Fire Emblem PathRadiance
4.5 Star Review  IGN.com - Oct 14, 2005

Embrace game droughts. If you've been an avid gamer over the last decade or so, you know that Nintendo systems don't always age gracefully, often leaving players starved for new quality titles as the leaves turn orange. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is the perfect example as to why game shortages aren't all bad. While Nintendo and other Japanese publishers never felt the need to translate some of their more text-heavy NES and SNES titles because of a flood of readily available software, a slowdown in releases for Nintendo's handhelds and consoles may have somewhat forced the publisher's hands to finally release franchises like Wars and Fire Emblem to audiences outside Japan. As a matter of fact, the GBA revival of Famicom Wars we all know and love as Advance Wars actually released in the west before it made it out in Japan.

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
5 Star Review   By member mojave - Oct 3, 2007

Strengths: Excellent strategt RPG with a great story

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance takes the fun turn-based strategy RPG game that was a big hit on the Game Boy Advance back into the console realm on the Gamecube. The game features an excellent story (much better than I expected it to be) along with fun and somewhat challenging missions. If played in Normal mode the game is not too challenging to complete, but it is a bit of a challenge to do so without any of your main characters dying, which is how I played through it. Unlike a lot of other strategy games, there is no resurrection for fallen heroes. If they die, they stay dead. I didn't want this to happen so I had to replay a couple of missions as a result. This is an excellent game and pretty much the best strategy game yet available for the Gamecube (and thus the Wii) as well. There is a sequel coming out for the Wii soon but I would definitely recommend playing this one first.

A Radiant Future
4 Star Review   By member aminaha - Sep 17, 2007

Strengths: Great presentation and battle system, great characters whose personalities really shine through dialogue and supports, beautiful cel-shaded cg cutcscenes, skill system

Weakness: Graphics are dated, animations are few and poorly done, no maniac mode.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is a fionely crafted and involving strategy rpg(SRPG). This game tells an emotional and moving tell of a land divided by the conflict between laguz(demihumans) and beorc(humans). This entry in the fire emblem series adds some new gameplay elements: bous experience used to level up your army, a new playable class is introduced-laguz, shove ability-use it to shove units outta danger or shove units closer to enemies

Fire Emblem
5 Star Review   By member Blinkminime - Aug 3, 2007

Strengths: Amazing RTS game that delivers on almost all aspects!

Weakness: Can be a little hard to get into at first due to the learning curve.

This is by far one of the best gamecube games that was ever released. Even if you own a Wii do yourself a favor and try and pick up a copy of this game right away. I honestly had no intention of ever playing a RTS but I tried it out and I was hooked.

One of the greatest GameCube games
5 Star Review   By member botticus - Aug 3, 2007

Strengths: Fantastic turn-based strategy

Weakness: Permadeath may turn some players off

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is near the top of my list of favorite GameCube games due to its strategic turn-based gameplay, the intense action, and fine storytelling. Rarely am I glued to my TV for the duration of a 40-plus hour game, but this was one of those cases. If you've played a previous Fire Emblem, you'll no doubt enjoy this, though newcomers to the SRPG genre may want to choose another series - the permanent loss of a character when they die is startling in this age of more forgiving games.

Another Quality Title
5 Star Review   By member yakkotank - Jun 14, 2007

Strengths: Deep and involving gameplay.

Weakness: Some animations are a bit off.

After two stellar Game Boy titles, Fire Emblem moves onto the Gamecube for the first time. Fans of the series and of tactical RPGs will not be disappointed. The localization is excellent, as always, the gameplay is solid with a few wrinkles to spice things up, and the graphics and music are great. This is definitely one of the best games on the Gamecube!

Fire Emblem makes it's way to the US via console system
4 Star Review   By member FOnewearl - May 29, 2007

Strengths: Long single player quest

Weakness: Losing a character that dies for good

With Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance the US finally gets a console version of Fire Emblem series which has had games released for Japan for all or most of the previous Nintendo systems. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is an SRPG and at that one of the best on any system past or present. In Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance you will will command a squad of characters like many SRPGs the one thing about Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is that you will have certain characters that will be able to transform into an animal like form which will be extremely powerful the catch is that when their powers wear off and they go back to human form they won't be able to attack and are much weaker then they are in animal form. With everything that Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance does right like other Fire Emblem games once a member of your party dies during battle they can't be resurrected afterwards so gamers are faced with the choice of resetting if a character dies and having to start over from the last save point in order not to lose the fallen warrior or moving onward and losing a character that you might have invested alot of time leveling up before they died. I would highly recommend Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance to SRPG fans as it's a top notch SRPG and one of the few (and the best) on the GameCube.

Faithful Addition to the Fire Emblem series
4 Star Review   By member krunch - May 25, 2007

Strengths: Lots of unlockables, which adds replay value. Pretty cut-scenes.

Weakness: Gameplay can get a bit tedious at times

I'd say Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is one of the better turn-based RPGs for the Gamecube. Both of the Gameboy Advance Fire Emblem games were quite popular and Path of Radiance is definitely a great addition to the series. Path of Radiance features brand new characters and a story that has nothing to do with past FE games, so gamers new to the series can enjoy it as well. Aside from the cutscenes, the graphics themselves are just average for a Gamecube game. The gameplay itself if quite fun though, allowing you to forge weapons. Recommended for RPG fans.

Good RPG game for the Cube
4 Star Review   By member Pookymeister - Apr 28, 2007

Strengths: -Decent story -Graphics are pretty

Weakness: -Difficulty may turn off rpg'ers used to games like Final Fantasy

Strong showing in the RPG genre for the Gamecube, since there aren't too many of this game type for this console. Those players accustomed to Final Fantasy type gameplay might shy away from this one. Things like 'Phoenix Down' will not apply here. Once one of your party dies, they are done....for good. If you are like me, you will be saving very often, just in case this happens to one of your more important party memebers - as to not lose time when you inevitably reload your last save since he/she died. If you can handle that issue, the game is rewarding and worth the play.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
4 Star Review   By member TheHobbit - Apr 27, 2007

Strengths: If you're a fan of other Fire Emblem games, then don't hesitate to get this game.

Weakness: You can't revive your characters once they die, you have to reload your game and restart from your last save point.

Fire Emblem has a great story line. The player and computer takes turn in moving your characters on the playing field. You should be careful and protect your characters thoroughly. Once your characters die, you have to reload your game and restart from your last save point. All in all, this is a very good role playing game (RPG).

Path of Butt Kicking.
4 Star Review   By member The_Admiral - Apr 24, 2007

Strengths: Same tactical experience from the GBA. Tons of depth. Challenging.

Weakness: Can be difficult.

Path of Radiance brings the great tactical gameplay of the series from the GBA to the Gamecube. If you've never played a Fire Emblem game, then you're up for a challenging treat. The Fire Emblem series is a great combat RPG but it is punishing if you mess up in combat. The graphics are okay but it has amazing depth. It's definately worth the effort.

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
4 Star Review   By member road3283 - Apr 11, 2007

Strengths: Great blend of strategy and rpg character building

Weakness: Has a it of a learning curve

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance really perfects its tactical rpg gameplay. You will really become immersed in the game thanks to its battles and story. The fact that if a character dies in battle their gone for good has you actually caring about them. It makes the game very compelling. The game is pretty lengthy too and has multiple difficulty settings which is nice if you find it to be too challenging. Overall, a great game for anyone who is a fan of strategy and role playing games.

Fire Emblem
5 Star Review   By member amf306 - Mar 14, 2007

Strengths: Great graphics, great gameplay, great character development

This game is great. It is a strategy RPG with a trinity type system. It is challenging (if a player dies in battle, they are gone forever), it is fun, and there are great characters and story. This game can be found cheap nowadays, so do yourself a favor and pick this one up.

Great game great to go
5 Star Review

Strengths: great addictive game with good characters, stages. The tactical rpg coontinues to give people a good time.Has alot of things from the old days and more

Weakness: Should have keeped the coliseum to make teams and challege each other.

this game is a great game which i got 2005. If you played fire emblem 7 you will like this game. It picks up after the sacred stones came out and gets fire emblem games going on the right track. It has great games, the graphics are decent for the movie scenes, the music is good, the replayability is there, you can hook up fire emblem and fire emblem the sacred stones and fire emblem fuuin no tsurugi(the sealed sword) andget extra stuff. the new custom item shop is nice . I recommended this game to fire emblem and people who just heard about fire emblem, because this game will gie good detail on why fire emblem sells with it's overall good gameplay, storyline, characters, music, stages, and addictiveness. I recommend also not to rent the game because you will might want to play it again as soon as you are done with it. If you are mot a tactical rpg player then it is up to you.
