Fable: The Lost Chapters
4.5 Star Review  GameZone - Sep 16, 2005

Last summer, I worked part time at my local GameStop store. As part of being a “proud” associate of such a “established” and “excellently managed company” that I “did not want a horde of angry Mongolian barbarians to set fire to,” I was required to get a certain number of game reservations a week (Apparently the challenge was my own reward, because my paycheck sure didn’t see anything friendly attached to it). However, one game stood out above the rest in my reservation list as what I believed to be the number 1 XBox game of the year, Fable.

Fable Lost Chapters
4.5 Star Review  IGN.com - Sep 16, 2005

At long last, Peter Molyneux's ambitious roleplaying game is coming home to the PC. After being announced for the PC some years back, the title was first released on the Xbox last year. It didn't quite live up to the promises made on its behalf early in its development but the action-RPG format and the importance of your choices in the game made it a real treasure on the Xbox. The competition's a bit stiffer on the PC, of course, but the PC version of the game is still a worthy addition to any action or RPG gamer's library.

Fable for PC
4 Star Review   By member drakula - Jan 30, 2008

Strengths: Good graphics. Fairly good learning curve. Chose the character's destiny, ending depends on player's decision.

Weakness: Slight stuttering.

Fable: The Lost Chapters arrives for PC after being one of the best RPG for XBox. Porting from XBox to PC did not result in decrease in graphics. The graphics is actually quite good and the details are just as good. The game have fairly good learning curve, the level of difficulty did not suddenly shoot up after couple levels, it progresses quite evenly. The main selling point of this game is that the player can choose character's destiny depends on the actions he take and ultimately results in different endings due to the character's development. The game suffers slight stuttering during the gameplay, even when system is well beyond the requirement. However, the experience might be system dependent rather than issue of the game. Overall, Fable is surprisingly good for a RPG game. Player might be in for a surprise about the main character's destiny due to the choices being made.

Fable - The Lost Chapters
4 Star Review   By member jchoi - Jul 8, 2007

Strengths: Fable is an excellent third-person RPG with enough action to keep you occupied for a long time. With added content from its initial launch on the X-Box, Fable provides a solid gaming experience.

Weakness: Even though they added content, there are still some things missing that were supposed to be included (weapons). The world is small compared to RPG's like Morrowind so it can feel like backtracking.

In the game world of Albion, almost every decision the player makes affects the alignment of the main character. Steal from homes and kill guards, and your character will grow demon horns. Help out others and protect the innocent, he'll develop a blue aura and a halo will appear over his head. The world is semi-open ended; you can go wherever you want and completely ignore the plot after the first few areas. There are several side-quests and secrets to unlock and exploring can be fun.
