Microsoft Xbox 360 | 4GB
3 Star Review  productwiki.com - Mar 5, 2011

This Microsoft Xbox 360 (often referred to as the slim version), launched on June of 2010 in North America, is an upgraded version of the original 360 with a smaller form factor. It sports an upgraded 45nm chipset, integrated 2.4GHz 802.11n WiFi, five USB ports, and 250GB of removable storage by way of proprietary hard drive (not compatible with original 360 drives). Additionally, this 360 features a custom Kinect port on the back and an internal power supply. The slim 360s more efficient 45nm chipset allows for cooler operating temperatures and a much quieter operating volume than the classic 360 by way of one large fan rather than two. Its integrated 2.4GHz 802.11n WiFi card ensures that no external WiFi adapter will be needed while its custom Kinect port allows for an easy installation of the Kinect motion-sensing peripheral. Also, the slim 360s slimmer form factor allows for easier storage, especially due to ... PROS: (1) much quieter next to the previous design and all of its minor revisions (2) power brick size has been halfed (3) built-in WiFi (802.11N) (4) Kinect port (5) 5 USB ports - up from 3 on the original ... CONS: (1) proprietary drive enclosure means upgrades or replacements have to be purchased through Microsoft (2) Still uses an expensive, bulky and hot external power brick. (3) Capacitive Touch eject button is nearly invisible, yet far too easy to press. Dont every try to dust the unit when its on or youll eject whatever is in the drive. (4) one time use data transfer cable must be purchased separately - costs $15 (5) glossy enclosure - magnet for fingerprints

I got it for the music, movie and video features
4 Star Review   By Injun10 on HP - Sep 28, 2012

I'm not a gamer and this is my first foray into any kind of game device. I do like the music and video potential of the Xbox. So far I have watched an Xbox live event, a movie via Amazon and linked to my Windows 8 (customer preview) system to stream music and videos. This looks like a winning combo. The controller is easy and intuitive. I have the Xbox connected to my receiver via HDMI and then to my TV. No issues with that. I also found it easy to add the Xbox to my network. At first I was worried that it only supports 100Mbps, but found no problem with HD videos. It does not support .flv format, which I find to be a limitation. As far as music goes, you can't really set up a playlist via the Xbox. I was able to create and save one on the Windows 8 machine and then access it via the Xbox. I think this this should prove to be satisfactory. I also attached a USB drive to play music. Who knows, I may even have to buy a game or two. One thing that is annoying to me is that you can't turn off the sounds generated when you move around the Xbox menu.

Striped down barebones Xbox 360
2 Star Review   By Supertrapp120 on HP - Sep 13, 2012

Me personally I would get a bundle package 360 with a hard drive or one with atleast a hard drive. My opinion on the 4gb version is that it is a replacement unit for those who already have a xbox that quit working or want to upgrade. The cost of adding a drive later is more expensive than the extra 100 for a unit that comes with it. That is unless you buy an aftermarket hard drive. My 2cents. I already had a xbox 360 (MW3 version) with the kinects when I got this one for free.

Great Xbox
5 Star Review   By LeoS on HP - Jul 22, 2012

got it free with a computer purchase, very nice for gaming saved $200 because i didnt have to purchase one. Only limitation is the memory, 4gb is not nearly enough for anything, plus after system files there only 2.3gb left. But overall great product, its the newest version, even came with a free month of xbox live gold.

Pretty good except one major drawback
4 Star Review   By Timmyt on HP - Jun 30, 2012

I am not a huge gaming fanatic so I won't say how great the graphics are or how fast it is, but it does have pretty long load times. The major drawback is that the 4GB hard drive is a complete joke. You can hardly fit any games on it and will eventually have to buy more memory whether in a flash drive or hard drive.

No memory
3 Star Review   By erod81294 on HP - Jun 15, 2012

Nowadays, everything is downloadable, so no one needs to go to the nearest Gamestop to get a new game for his/her 360, which makes the Xbox Live Marketplace all the more used; but without any memory, where can you fit all these games and such? Yes it has built-in wireless and yes it has that cool sleek look, but memory is too important a feature to be overlooked.

Slim and fun, will need extra equipment
4 Star Review   By KSUDoc777 on HP - Oct 21, 2011

Over-all, the gaming system is awesome. Love the graphics on the newer games and they play quickly. My only gripe is you'll be looking at extra cost for kinect, HD cable and Xbox live. The games are quick, but loading new content or saving can take a while. You will need an external hard drive if you're planning on anything more than a couple of games. I am satisfied with this system, much more mature gaming than my previous Wii.

Xbox 360 slim 4gb
5 Star Review   By Rickydale on HP - Oct 16, 2011

Small package with big gaming! This was offered as a free gift to students and I managed to get in on this. I am very pleased and I would recommend this gaming console for anyone. My kids have been Xbox fans for a while and we now own two Xbox gaming consoles. This console goes with us when we travel. It's lightweight and easy to hookup quickly.

Good except for vibration
4 Star Review   By 1009 on HP - Sep 29, 2011

My first Xbox vibrated so bad it had to be replaced. The second one is also vibrating but not as loud. The performance is very good most of the time. I wonder if the "free" Xbox from HP offer - when you purchase a laptop is actually a refurbished Xbox. This may explain the vibrating issue both consoles have had.

5 Star Review   By Darnell0216 on HP - Sep 20, 2011

Another student who got this for free with their PC purchase. First XBox console as most of my favorite franchises are PS exclusive but it's still a decent system. Already got a couple of games for it and have not had any issues. But yeah, the 4GB kicks you in the teeth shortly after getting the system. You'll want to get one of their HDD upgrade options as soon as possible.

I got this free with the PC I ordered and it runs great. The only problem I have with the console is the 4gb memory. If you're gonna play games or download stuff from Xbox Live I suggest getting more memory 'cause 4gb aint enough for me =)

4 Star Review   By aacos71 on HP - Aug 24, 2011

Not For Serious Gamers
3 Star Review   By Champion on HP - Aug 23, 2011

The console is sleek and attractive, personally I prefer the matte finish. But the harddrive is internal and expensive to upgrade. If you would like to save your games and some games require a harddrive, upgrade to the 250 GB 360

Worth it? You bet!
5 Star Review   By khakiphil on HP - Aug 23, 2011

The machine runs very well overall, but the lack of memory (and, thus, lack of backward compatability with the original Xbox) is a bit of a buzzkill. Outside of this one shortcoming the machine is perfect.

free 4gb 360 with laptop purchase
5 Star Review   By Ashl3y on HP - Aug 2, 2011

This was definitely worth the investment. Not only did I get a new laptop that I am pleased with but I also have the xbox 360 now. I absolutely love my 360. For free, what more could you want. Sure, you have to purchase the games and everything separately. But I have about 7 games now that I play on there since I've bought this a few weeks ago and still have plenty of space on the internal harddrive. I will eventually buy an external harddrive for the system but for now it works more than fine. I'm very pleased and highly recommend this.
