Portable Metroid

Strengths: Fun 2D adventure

Weakness: (expectedly) short

Metroid Fusion is an original 2D Metroid following the story from the end of Super Metroid on the SNES. The graphics and music are fantastic for what the GBA is capable of providing, and the story and gameplay present should satisfy any Metroid fan. Unfortunately it was also influenced in length by its 2D predecessor, so don't expect the adventure to go on forever.

Metroid Fusion (GBA)

Strengths: Great 2D Side-scrolling Game play, Stronger narrative and overall story

Weakness: The game is more linear than previous installments due to the lack of connectivity between specific area maps.

I was relatively new to the Metroid series, and while Metroid Fusion is much more linear in design than Prime or Zero Mission, it captures the overall feelings of the franchise quite well and I was happy with the stronger narrative and story. The addition of the X Parasite and its affect on the environment and enemies in the game added a bit more to the standard Metroid style game play.

Metroid Fusion (GBA)

Strengths: Well-done new Metroid game, good graphics and sound, good gameplay

Weakness: Nothing revolutionary

Metroid Fusion is a new entry into the Metroid franchise, though keeps the same core gameplay as previous games. It looks good and sounds good, and the gameplay is entertaining and action-packed. It doesn't add anything revolutionary to the mix, though it's a well-done Metroid game without question.

Metroid Fusion

Strengths: Polished entry in Metroid Series with some nice unlockable bonuses.

Weakness: More linear than previous installments.

Metroid Fusion is an excellent entry in the Metroid Series of games. The gameplay remains pretty much the same as in past adventures, but this time around Samus has a new look. The story is good and is enhanced by high quality cut scenes. I loved that one of the unlockables was the Fusion suit in Metroid Prime. Pretty awesome game overall.

Great classic Metroid gameplay

Strengths: Classic Metroid gameplay. A few unlockables when linking game to Gamecube

Weakness: Nothing too innovative or original, compared to past Metroids

Metroid Fusion is an extremely fun game that uses the same formula as the NES and SNES Metroid games. The only problem is that it doesn't really bring a whole lot new to the table either. The game is actually a bit easier than past Metroid games since it is a bit more linear in nature and contains more save points. One cool bonus is that you can unlock a few nices surprises by linking the game...
