Does what it promises
4 Star Review   By Doc Dennis on Adorama - May 14, 2012    ( See more reviews from Adorama )

This has been great for going to outdoor NFL football games. As useful as more expensive binoculars because of the image stabilization feature.Lenses are also good.

too expensive
2 Star Review   By best buyer on Adorama - Feb 20, 2011    ( See more reviews from Adorama )

Canon had rebates for stabilizers, but I did not receive it after I filled out the form and sent it by certified mail before the deadline. When I called the number on the form, the number was not working at all. Be cautious with Canon.

Amazing and versatile
5 Star Review   By Skychaser on Adorama - Nov 22, 2010    ( See more reviews from Adorama )

These are without a doubt the best binocs I've owned. Canon starts with excellent glass that transmits a bright, true-color image, then adds their proprietary image stabi, which is a revelation. I love to hand these to a hiking companion and hear them say

4 Star Review   By Doc Dennis on Adorama - Aug 9, 2010    ( See more reviews from Adorama )

I also own 8x 30 Swarovskis and 8x20 Leicas. The lenses are not as sharp but the optic image stabilizer more than makes up for it. It takes away the motion that can cause headaches with cheaper binoculars. Great purchase for someone that can't afford the

Absolutely fantastic. No longer do I need to brace myself against something to see an object clearly. I can hardly believe the difference between my previous binoculars and this pair.

More quality identification time
3 Star Review   By member firefly76 - Nov 1, 2008

Strengths: Allow you longer quality identification time

Weakness: Image lacks clarity at greater distances

These binoculars do provide you with a longer, better view of details for birding at mid-range. However, they lack clarity at far distances. For this reason I would recommend the 10X over the 8X magnification. It is a bit annoying that the image jumps when the image stabilizer button is pushed. Once it locks in you have to find your subject again. Be sure to pack extra batteries in case your batteries die while you're in the field or on a trip. They use CA123 batteries which may not be easy to find on field trips. I would like to see them use some sort of rechargeable battery. But for people who have trouble holding binoculars still for a good look at things they are a reasonably priced solution.

Very good pfoduct
4 Star Review   By member rgp926 - Jan 28, 2008

Strengths: Very good quality. Image stabillization warks pretty well.

Weakness: A little pricey.

I have always had trouble holding binoculars steady. The image stabilization really helps clear the image. They are reasonably light weight so holding them at football games isn't a problem.

Image Stabilzer Works Very Well

Great Images
4 Star Review   By PhotoMan on Adorama - Feb 5, 2007    ( See more reviews from Adorama )

A great but for the price. Crisp bright image, not to heavy or bulky to take along to sporting or other events. All but does away with the worst part of using binoculars-that jittery image. Bought them for bird watching and have enjoyed many other uses.

Binocular users--you want these!
5 Star Review   By Mark Wurzel on Adorama - Feb 5, 2007    ( See more reviews from Adorama )

Image stabilized binoculars are the only way to go. Once you've tried IS binoculars, you'll never go back to "ordinary" binoculars. A tip, be sure to always carry a spare battery in the carrying case.
