Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith
4 Star Review  GameZone - Jul 14, 2005

Having been released a week before the actual theatrical release, the console and portable game versions of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith gave gamers the opportunity to catch an advance peek at some key plot elements without giving away too much. On the portable front, though, the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS version might appear to be similar at first glance but it is this Nintendo DS version, much like the Sith, that clearly stands out as the winner. Having not just liked but loved George Lucas’ third chapter of his prequels, I launched into the Nintendo DS version with higher expectations than the console version that, while not perfect, still provided hack-and-slash fun.

Not bad not bad!
3 Star Review   By member sinofsky - Jun 25, 2007

Strengths: Lots of force moves based on the two character of Obi-Wan or Anakin!

Weakness: Seems a bit hard to learn all the different moves, especially since a lot of them you have to figure out on your own. Seems to play a bit too easily too.

Cool choices for force moves but I am not sure I fully get how they can move between both characters at one point when fighting Count Duku (sp?) :) Still a lot to learn and I find it confusing to figure out. Kind of disapointed by the lack of touch screen usability. Everything can be done with the controls on the DS and it seems the second screen is useless except for the fact that it shows info about the characters. Overall I think the game is pretty sweet graphics wise but I think it needs a bit more to it.

Star War Episode 3 (DS)
3 Star Review   By member cheapfrag - May 11, 2007

Strengths: replayability, fun

Weakness: can be a little too challenging at times for beginners

Star Wars Episode 3 is a side scrolling adventure game. You can control Anakin or Obi-Wan Kenobe. You can use you light saber to attack and defend. You can also use the force to attack and peform other actions like healing. You gain attribute points after each mission to increase health or strength or force. Also you can buy new force powers using points award during that level. The levels can be challenging at times. You have three lives to get through each level and I found that I would often have to try a level multiple times even early in the game. The are 3D star ship levels too and that's a nice change of pace. The graphics are pretty nice. The touch screen is not used very much during game play - the action happens on the top screen. The game also supports multiplayer capability - on the 3D star ship levels - although I have not tried that yet. I would recommend this game to Star War fans.

Star Wars Ep III
4 Star Review   By member bob330i - Dec 17, 2006

Strengths: price, gameplay

I'm a little late on this title but it was worth the wait especially at $20 retail now. Gameplay is fun and playing Obi Wan or Anakin gives the player a good option. Each character has his own special moves and capability upgrades. Graphics are ok but it's the game play that is the strength of this title. It has about the right amount of difficulty vs. up-leveling. The fighter sequences round out this good title. Definitely recommended.

Star Wars Episode III (DS)
4 Star Review   By member eau697 - Aug 22, 2006

Strengths: Fun, gameplay, full of actions

Weakness: Graphics

This is a great Star Wars game for the Nintendo DS platform (considering other DS/GBA based Star Wars game doing poorly). It is fun and entertaining. It has plenty of actions to please and gameplay is very good. Graphics is a bit weak since the DS platform has the capability to yield better graphics. Nevertheless, this game is still worth playing. It was a surprise when I purchased and I didn't regret getting it.

Star Wars Episode III for DS
4 Star Review   By member keelie - Aug 14, 2006

Strengths: fun action-packed game on the go

Weakness: Dated graphics (GBA-like)

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith for the Nintendo DS is a fun, action-packed game on the go. It has lots of fighting and flying, and features multi-player capability. The downside of this game is the dated graphics. It looks like a direct port of the GBA version, even the touchpad is hardly used during gameplay. I would recommend getting this game if you can find it under $20. It is fun, entertaining.

Another star wars game
3 Star Review   By member fever - Aug 11, 2006

Strengths: Great effects and music

Weakness: Dated graphics, bad story

This is a fairly decent Star Wars game, good controls and great effects. However, like like all Star Wars games, the story totally sucks and often gameplay relies too much on the licensed franchise for ideas that are, by now, cliche and tired. If you have never played at Star Wars game, there is plenty new to discover, using the Jedi Force powers can be a lot of fun.

Revenge on the DS
4 Star Review   By member heffaji - Jun 27, 2006

Strengths: This game holds fun if you enjoy some well-drawn art, standard brawling, and a little bit of flying as well.

Weakness: If you are looking for variety and depth beyond your standard side-scrolling experience, you won't find much here

This depiction of Episode 3 was one of the stronger versions, deriving from it not trying to be more then it is. You'll find a fun adventure through the locales of the movie, as well as some flight-sim moments that are probably the most enjoyable aspect of the game. Hopefully, that aspect is expanded upon in a future title, as it could easily stand on it's own.

Star Wars 3
3 Star Review   By member Blinkminime - Jun 23, 2006

Strengths: Great side scrolling game, lots of fun.

Weakness: Graphics are very dated, almost GBA style.

I actually wasn't going to buy this game until I saw some kids playing it and thought it looked cool. After picking it up I couldn't put it down. THe only thing I didn't like it that the touch screen is barely used at all throughout the entire game, other than that it was a very solid platformer.

Star Wars III Revenge of The Sith
3 Star Review   By member jillyb - Mar 15, 2006

Strengths: Lots of fighting action if you like the other star wars games

Weakness: was surprised of the lack of use on the touch screen for the DS was more of SP quality

Not a bad game all in all great graphics as with the other Star Wars games but for the price would not recommend paying the going price of $40 quality wise it's worth about $25. If you are a star wars buff than you will still want to try this game.

Star Wars Revenge of the Sith
3 Star Review   By member mojave - Oct 20, 2005

Strengths: 3D Space missions added to GBA version

Weakness: Rest of game essentially GBA-quality

Star Wars Revenge of the Sith for the Nintendo DS is basically a 2D combo-mashing fighting game. If you like that sort of thing (and I tend not to) it is a pretty good one and makes use of the license and things like plot, music, etc, well enough. What sets this title above the similar GameBoy Advance version is the inclusion of 3D space combat missions. These are excellent, and also available to play in multi-player sessions. Perhaps a DS game more in common with the Gamecube Star Wars Rogue Squadron games would have been a better choice than the basic 2D fighter with bells and whistles that we get here.

Star Wars Episode III DS
4 Star Review   By member dago2727 - Sep 1, 2005

Strengths: Strong Story, Good flying missions

Weakness: Same as GBA Version, Doesnt make good use of Touch Screen

Star Wars Episode III for the DS is almost an exact port of the GBA version, except that it has a few excellent flying missions included. The graphics are average, well below DS standards, but the game is fun regardless. The Touch Scren is not really used here as you can pull off the same special moves using the control pad and buttons. The ability to use both Anakin and Obi One makes for good replay value. An above average game, and a worthy purchase if you can find it for about $20.
