Really fun game, if just an updated compilation
4 Star Review   By member justin42 - May 30, 2008

Strengths: Great bargin if you don't already have the games; great gameplay; fun take on the Star Wars universe; lots of places to explore

Weakness: Basically just the first 2 games with a few Wii tweaks; not a whole lot new

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is the first Wii game in the Lego Star Wars series, but in many ways it's just a slightly upgraded version of the original 2 games that were released on the Gamecube (and almost every other system!). This is by no means a bad thing-- the Lego Star Wars games are some of the most imaginative (Whimsical?) takes on the Star Wars universe and are a blast to play. There have been a few tweaks added here and there for the Wii (such as light saber control), some of which work, but most serve more as bullet points for marketing. Thankfully they don't take away from the game at all-- they just don't add a ton. The good news is the soul of the game hasn't changed-- they are still a lot of fun. Definitely recommended if you don't already have the original games, but the graphics and sound are fairly similar between the Wii and Gamecube (the Wii is better but not by a whole lot) so if you already have the first 2 games, you might want to rent and see if you want to take another trip through these games. 4 stars-- they're very fun, but it would've been nice to see a bit more in the package. The good news is if you missed out on the original games last time around, they're back, better than ever, and you only need to buy one game!

Lego SW CS
4 Star Review   By member bob330i - Apr 1, 2008

Strengths: Star Wars Lego-ized, mix/match abilities

Weakness: NPC sometimes is cumbersome

Since I have a huge backlog, I hadn’t had a chance to pick up this title when it was two parts. Glad to see that I didn’t miss anything and saved a few bucks only having to buy this one disc. I’ve only just started and so far, it’s a lot of fun. Not terribly difficult at this point, hopefully the difficulty picks up as the chapters move on. Graphics and audio are good (I heard cleaned up from the originals) and the controls are easy to pick up and master. My only gameplay quibble is having to control two characters at a time in certain portions of the game/story. The uncontrolled character (NPC) is fairly useless on their own in the single player mode. Your current controlled character will have to intervene periodically so that your other character doesn’t get themselves killed or stuck.

Good Collection for Star Wars and Lego Fans Alike
4 Star Review   By member hoalong - Jan 14, 2008

Strengths: Lots of fun for the family, good in depth story mode, good concept with light saber control

Weakness: Not fully utilize control, boss battle are fairly dull, frustration can elapse from a lack of accuracy of the control and repetition of game play.

The game is pretty good for Star Wars and Lego fan. It pretty much take all 6 episodes of Star Wars and stick it into one game, from the perspective of lego characters. There are a lot of funs, of course the full light saber control was not fully utilize with the wii sensor motion. Some part of the story can be very repetive and frustrating. Overall, a pretty good buy, especially for a family game.

Great Packaged Deal with Lightsaber Wii Action
3 Star Review   By member danshinn - Jan 4, 2008

Strengths: familiar game, easy to play, creative, includes a lot, no 4 player action

Weakness: graphics not as good as PS3 or xbox360, can be repetative

if you played previous non-wii lego star wars games...a lot will be familiar. it's a good value since this game is the saga meaning it includes both the prequel as well as the classic game together. plus, add the fact you can finally swing the wii like a lightsaber...you have yourself a pretty cool game. it's still limited to 2 players, but this is still a fun game. if you played (and passed) the previous 2 games star wars lego I and II, then this wii game might be a bit boring for you. but if you're a fan of star wars, this is a must pick up game. get this if it's on sale, otherwise a rental. may the force be with you!

lots of fun
4 Star Review   By member marenmaren - Jan 4, 2008

Strengths: fun, cute characters, fairly easy

Weakness: Could be more challenging

This has been a fun game although like many wii games it is quick to progress through the levels. My 2-year-old was frightened by the way characters fall apart and a heart bounces away, so it's not for playing in front of little ones (I guess because it was Lego I thought it might be.) Still lots of fun!

Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga
5 Star Review   By member Medic108 - Dec 15, 2007

Strengths: Great graphics, characters are adorable, many levels and my 5 year old can even play

Weakness: None if you like lego and star wars this is it!

The game is excellent with so many characters and so many levels to choose from in the lego cartoon form. My 5 year old has mastered many levels so far when he uses the lightsaber on a character it breaks apart into lego pieces and he collects the points quickly.

Good game, for the younger Star Wars and Lego Fans.
4 Star Review   By member Louamo - Dec 3, 2007

Strengths: Added puzzles and levels. Wii remote play is good (can use Wii remote as a light saber). Excellent story line and graphics.

Weakness: Older players may find the game boring and the puzzles too easy to solve. You may want to rent it first before purchasing it.

If you have never played the original Star Wars Lego series for the gamecube, you will love this game. This game combines all three previous games on one disc. The game's storyline follows the Star Wars movies as told through Lego characters with a good dose of humor. The game takes advantage of the Wii's motion detection system by letting you swing the Wii remote to have the characters on screen swing their lightsabers. You can also control the lightsaber by pressing the "B" button, which sometimes is easier. The game presents puzzles and challenges to solve and can be played by two people. I play the game with my young son who absolutely loves it. If you have played the original Star Wars LEGO series before, "The Complete Saga" is worth replacing your copies of the earlier separate releases. There are more secrets and levels to make it interesting for LEGO Star Wars vets. Enjoy!
