EVERYTHINGS TUESDAY is a greatest-hits compilation from Charimen of the Board, featuring 22 cuts from the Detroit soul quartet highlighted by "Give Me Just a Little More Time" and "You've Got Me Dangling on a String."The Chairmen of the Board scored a slew of soul/pop gems for Invictus Records. The group was initially billed to feature four lead singers: stuttering/shaky-voiced General Johnson, hard soul-singing Danny Woods, acid rockish Harrison Kennedy, and smooth R&B/soul crooner Eddie Custis. Johnson quickly became the dominant lead, with Woods ("Pay to the Piper") a distant second; Kennedy and Custis led songs occasionally -- always album cuts -- and Custis was the first to exit the group. This 22-song Import compilation is an essential collection of the Chairmen of the Board's prime cuts. They missed some very nice B-sides (i.e., "When Will She Tells Me She Needs Me"), but track for track you won't find a better bundle of their hits, including "Give Me Just a Little More Time," the title track, "Patches," "You've Got Me Dangling on a String," and later singles "Elmo James," "Finders Keepers," and "Everybody Party All Night." ~ Andrew Hamilton
