Catwoman
2 Star Review  GameZone - Aug 4, 2004

Before we get into Catwoman, let me share with you a laundry list of witty possible catch lines for the game: “…Purrrrrfection…” “…Meow that’s what I call gameplay…” “…The scratching post of good storyline….” “…Kicking the kitty litter to the curb…” Coincidentally, none of the above mentioned catch lines will be in this review. On the contrary, you’ll run into other puns scattered throughout this piece though no where near as paw-licking (Hah, it begins).

Catwoman
2 Star Review  GameSpy - Jul 26, 2004

Poor Catwoman. As one of Batman's enemies, she was really little more than a pretty face and hot body in a tight catsuit. Judging by the ubiquitous trailers for the new Halle Berry movie, it looks like more of the same. When it was announced that Electronic Arts would be doing the Catwoman game, however, my spirits picked up a bit. After all, EA generally puts out a quality product, even if there isn't a lot to work with. Sometimes, though, only so much can be done, and this seems to be the case here. Not only is there little in the way of story, there's even less when it comes to actual gameplay.

2 Star Review  IGN.com - Jul 20, 2004

Electronic Arts has enjoyed a great run in the last few years, trumping everyone with dozens of great games, million-plus selling franchises, and innovation that is tough to compete with. Every so often it's bound to happen, though -- you know, a slip-up, a mistake, a wrong guess. That one game that maybe they shouldn't have bought the movie rights to. That's Catwoman.

1 Star Review   By member Warner1281 - Aug 5, 2005

Strengths: Ummm... the cover is pretty.

Weakness: Everything else

Garbage. Pure garbage. The game was about as linear as an old batman sega game. The fighting was as boring as it gets and the storyline follows the movie (that's a bad thing since the movie was horrible too). The graphics were pretty good I guess, but since the rest of the game stinks, the graphics just get washed away with the rest of the trash. Unless you are a HUGE Hally Berry fan... don't even rent this.

A Decent Game
2 Star Review   By member monsoonman - Jul 30, 2005

Strengths: +graphics (sorta)+ upgradable moves+ game mechanics

Weakness: - horrible control- horrible camera- easily beatable in a rental- easy game- fighting boring and choreographed

Catwoman isn't as bad a game as people say it is. It does have it's moments. The graphics are quite nice, especially of Catwoman and the background buildings. I also thought the game captured the character of Catwoman fairly well. Catwoman is able to climb most walls and is able to use her whip to swing from one area to the next. However this is all ruined with a shabby camera and controller. There is no way to control the camera angle, which can get frustrating when you are climbing walls. The controls in this game aren't good either. All of Catwoman's actions are controlled using the right analog stick. This makes fighting very bland and boring. On top of that you have to kick/hit enemies into a certain spot or else they will keep coming at you. But that isn't a real problem since the AI in the game is really bad. Catwoman isn't anything stellar but it's worth a rental for you Catwoman fans.
