Description
It has been a week since the world has heard from the small Eastern European kingdom of Villtania. As scattered reports from the Villtanian refugees who have fled the country dribble in, the world is hearing a horror-filled tale of devastation by monsters and biogeocenosis experiments summoned for war and world domination by Villtania's leading scholar, and self-described sorcerer, Raimond.

4 Star Review   By member fever - Sep 15, 2008

Strengths: 2 different games in one Good graphics and art style 2 player co-op

Weakness: No story mode in Reload fighting game No game sharing

The art style of the game looks great on the PSP. The sprites look really clear and with the two kinds of camera modes, zooomed in widescreen or traditional aspect, gives the player more options to appreciate the art. The addition of a 1 or 2 player co-op beat-em-up game is totally awesome, and combined with the games traditional 2D arena fighting moves, really adds much needed depth to what could have been a very bland game. The "Reload" port of the Playstation 2 game is very nice, but it lacks the important story mode, making it mush less interesting for me. The game does not support game-sharing so it finding other players might be more difficult that for other titles. Overall a great game.

Stylish beat-em-up in a side-scrolling and VS kind of way
4 Star Review   By member jbetancourt - Aug 29, 2008

Strengths: Solid Guilty Gear gameplay, great character designs as always

Weakness: kind of annoying to play this on PSP as compared to PS2

Guilty Gear is an excellent fighter series and this game captures the spirit well for a portable. You are getting two-games-for-one, a port of the usual GG 1-on-1 VS game and a new side scrolling beat-up every single generic monster in the universe type thing. This version go a bit old by the end for me, but was enough of a draw on the road to keep one entertained. I would say the VS mode has more replay value, though the controls are a little schlocky on the PSP. Overall: If you want to take GG with you, this isn't a bad way to do it.

This Game won't let you down
4 Star Review   By member bunty7 - Jan 30, 2008

Strengths: 2 games in 1, Good visuals & music

Weakness: Missing a good story mode

This game includes a beat 'em up & a fighting game & they both look pretty good with some nice colorful visuals & equally good music to go. The game controls could be a little difficult in the beginning but once you master them there is no going back with the fun you can have. Surprisingly the control works pretty well even on PSP. The game has been available at a bargain price for quite a while now & at that price it really needs to be in your PSP collection

Suprising good game
4 Star Review   By member docmav - Dec 31, 2007

Strengths: 2 games on 1 disc. Great gameplay and nice graphics.

When I first purchased this game, I figured it was going to be a disappointment. I have been a die hard Street Fighter fan. The first title on this disc is Final Fight like. Animation is different than other games I have played in the genre. Controls are crisp, sound is decent. Second title is Street Fighter like. Graphics overall are more animated than the usual 2D fighters. Pick up this game!

Hey, you got your 2D fighter in my side-scrolling beat-em-up!
4 Star Review   By member MadWolfie01 - Dec 4, 2007

Strengths: Two decent games together, solid graphics, rocking audio, online co-op support

Weakness: Several 2D fighting modes missing, difficult combo controls, monotonous game play

Guilty Gear Judgment is a new 2D side-scrolling beat-em-up game set in the Guilty Gear universe. It plays like a typical Final Fight or Streets of Rage clone in that you fight a seemingly endless parade of generic monsters and the occasional boss battle. It's actually quite fun in short bursts and works well on the PSP. Guilty Gear X2 Reload is a port of an old 2D one-on-one fighter, and it's missing the popular story and mission modes. It's also frustratingly difficult to pull off many of the combo moves due to the PSP controls. There's still fun to be had here, but X2 Reload doesn't work as well on the PSP as it does on a home console. Fans of the Guilty Gear series and fighting genre will like Judgment. It offers a lot of game play in one convenient package. Just be aware that the PSP controls don't allow for the complex button and control stick combos you may be used to in the arcade. For $20 or less, you could do much worse.
