EyeToy: Kinetic
4 Star Review  GameZone - Nov 21, 2005

Do you work too much to workout? Are you tired of hearing about Tae-Bo? Do you wish you looked like a sexy supermodel, but fear you have more in common with Snorlax than Cindy Crawford? We all live busy lives of boredom. Adding a workout program to our list of duties is just crazy. Unless there was a way to take the "work" out of the workout. Is such a thing even possible? Only when you're having fun. EyeToy: Kinetic aims to entertain while teaching proper fitness information in a virtual environment. In other words, this isn't the linear DVD workout video you bought from Lose a Zillion Pounds.

EyeToy Kinetic
4 Star Review  IGN.com - Nov 22, 2005

Sony's EyeToy has done a great job of offering gamers new ways with which to interact with their PlayStation 2, allowing them to make use of their arms, bodies and whatever else to actually participate in the onscreen action rather than just pressing simple buttons to do so. With all of the full-body interaction that's possible with the EyeToy, implementing it into a full fitness routine was a natural, and seemingly obvious, course of action. EyeToy: Kinetic offers up a full series of cardiovascular exercises, condition training and a number of other routines to help you get, or remain, in shape.

EyeToy: Kinetic (PS2)
5 Star Review   By member cotebryan - Jul 2, 2008

Strengths: (1) Provides a variety of exercises and challenges (2) Many of the sessions do really make you breathe hard and sweat (3) Great bodypart-specific toning routines

Weakness: (1) Some of the aerobic types of sessions are best done alone if you are moderately easy to embarrass (i.e. you will look silly doing some of these exercises)

EyeToy: Kinetic is a pretty fun way to get a moderately good workout. Some of the boxing type of sessions can really get you breathing hard and the routines that target specific bodyparts (such as the ab routine) are challenging and work well. Also included in the routines (though optional) are stretches and warm ups that prep you for the harder exercises. The game acts as somewhat of a personal trainer as you can select your goals and level of challenge and let it track you day-by-day, week-by-week, etc. as you continually add more challenge to your routines and push for not missing a planned workout day. I have used the game much in the winter time when there is less of a variety of exercise opportunities readily available on the homefront. During the summer, I will choose to run outside and lift weights more often but I still use the game for what I think is an excellent abdominal routine. Like the ab routine, I believe one of the major successes of this game is getting someone to complete a 30 minute workout of effective exercises that they might not have the motivation to do on their own.

Eyetoy Kinetic PS2
3 Star Review   By member yikez - Apr 30, 2008

Strengths: Very good training workout. Comes with a new eyetoy camera. Produced by Nike Motionworks.

Weakness: Hard to stick to the program for 12 weeks.

Kinetic is a great workout game for the PS2. It features and includes an Eyetoy camera. The game focuses on 4 areas ( combat , cardio , toning , and mind & body). The game features 20 unique exercises from different arts.

Eye Toy: Kinetic (PS2)
3 Star Review   By member docmav - Mar 8, 2008

Strengths: Exercise routine, newer USB Camera

Weakness: Not very responsive, slow load time

I purchased this hoping for a good workout and some fun. It was fun at first since you can have a personal trainer and work on certain areas. Nike has a part in this game too. The load times were longer than I liked and the camera recognition was poor. If you have low lighting in your living room, the camera will not pick up the image well. Kinetic comes with a snap on adapter for the USB Camera for a wider view (needed for the game). I got Kinetic for the NEWER Silver PS2 Eye Toy camera. What's nice is it does work for your PC as a webcam with a built-in microphone. Pick this up for the camera, but don't expect much of a work out.

EyeToy Kinetic
4 Star Review   By member eau697 - Mar 29, 2007

Strengths: Great workout, multiple modes

EyeToy: Kinetic is a great exercise tool using the often overlooked EyeToy perpherial for the Playstation 2. Kinetic is loaded with many different ways to do exercise. It offers various gameplay modes and a 12-week program. The gameplay modes are divided into various categories targeted towards specific zones of your body. The 12-week program is customized using your own preferences to tailor a workout program suitable for your own conditions. Kinetic is a worthy addition to your Playstation 2 library. It offers fun and effective ways to work out, and comes with a eye toy that selected games can take advantage of.

EyeToy: Kinetic
4 Star Review   By member keelie - Mar 15, 2007

Strengths: updated webcam, fun workout

EyeToy:Kinetic offers gamers an excellent way to perform a series of cardiovascular exercises by interacting with their Playstation 2 through the use of their arms, body and legs. Unlike the black webcam that comes with other EyeToy game bundle, the webcam in the Kinetic bundle is the newer, silver model that goes for $30 in retail. EyeToy:Kinetic is for everyone, not just gamers. However, gamers can have a fun workout without leaving their beloved Playstation 2.
