Description
The sequel to the racing smash THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS may not have Vin Diesel as its star, but it burns with even higher octane than its predecessor, and a whole lot less extraneous drama. Back in action is undercover cop Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) whose career has hit the skids since he let Diesel's character escape at the last film's end. He has sunk in status and is now a fringe dweller on the Miami street racing scene. A chance at redemption arrives when the fuzz recruits him to investigate Carter Vellone (Cole Hauser), a top-dog street racer with dangerous drug connections. O'Connor recruits his bickering childhood pal (model/singer Tyrese), now a nitro-burning ex-con from the Diesel school of toughness, to help him pull the bad guys to the curb with a tire-spinning vengeance.John Singleton (BOYZ IN THE HOOD, HIGHER LEARNING) directed, and obviously had great fun delivering, a straight-up racing thriller that's free of the message-bearing pressure of being a "John Singleton film." 2 FAST fairly roars off the screen with comic book exuberance and a cheerful disregard for anything that gets in the way of its forward momentum. Best of all is Tyrese, a natural, laid-back star--he's not afraid to poke fun at his own shirtless model-boy image and amply compensates for the mighty Vin's absence. Rapper Ludacriss is also memorable as O'Connor's mechanic, as is model Devon Akoi as a cute female racer.

I bet they got pretty deep into production of this movie before a intelligent passerby observed that "Faster and Furiouser" might not be the best name for the sequel.
Did not even come close to the original in any way. Everything from beginning to end makes little sense and offers no real entertainment. A lot of gimmicks and stunts are thrown in to wow the morons. Everyone else just walked away realzing Diesal made the right choice by not doing the sequel.
I am not into all the computer graffics I like the good old fashion stunt men.
I somewhat enjoyed the first one, but this one was a total waste and an obvious attempt to capitalize on the surprising success of the first film. I never thought I'd say this, but it probably would've been more tolerable with Vin Diesel in it.
Fake propaganda. They make economy cars look like their like freaking Lamborghini's. How many domestic vehicles were in this movie compared to the import number? Interesting. I wonder how much the car companies were paid to make thier cars really fast.
With Diesel, this film is a real turkey.
It was great!I really had doubts going in to watch this movie because of the fact that Paul Walker was the only main character from the first movie returning. But i must admit,he actually managed to carry the film (with alot of help from co-star Tyrese) beyond the original blockbuster.I never thought they could make a good sequel without Vin Diesel, but i was wrong.Truth is,Vin should have starred...
2 Fast 2 Furious (DVD - 2003)
Best career move for Vin Diesal; not being in a pointless sequel. Thge cars took center stage as usual because the plot was horrible. When you have a movie with Ludicris and Tyrese, what would you expect?
