Shaun White Skateboarding | Nintendo Wii
1.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Nov 8, 2010

Shaun White Skateboarding is a new take on the skateboarding genre by Ubisoft. It is based on the dual-sport athlete that is Shaun White, of Shaun White Snowboarding. It crosses the park creation genre of RollerCoaster Tycoon and SimCity, with the skateboarding of Tony Hawk and Skate. At the start of the game, Shaun White or the players custom skater is in the middle of an entirely gray and dull city. As the player skates he adds color to the city, transforming it into a skating paradise. As the player does grinds off of certain rails, he can continue the grind in midair, drawing a pipe to create a path to a higher area, a longer rail, or an inter-connected web of trick rails. The pipes can be redrawn at any time. This makes for a huge number of in-game challenges. The progression centers around opening up new areas of the ... PROS: (1) Unique"Shapin" features allows players to extend certain rails and ramps however they please. (2) Straightforward and simple skate mechanics make it easy for anyone to pick up and play. ... CONS: (1) Strangely, Shaun White isnt a playable character until the game is nearly beaten. (2)"Shapin" function is somewhat limited in single player. (3) Bails and physics-based injuries are non-existent as the player instead explodes into grey pellets. (4) Grab moves tend to be a bit awkward to perform/unresponsive. (5) In-game tasks are boring (clear pigeons from these locations) and feel like theyre there to extend the single player campaign.
