Description
Sony's critically acclaimed baseball simulation comes to the PSP for another season of grounders, curveballs, and road trips in MLB 11: The Show. The popular RPG-like "Road to the Show" mode returns, with potential aces and five-tool studs beginning with more present skills, and now earning points for less concrete accomplishments such as inducing easy outs or working a good at-bat. "Rivalry Mode" also returns, once again allowing players to track stats as they take on the same team for an extended number of games.

MLB 11: The Show | PSP
3.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Mar 17, 2011

MLB 11: The Show is a sports video game that simulates Major League Baseball, and that was released for the Playstation Portable, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3 gaming consoles. As an upgrade from the 2010 title, MLB 10, The Show features a new Pure Analog Control System that allows players to control their offensive and defensive players, which makes it much easier to hit, pitch, and field. Users can still pitch their buttons, but using the analog stick guarantees a higher chance of a quality pitch. Also included with this upgrade of the Major League Baseball video game franchise is a two player co-op mode for online and offline gameplay. The online co-op includes a weekly challenge in which players can compete for real-life prizes like TVs or a vacation. Another new feature is the option to train and customize an avatar from the bottom to the draft. This was also ... PROS: (1) best baseball game currently available for any system - hard to improve on perfection (2) player models are highly detailed, move realistically (3) analogue controls make game control a lot more intuitive, natural and precise - fun and difficult to master (4) players ratings mean something - poorer players cant be controlled as fast, are harder to get to perform properly (5) great graphics ... CONS: (1) PS3 only (2) not much to add to an already great game franchise - not a huge upgrade over MLB 10 if youre not a die-hard fan who needs the latest (3) background stadium graphics are left behind - PS3 doesnt provide enough raw power? (4) analogue control scheme could be better - batting and throwing from the field feel somewhat disconnected and awkward
