty nonsensical (5) Repetitive enemies

DMC4
4 Star Review   By member dlee00 - Jun 28, 2008

Strengths: Graphics

Weakness: Limited custom buttons settings in the options menu

I've never been a big fan of the DMC series. Played the original on the PS2 and it was a decent title. Skipped 2 and 3 because there was a much better title of its kind on the market (Ninja Gaiden/Ninja Gaiden Black). I've decided to give the latest DMC4 a try after completing Ninja Gaiden 2, God of War series, and Heavenly Sword; it is a very similar experience compares to the original on the PS2, with updated graphic of course. Everything is relatively the same as previous. Why fix when its not broken right? Well, this series is on #4 already and it is time to add some more innovation before it gets really stale. All in all, it's a decent 3D action hack 'n slash game. Fan of this genre (like myself) won't be disappointed. But if you truly want the best, get Ninja Gaiden 2 instead. It's a much more intense experience.

Better than DMC2
4 Star Review   By member zmonkay - Jun 17, 2008

Strengths: Great gameplay, graphics, Nero is actually fun

Weakness: story, could have been a non-DMC game easily

Let's get the bad out of the way first. The story is horrible. There is little to no reason this even needs to be a DMC game other than seemingly tacked on references and Dante as a playable character. I think I would have enjoyed the story more if Dante was a bonus character to play as, and it was a new franchise starring Nero. It starts with promise, build up, and potential for tying into key events of the DMC series. It all dies out quickly though, and even by the time the credits role, you'll be asking yourself "Is that it?". Good thing the gameplay is so darn good though. Nero is actually more fun than Dante in this game, and if you were worried he'd be another Raiden (ala MGS2), don't be. By the time I switched to Dante, it was hard to play without Nero's Devil Bringer (his arm). Still a great action game, but maybe not the sequel fans were hoping for.

stylish action
5 Star Review   By member bauerpower - May 11, 2008

Strengths: great graphics, stylish gameplay, good length

Weakness: bosses repeat themselves, questionable level design

Devil May Cry 4 is the newest addition to the DMC series and the jump to next gen consoles has given the game a great look. Graphics are very good, with real time cutscenes and beautiful environments. The gameplay is what you would expect from a DMC game. The action is stylish and combos can get crazy once you figure out how to exploit the combat system. A must have for a DMC fan or someone who wants an action game

Devil May Cry 4 (XB360)
4 Star Review   By member cotebryan - May 5, 2008

Strengths: (1) Intense, action-oriented gameplay (2) New character offers more interesting combat and puzzle options (3) Great graphics and character designs

Weakness: (1) 50% of the game feels like an add-on pack made of cheaply recycled levels and backtracking (2) Story gets silly and loses direction when you switch to Dante

The first 50% of Devil May Cry 4 is a great experience with nicely designed levels, interesting enemies, great graphics and engaging gameplay. This is the section where you control the new character, Nero. His Devil-Bringer arm opens up new and enjoyable gameplay options and his story is a bit more seriously done. Nero's part of the adventure alone would be a satisfying but relatively short game. However, the developers chose to cheaply extend the game by having you switch over to the series' original Character, Dante, and then retracing Nero's exact steps - only backwards. Dante even fights the same boss characters in reverse order. Dante also hams it up in the cutscenes which trivializes the almost-worthy story. When you finally get to switch back to the more-fun-to-play Nero, he is in some sort of jarring demon world that haphazardly throws you into small arena fights - again recycling level and boss character assets (you fight each boss character a total three times without much of an explanation why they are still around). Devil May Cry 4 is still a great game, but I think it would have been much better had it been developed another year or so to allow for every level to be original for Nero and Dante's paths.

The Devil Comes To Xbox 360...
5 Star Review   By member Antdogg66 - Apr 19, 2008

Strengths: Stunning Graphics!!! Super Smooth Gameplay!!!

Weakness: Storyline

This game has beautiful graphics and Super smooth gameplay and controls.... It flows very well.... The only drawback is the Story... The only gamers that will have a problem with this are the ones that have played through the first 3 games in the series... This is definitely a welcome addition to the Xbox 360 game lineup.

Devil May Cry 4 Review
4 Star Review   By member edhoo - Mar 3, 2008

Strengths: Fun fast paced gameplay

Weakness: Story isn't great

Devil May Cry 4 is the fourth game in the hit Capcom action series. Devil May Cry is all about faced paced shooting and sword slashing gameplay, and it all feels very natural. The graphics look outstanding the it sounds great if you are using a surround sound system. The story isn't the greatest you will ever see but it is entertaining none the less. Overall I recommend Devil May Cry 4 to any action game fan out there.

Devil May Cry 4
2 Star Review

Strengths: Nero is very cool with his demon arm.

Weakness: i din't realy like to play the game in the beginning with Nero.

It had very good graphic but i wanted a lot more sicker tricks and a better looking demen form and they had to put it only for the ps3 well thats what i think.

devil may cry 4
5 Star Review

Strengths: it was a very good game with a good plot and good game play there was also a lot of hype because the third devil may cry was very good so many people wanted to play this one i think it's the best.

Weakness: they could have made more use of the triggers and I think you should have been able to play as Dante first.

I think that devil may cry 4 is better then all of the other three put together. it was also a graphical leap because all of the textures look so much better.
