Happily, he chose not to do so, and continued making fiery, passionate music nearly the equal of the early singles that made his name.
Released in 1995, CATFISH BLUES is a sharp, satisfying album that sounds like it could have been recorded at any point in King's long career. Wisely eschewing any attempt to modernize the arrangements or reach for a crossover pop hit, King and band stick to what made the man a blues legend: emotive vocals and stinging guitar. The smoking "You've Done Lost You Good Thing Now" is a particular highlight. minimize
