These Cincinnati throwbacks have moved away somewhat from the contemporary stomp that infiltrated their self-titled debut. LET IT RIDE does just that, keeping it loose-limbed and hazy, forging a pastiche of hard blues, seductive psychedelia, and no-nonsense rock swagger. "Give And Give" is the record's finest few minutes, channeling the macho slinkiness of mid-period T. Rex. In fact, moments of pure guitars-blazing amplification are rare on this surprising sophomore set, but when they do arrive (as on the title track), they offer a meaty complement to RIDE'S predominantly sleazy, easy-going atmosphere. minimize
