Wonderful
5 Star Review   By ChesterLady on Puritans Pride - Feb 13, 2014

Yes, it is messy but the results are wonderful and last much better than hair color. I can get 8 weeks out of an application and that is swimming 5 times a week and daily shampooing. I will planning on continuing to use this product.

This was not as messy as expected, but I color my black hair with this product and after eight hours only the roots showed a trace of this product. Maybe I will have to try this a few more times before it takes the color, but I am not sure if I have the patience to do so.

I use Henna to color my hair 4 weeks ago and I'm still impressed with quality and price. I'll be a Henna girl as long as I choose to color my hair!

I was very unhappy with the whole process. It is VERY messy and after going through all that - it didn't work! Was very frustrating and I had to start all over with a different product!

5 Star Review   By Angelaca1013 on Puritans Pride - Nov 29, 2012

I am African American with soft, fine hair that is below my shoulders and 15% grey. I am six months into transitioning my hair from a relaxer to natural. So I have two differnt textures going on right now. My first concern trying any hair product is whether or not it will work well on my hair without causing damage. I used the chestnut Henna and added coconut oil and ACV like the directions suggested for grey hair. My first time got a little messy while I was adding the mixture to my hair from a bowl. And I worked too slowly putting the henna in, so I had to keep adding hot water and stirring it to finish. The second time I applied the mixture I used a bottle with a tip on it and that worked sooo much better. The mixture didn't smell the best, but it works! EVEN on grey. I have been using hair dyes and rinses for 20 years and I have never once gotten the natural looking color and healthy benefits from those products. I covered my head in Saran wrap and a bonnet and slept in the mixture overnight. I was not prepared for the grainy, messy shower that I had to clean the next day but that is a small price to pay for how well the product works. I used Nexxus conditioner after I rinsed the henna out for about 15 minutes. The price for this henna is about 1/5 the price of what I was paying for store bought color and 1/10 the price of having my hair professionally colored. My hair is really shiny and in any light it has a beautiful chestnut glow. By no means am I vain, but I really enjoy seing my hair in a mirror when I'm out in the sunshine. My family and coworkers have all noticed the color and I get compliments regularly. I'm placing another order for the Auburn color to see how I look. I think I'll mix it with the Chestnut to see what color I get.

works great, amybe a little messy
5 Star Review   By Sophia on Puritans Pride - Jun 27, 2012

It cost me about $3 (½ jar) to color my hair with Henna, instead of the usual $100 I paid at my salon; since Henna contain no chemical, it smells like kitchen herbs when you mix it, since this is my first time I did made a mess in my bathroom but wasn’t hard to clean it up and all my grey hair were gone.

5 Star Review   By OneHipNanny on Puritans Pride - Jul 25, 2011

I have been using this henna for over 10 yrs now. My hairdresser (a lovely 21yr old) thought I had another hairdresser for coloring and that person was doing a fantastic job putting highlights in my hair & that that highlighting job looked perfectly natural. Well, nope. I have med to dark brown hair and when the gray hairs got too much to pluck I tried OTC chem. colorants a few times. After several months with fighting that straight line of roots plus the deteriorating condition of my hair from the OTC products I thought there had to be a better way. I did not want to spend the up to $100 to have a professional coloring (every 4-6wks?), oh no. With nothing to loose, in my view, I bought a tub of henna. OMG. Not only did my gray hairs now look like perfectly natural lighter brown highlights, I found the best truth (was this a secret?). Henna is a natural conditioner. Now my hair shines on! No more wild hairs popping out either. The natural fade never leaves a colorant line as the hair grows - and mine grows fast. Once a month I spend an evening with a henna 'mud pack' on my head. Timing is NEVER a concern since extra time with it on just makes for deeper conditioning. Go on. Give it a try. Save those precious aging hair follicles and go like Cleopatra with your own natural style.
