Unreal Tournament 2003
4.5 Star Review  GameZone - Oct 12, 2002

One of the most popular FPS (first person shooter) games finally has a sequel. After months of delays, Unreal Tournament 2003 has finally hit the shelves! The sequel has much to live up to since the original won numerous awards, and has a phenomenal game engine backing it up. Unreal Tournament was one of the few games that rival the Quake series for best FPS. Does the sequel retain all the qualities that made the original so good, and then expound upon them for a better game, or does it bomb? There is little background story in the game, if any, since that is not the main purpose of this genre.

Unreal Tournament 2003
4 Star Review  GameSpy - Oct 4, 2002

Musty white fog seeps through corroded metal grates. Red light pours through a blackened pipe while a spinning fan casts moving shadows against a sloping metal wall. And somewhere nearby, under a canopy of wires and arcing blue electricity, a rocket launcher floats in the cool glow of a single overhead spotlight.

Unreal Tournament 2003
4.5 Star Review  IGN.com - Sep 27, 2002

I dread today. Writing about online-centric shooters is hazardous work ideally rewarded with hazard pay that I certainly do not get. Garbage men pity me. Nuclear waste disposal technicians hang their heads in sorrow as I shamble past. See, the fans, fanboys, and fanatics associated with these games can often be the most rabid, disgruntled, ignorant, vocal, and downright crazy bunch of PC using lunatics in all of gaming. A stereotype? Not if it's 100% accurate and 100% capable of brutally murdering you in the office parking lot as you retreat home for the evening.

5 Star Review   By member Trecher - Sep 22, 2004

Strengths: Great Graphics. Fun single and multiplayer action. Great Maps and weapons. Very enjoyable commentary.

Weakness: Sniper rifle isn't as reliable as the one in 1st Unreal Tournament. Doesn't seem to be as accurate and is harder to kill with than previous versions.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable game. I moved from Unreal to Unreal Tournament to Tourn. 2003 and they just keep getting better. I love the storyline and the characters. The multiplayer is a blast to enjoy with friends. A person of any skill level with shooter games can really have some fun with this.

5 Star Review   By member SRE_Sicilian - Aug 8, 2003

Strengths: Great graphics, sound, replayability

Weakness: Sry, cant find any :)

Alright, as you might have guess "SRE" in my name is associated with the clan i am in, on Unreal Tournament 2003. First off, this game provides a very nice single player mode with many difficulty settings, and the ability to create your own team. Along with a new game type called "bombing run" , my personal favorite. But one thing you can't ignore is the awesome multiplayer mode. Like many pc games you can link up with another pc in your house and play on the "LAN" (local are network) game. Also the online gaming is spectacular, letting you talk to your other opponents, joining clans, even making your own skins and maps to show every one else in the game. An other thing is the downloadable features. You can go online and download many game play tweaks such as maps and mutators. Also it is very user friendly and the game even comes with its own map/character creator which comes very handy. So all in all this is one of the best online pc games ever.

Strengths: Fun. Community mods. Free upgrades from company.

This game is a blast to play. Was originally addicted to Unreal Tournament and received this this past christmas. Game is fun in single player mode, but lets be honest, the strong point of this game is playing on-line. Strong Unreal community has taken advantage of infogrames map editors and has developed extensive amounts of new maps that are free to go out and grab hold of. Plenty of tweaks and mods that make the game more fun, and the great thing is you don't have to be some gaming genius to get all of this going!! Very user friendly. Also, you don't have to own some $2000 or more gaming rig to make this baby run smoothly. I would recommend at least 64 Mb video card to get really good video components. Great first person shooter!!!!!!!!!!

Strengths: Great, Real good graphics, Great action, Great sound.

Weakness: Not for onboard video!

I had the first unreal for a real long time and I thought it was the best till I got this one. I think unreal 2003 Beats it 10 to 1. I like it and recommend it so much that I even got a networking system going here at home so my whole family can play it so everyone isn't fighting over one computer to play it now we can all play it together and against each other. It is really Great. We all enjoy it very much. even the small kids in the family can play it, it is real easy to play for all members. Real good action to keep you all on your toes. LOL If you want a Good Game this is for you if you like allot of action. P.S. I know some hints and tips. And some codes. But I am not sure how to post them in the section for that..

Strengths: Everything. Great graphics, awesome music that keeps the blood flowing, perfect control. Everything is great.

Weakness: None!

I'm playing this game with a Gateway 500XL with a Pentium IV 3.06 GHz, 768 MB RAM, 128 MB VRAM w/ graphics accelarator, surround sound, and 160 GB hard drive so their is no slow down whatsoever. As long as you're playing this game on a full blown computer, you'll have a blast. Perfect 10/10.

5 Star Review   By member Ron A - May 11, 2003

Strengths: This game is the best multiplayer game out there for PC! The graphics are amazing! The environment is the best I have ever seen! I am even running a P3 733Mhz, 64MB GeForce2, and 512MB RAM.

Weakness: What is there not to like about this game? The only thing I do not like is the lag on multiplayer sometimes. Which is most likely due to people who do not have broadband access.

Great game! Thanks to the Unreal graphics engine. If you are still unsure about getting this game, try the demo which is available on the Unreal Championship 2003 website.

5 Star Review   By member rastafa - Oct 11, 2002

Strengths: The various maps for each type of game objectives [ Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Double Domination, CTF, Bomobing Run ] is amazing! Multiplaying is fun and actually what makes the game.

Weakness: Playing in single-player mode, the bots do get dumbed down and tend to camp and make easy for bait on an easy kill. Multiplayer: need to work with the lag. A lot of missed packets.

Over all, this game rocks! Very fast paced and intense! A game to come home to on a bad day at work. This game is meant for multiplaying mode. I guarantee that you won't leave a game with at least 5 frags :)

5 Star Review   By member cpburnslf - Sep 21, 2002

Strengths: absolutely blow-your-mind incredible graphics, fast gameplay, insane detail, this game has it all. great character animation!

Weakness: i didn't notice the ability to gib dead bodies. it requires so much computer horsepower! menu system doesn't appear quite as easy to use as in original Unreal Tournament. mostly same weapons as UT 1.

though i only have the demo, this game just blew my mind! the level of detail beats any other game i've yet played. the outdoor environments are so beautiful and detailed. i looked down from a cliff and saw a reflection of the sky and trees in a pond of water. indoors environments are highly detailed as well. the game does not use textures to replicate objects. i saw actual steel girders, individual links in 10 different chains in the same scene. the bots perform decently well. like many games, they substitute strafing and high accuracy for real intelligence. not a great tactical sense there, but they do provide decent competition. the weapons are mostly the same as in UT 1, just modified. that disappointed me; but i still would recommend this game to anyone, especially unreal fans.

Strengths: incredible environments,incredible graphics,perfect gameplay,addictive,well-designed guns,unstoppable action, perfect.......

Weakness: the only drawback that fell into my consideration is the -bad- artificial intelligence of the bots(especially when tou play ctf) and you must have a very high-end pc

one of the best games i have ever played.congratulations on the designer team.it is an all time classic game that everyone myst play.incredible environments,a host of levels to play, perfect multiplayer.the only i didnt't like was the AI of the bots.Buy it without second thoughts.

5 Star Review   By member megamanz - Jul 29, 2002

Strengths: This game is probably one of the best games ever! I loved the new domination 2 and the surviver. I would definatly buy this game again.

Weakness: The only weakness this game had was the fact that they left out one of the things that made me love unreal, the single player storyline. That was the only weakness that i saw.

All in all this is a great game and I love it. I love the new levels, the new matches and the new people to choose from. If u loved the other unreal games you will definitely love this one. It is a must have for the unrealaholics.

Strengths: It is a very good game, good graphiics, good story line, lots of action, probably one of the best action games i've seen so far.

Weakness: The only bad part is single player it is'int much fun rather than the multiplayer.

The point is, it is VERY good for multiplayer. Lots of action for every level on multiplayer. This is the perfect game for multiplayer i've ever played
