The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
5 Star Review  GameZone - Nov 21, 2006

Link spent his youth training, and has spent his life fighting to protect Hyrule. He's seen demons in rainstorms and watched his world turn to darkness. He puts others before himself, hunting for the pieces that can restore the world to its original form time and time again. He doesn't do it because he likes danger, though I'm sure that's why players keep coming back. Link does these things to save the one who this legend is really about: Zelda. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess debuts on Nintendo Wii as an upgraded, gameplay-enhanced port of a GameCube title that has yet to be released.

Twilight
5 Star Review   By member Pookymeister - May 31, 2007

Strengths: Pretty much everything

Weakness: I was hoping for more realistic sword swings with Wiimote

Everyone knows Zelda is one of the best game series ever made. This game is most likely the best one yet, coming in second next to Ocarina of Time. The minute you start the game, you are drawn into the story. If you've played any of the other games, your interest is piqued once Link is asked "Have you ever been to Hyrule?" Then when you transform into a wolf you know things are going to be interesting. The game takes a good 40 hours to complete. Savor every moment, its worth it.

Epic Wii title
5 Star Review   By member botticus - May 3, 2007

Strengths: Long and satisfying, good use of motion control, great gameplay.

Weakness: A couple game-ending bugs

Zelda: Twilight Princess remains the best game to date on the new Wii console. Clocking in at a minimum of 40 hours to complete, it's an entirely satisfying romp through Hyrule. The mapping of motion control to button presses leaves something to desire, but since it works, it leaves a lot of anticipation for the first true Wii Zelda game. Please check out some forums to get the heads-up on a couple game-ending bugs that creep up (mostly involving save locations) that I was lucky enough to avoid, but other than that, no Wii owner should be without this masterpiece.

Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
5 Star Review   By member mojave - May 2, 2007

Strengths: Classic Zelda gameplay spiced up with Wii controls

The fact that this game started off as a Gamecube game and was ported to the Wii so that Nintendo would have a AAA title available for the Wii launch is used by many to put this game down. However, in taking it's time, Nintendo was able to put a level of polish on this game that many other top games lack. This is a refined and solid Zelda game with all you would expect from the series. It also has some truly cinematic and epic moments, which is somewhat new for the Zelda franchise. Whether you play the Wii or GC version, this is a must-play game for any Nintendo fan. However, if you have a Wii don't hesitate to get the Wii version. The Wii controls are perfectly implemented. Once you shoot arrows with the Wii remote you won't want to go back to the old style of control. The graphics return to a "realistic" style from the controversial cartoony Wind Waker style (which I liked as well). While this is no HD game experience, the graphics are excellent for the system and have certainly complement the game well. The Wii features a true widescreen 480p experience, which is more than enough for some stunning visuals. As with most Zelda games, a new gameplay element is added to the standard ones (such as arrow shooting, bomb placing, etc). This new element is the ability to turn into a wolf and enter a dark version of the world. This adds more ways to solve puzzles and adds depth to already deep gameplay. While those who have played Zelda games before know what to expect, this game is also accessible for newcomers. While they may not know some of the secrets (such as the existence of upgradeable wallet and bomb bags) that is not an issue. It would be a great experience if this was someones first exposure to the Zelda franchise.

The Action Adventure Game That Started It All Is Back
5 Star Review   By member FOnewearl - Mar 27, 2007

Strengths: Lots of Extras, Biggest Overworld Ever In A Zelda Game, Long Game

Weakness: Made for the GameCube and ported to the Wii (not exactly a weakness but could have probalby made better use of the Wii's features if built from the ground up for the Wii)

Zelda Twilight Princess is the lastest installment in the Zelda series in 3D and while it doesn't add anything that really differs much from past Zelda games (unlike what Resident Evil 4 did for the Resident Evil series) it does a tremendous job of doing what Zelda as always done well with great level design and an expansive world in which you can explore. Nintendo has been working on Zelda Twilight Princess for awhile for the GameCube and even ended up pushing back the release date for it about 1-2 years and while doing so have been working on also doing up a port for the Wii. While this may mean that this makes the game somewhat of an underdog even more so then other Wii games with visual appearance it makes up for in gameplay in level design. The first thing that should be pointed out is that you won't be doing any sea traveling like you did on Zelda Wind Waker & that the graphics ain't cel shaded like Wind Waker as it goes back to more of a traditional look like both of the Zelda games on the N64. Twilight Princes is a long game that will take most people about 60-70 hours to finish with more dungeons then any of the other Zelda games done in 3D. It should also be mentioned that the overworld is easily bigger then any of the previous 3D Zelda games to the point in which you could probably spend hours upon hours just looking for the misc secrets thoughout the overworld. You also have many different side quests you can do thoughout the game a few of the bigger ones being collecting things such as bugs and poes which are scattered about the world. The dungeons are just as well put together if not better then the previous Zelda games which is always good as I consider the dungeons to be the best part of Zelda as I'm sure many other gamers do also. I think it's also important to mention that many of the things done with the Wii-Mote like aiming work great but you really just shake the Wii-Mote to swing your sword so it's not like you actually pretend to be slicing like you do with Red Steel. I actually think that I had more trouble adjusting to the Wii-Mote (Zelda being the 1st Wii game I played) when navigating the menus. In short I would highly recommend Zelda to everyone unless they just don't like action adventure games at all otherwise it is a most buy game!

Best of the Wii launch titles, IMO
4 Star Review   By member njkrautk - Mar 26, 2007

Strengths: Level design, graphics (relatively speaking), pacing never keeps you doing the same thing for too long. Controls are functional, and make good use of the Wiimote's unique abilities.

Weakness: The puzzles are a bit new, but I can't shake the feeling like I've done this before. Swordplay still scratching the surface of Wii's capacity (I hope).

Aside from Link's sudden bout with ambidexterity (he wields the sword right-handed in Twilight Princess), the biggest change to the control scheme is Wii-swordplay. Unfortunately, the sword doesn't mimic the Wiimote. Instead, wildly swinging the sword feels more like hitting the 'A' button. That shouldn't be too surprising, since Twilight Princess was conceived as a GameCube game. It's too bad, since other weapons (like the bow) translate so much better to the new control system. The action and puzzles are Vintage Zelda, and the dungeons are a tribute to what made this franchise so successful. Don't get me wrong: this is a great game. I just can't help but feel like the Next Zelda game on the Wii (if there is one), built directly around the Wiimote, will be even better. If you own a Wii, there's really no reason not to own this game.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
4 Star Review   By member j4y_7 - Mar 21, 2007

Strengths: Fun, Nice graphics

Weakness: None really

I have never played any of the previous Zelda games, so I can't really make any comparisons to the older games. With that said, I am very impressed with Twilight Princess. Although I haven't finished it yet, I've put in about 30 hours, which should be enough to give me a good grasp of the game. The graphics on a standard 32" television with composite cables are great, so I'm sure they'd look even better displayed over component cables in 480p. The game itself is fun/addicting, & the storyline is pretty interesting. The controls take a little getting used to (as is probably true with most games for the Wii console), but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. There are a good amount of items/tools, but I was disappointed that there are only 2 shields, & 2-3 sets of clothes. I haven't beat the game yet, so I can't really comment on replay value, but my guess is that I won't be playing it much after beating it.

Weakness: Very, very dull and slow start.

Warning. You will find the first to second hour of Zelda increadibly dull. Don't let that stop you from playing. Because after that, it's all down hill. The game really takes off after the initial playing session and turns into another of the great Zelda games. Originally planned for the Gamecube, it was ported to the Wii and the controls work well. Everything is soo much fun to this game but please don't rush it and beat it all in 3 days.. that will be fun but it is much more fun to take the game slowly. THIS GAME IS THE FIRST GAME ANYONE SHOULD BY WHEN THEY FIRST RECEIVE A WII!!!!!!

Link reaches the twilight...and keeps going through the night.
5 Star Review   By member xplode427 - Feb 21, 2007

Strengths: Beautiful, huge, immersive world. The peak of Link's existance.

Weakness: .....

Wii controls are dead on. Link looks better than ever and has his biggest adventure ever. I only scratched the surface of the game hours in and i can't get enough. When Nintendo wants to do something right, they can still do it better than anyone else in the business. Of all the games i've played that came out in 2006, this would be my must have title.

Zelda: TP
5 Star Review   By member trunks982 - Feb 15, 2007

Strengths: Story, graphics, gameplay

One of the best Zelda games ever! This is the biggest Zelda game yet. Over 40 hours of gameplay. The story is great, the graphics are great, and you got to love the huge Hyrule field. You get to control Link in a wolf character. The cool thing is that you swing your sword by swinging motion sensor wiimote. This games has similar stuff from Ocarina of Time. If you are a big Zelda fan, pick this up. You will love it.

To the Triforce!
5 Star Review   By member mirado182 - Feb 15, 2007

Strengths: Links greatest adventur!

Weakness: Are there any?

Got a Wii? Then you really should get Twilight Princess. This has a long play time and it's filled with adventure and fun. When you swing your Wiimote, Link also swings as well! It's great to see Zelda on the top of game still.

The Legend Returns
5 Star Review   By member Tricky02 - Feb 15, 2007

Strengths: The game world is huge and beautifully designed.

Weakness: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Nintendo WII has no weaknesses.

Nintendo created a new Zelda game that is so well-designed that it deserves to be the best in its class. Twilight Princess is a GameCube port. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess,in my opinion, is the greatest Zelda game ever created and one of the best launch titles for the Nintendo Wii.

Zelda Twilight Princess
5 Star Review   By member starbow422 - Feb 6, 2007

Strengths: It is hard to put into words, this is my favorite game ever. It is incredibly fun, dozens of hours of gameplay, challenging, AWESOME BOSS FIGHTS tips it off the scale, A+

Weakness: just 1, it takes 5 heart pieces to make a heart, and the heart pieces are fairly simple to get. Anothier thing is that they renamed the hookshot to the clawshot, but thats not really a weakness.

The greatest game ever, if you have a wii, GET IT! This is the greatest zeldas game of all time. The wii remote rules the game, DO NOT get it for gamecube because that will ruin the game with the dull "Press B to swing" deal. 5 STARS!

twilight princess
5 Star Review   By member brandon92889 - Feb 5, 2007

Strengths: excellent game. if you like the series there is no reason you wont like twilight princess.

Weakness: 5 heart pieces to make a heart container...and its somewhat easy

in my opinion, the wii remote has enhanced the gameplay compared to previous games in the series. using it to aim while being able to walk is an example of this.

Da Bomb!
5 Star Review

Strengths: Evythng! Turn into wolf, plot, story, caracters, and more!

Weakness: A, nothing

Amazing! This game has the best graphics ever! Link is so hott in it! Epona is really pretty. The best part is defeating King Bublin after he kiddnapped Colin. All the bublin warriors swarming about you, slashing them off, ridding the bulbos, Having them refuse the jumps then jump over them, and finally, the jousting showdown with Lord Bulbo himself!

Super FuN!
5 Star Review   By member LinkLuvur - Jan 24, 2007

Strengths: A great game for new and old Zelda Fans

Weakness: NONE!

I loved this game! I got it for Christmas and just finished it! A definante 100 hour play time! The graphics rock, and the storyline is great. One tiny, tiny, tiny little thing i thought was that some of the bosses were a tad easy. Besides that, I give this game five stars!

WOW!!!!! AMAZING GAmE! bought the wii just for this. best game ever, next to supermario world (as was said earlier) and super smash bros. those are classics. hate to say it, but the previous Zelda games... errr... not so good. this one does an amazing job at recompensating for the worthlessness of the first few!! beats Halo any day. ZELDA FTW!

perfect game

Strengths: best zelda game ever.

I've played all zelda games and I have to say this zelda is by far the best among all others. This zelda game gives you the feeling of all the major zelda games if you played them all.

Game of the year
5 Star Review   By member boogieman29 - Nov 29, 2006

Strengths: Everything you know and love about zelda, and then some

Weakness: nothing

This game is just absolutely phenomenal, and warrants a purchase of the wii singlehandedly. It is longer and harder and just plain better than Ocarina of Time, which is hailed by many as the best game of all time. If you are any kind of fan of video games, you will play this.

The greatest launch game aside Super Mario Bros.
5 Star Review   By member fjojr - Nov 27, 2006

Strengths: Everything

Link is back. The longest, and biggest Zelda game ever. The Wii motion-control is the star of the show, don't get the GameCube version. This is THE game to get for Wii.

Enticing and Captivating Game
5 Star Review

Strengths: Good story line, Moderate graphics (with standard cable), progressively harder

Weakness: None so far

Finally began playing the latest Zelda game. For me, this is a first in the entire series. I found that after a few hours of game play and just running around performing little tasks that the controllers really lend themselves to interactive game play. Typically, standard controllers leave me sleepy in the evening....this one definitely will keep you up at night wanting to play more and more. I highly recommend this game for the new Wii
