Reviews for Swing-N-Slide Turbo Tube Slide - Green

It's big and fast as a slide should be. Very pricey.

Two issues I had...the first is that it's very pricey and I'm not entirely sure why. The second is that it needed additional bracing (a ground post) to the middle-section it seemed - something I had to add....otherwise it's really a good slide, I purchased it largely based upon it's size and the project I needed it for. Had I needed smaller - I would've gotten something else.

Wonderful toy; hard to assemble.

After reading previous folks' reviews, I was prepared to find pieces impossible to fit together and hard to figure out. The conceptual part was a piece of cake, and most holes did not line up unless forced. Nevertheless, I only had to drill one new hole, and was able to jimmy everything else into pretty close alignment. It took me (one person, alone) a few hours during each of three days to put it together and mount it on a custom-made platform. Because I was by myself, I used ropes to maneuver the top section in place for bolting before finishing the bottom pieces. The slide is rated for 250 lbs and it appears to me that is correct--I'm a little lighter than that and I went down it several times before I let the kids use it. :-) However, even when a fifty pound child slides down, there's some wobble, so I believe I will set a 4x4 post in concrete and bolt it to the outside of the slide about halfway up. All told, I am very pleased with the Turbo Tube. I do think it's a little overpriced, though.

HARD TO PUT TOGETHER

Took my very experienced friend all day. The directions are not great at the end they tell you you should have built a pit for the bottom of the slide. They should label the pieces. Good luck, but fun and looks just like the picture.

Definately residential quality ... needs more support brackets

While paperwork may say it supports up to 250 lbs, for anyone larger than children, it concerns me that the flexing of the tube will eventually wear out the tubing and cause it to crack or break ... but for now it works. I am likely adding additional supports to reduce the amount of pressure on the slide as a whole.

Looks really nice!

This product looks really nice when you get it up and seems to be of pretty good quality. My only negative comment would be that it was a little time consuming to put together. The directions were fairly easy to read but it took us a few hours to actually put together and there were no directions on how to get your playset ready for the slide. Overall we are pleased!

This product is awesume dezine for the kids.

The grand kids love sliding down this thing, we just hope it will last. I personaly belive it could have been made a little more sturdy, and better fit for assemblely. over all if it last's will prove its worthyness.

This product is great!

This is a great product! The delivery to the house was wonderful! The only difficulty was the lining up of the slide! If the manufacturer would just put arrows on the product where the pieces should line up it would make assembly much faster.

poor engineering

sections do not fit together easily and holes do not line up easy. They should put a mark on each section where they should line up with other sections to make assembly easier.

Tube slide only!

Before you purchase the tube slide be aware that the tower doesn't come with the tube, just the instructions to make the tower. I bought the tube slide thinking it came with the the tower. It is also available to purchase through online and it will match your playground!

Assembly is a PAIN---Set aside a day!

We purchased this slide for a tower constructed for our 2 grandchildren for Christmas. We are pretty good at doing these things ourselves. We enjoy the satifiscation of doing outdoor projects and the money we save in the process. Assembly: This slide was a PAIN. It took several hours for one person to assemble the parts. It took 2 people to connect the parts. We had to force a number of the holes into alignment. Connecting to the tower frame: My husband & son in law were able to get the 2 hex bolts secured. Then they discovered the holes we had marked & predrilled using the "template" did not match the holes in the actual slide mount. I would strongly recommend using the actual assembled slide to make your own template rather than using the one supplied with the kit.

excellnt purchase!

Easy to put together. The support, however, is not optional- you really need it for adult usage! Also, the bottom needs to rest on a firm surface. We placed it off our deck and the children (9 and 14) love it- so do we!

Tube Slide

I searched all over before I bought this and Home Depot by far has the best price at $397. I was disappointed that it cost another $100 for shipping and tax, picking up in the store I was told was even more expensive. The box arrived ahead of schedule but was all torn and taped up. Everything inside was fine and nothing was missing. The slide comes with a lot of extra hardware and directions in the event you need to build the tower. I had a tower so all that stuff was just extra parts. Assembly of the tube was easy, but time comsuming. There are about 100 bolts that hold it together. A few holes didnt line up correctly but the manufacturer covers that in the directions. Bolting it together so it makes the proper curve is a bit confusing despite both the written and picture directions supplied. Putting it in place and connecting it onto the tower is difficult, especially in my case where the ground to tower measurement was a little more because of the slope of the ground. With Ideal conditions you will need a few hours and at least 2 people, 3 would be even better. Overall its good. The kids love it and it looks like it will hold up well for the life of the playset, I would recomend it.
