Awful exchange policy

Leapfrog has the worst customer service ever! I received a Leapfrog toy as a gift for my 3-year old and wanted to exchange it for something more advanced, but the customer service center told me I could only exchange a damaged or broken item and only for the exact same item. I asked for a refund or credit, but they told me they could only apply the credit to my brother's credit card, and I did not want him to find out and feel bad about me exchanging his gift. The package came with a letter entitled "Returns and Exchanges", but the language does not mention anything about how to exchange a gift or how to do any type of exchange at all. Completely useless! I would not buy from this company ever again!
