Description
A slapstick spoof of police thrillers and action films by the makers of AIRPLANE, THE NAKED GUN stars Leslie Nielsen as Lt. Frank Drebin. This comic cop and master car-crasher must protect Queen Elizabeth II when world terrorists target her for assassination during her visit to the U.S. Despite this high-level assignment, Frank still has time to fall in love with a younger woman (Priscilla Presley), and nearly destroy the world several times over while trying to save it. Considerably more successful than the TV series it was based on (POLICE SQUAD!), this zany parody led to two sequels and a comedy career for Leslie Nielsen, then known mainly for his role in FORBIDDEN PLANET.

I love this movie! While the comedy is most of the time revolved around stupidity, you just can't help but laugh. Leslie Nielson and Priscilla Presely were made for their respective roles.

AMZAING! This should have been on the AFI's top 100 comidies, and is definatly not credited enough.
Why is this movie not at least in the top twenty. Every scene makes you laugh at least once, some require you to rewind because you were laughing so much you missed some of the jokes. Shame on all of you who gave this movie less than four stars.

This movie is funny as hell. This is pre dating all the horrible Naked Gun sequels and terrible Leslie Neilson comedy flicks like Mr. Magoo and Spy Hard. This is when people knew what show the movie was based off of. What cracks me up about it even more these days is O.J.'s involvment in the film. The guy is hilarious! Alot of great stupid wacky humor. Well worth watching.
