Description
The Lake Shore Strangler, a mass murderer who has plagued the Chicago area for months, meets his untimely end when he gets shot in a toy warehouse. Left for dead, the killer summons the strength to recite a voodoo chant which causes his soul to be "reincarnated" into one of the dolls resting on the shelves. The incantation also sparks an unnatural lightning storm, and when lightning hits the warehouse, it burns to the ground. Only one doll survives: the doll possessed by the killer's soul. Later, a mother innocently buys this doll as a present for her son. At first, everything seems fine, but soon the doll starts communicating with the young boy. Then he slays the child's babysitter. That's only the first of his many gruesome exploits, however. So watch out...because just when you think Chucky's gone--he might be coming back. Horror master Tom Holland (FRIGHT NIGHT) directs this horror classic that spawned several sequels.

Cool idea, a real "voodoo doll". IT was not so scary as it was creepy and distrubing...(I think is when the cabbage patch dolls starting to slide down in popularity). Kinda funny too. Too bad they had to make all the stupid sequels to it. Stick with the first one.
The movie was rivoting. It was my most favorite movie when I was a child. I still watch the movie to this day.
Yeah, I admit the idea of a doll coming to life scares me (unless it's Barbie). This one beats the others, although the second one was okay. How many times can a doll be burned, shot, ripped apart,,etc. before it becomes entirely unbelievable?
I saw this on TV a few times. A young boy gets the doll he always wanted for his birthday. Little does he know that the doll is possesed by a serial killer, who starts going on a killing spree. Not really scary, and there are even a few laughable parts.
The best of the series. The premise is stupid but it actually works pretty well. Rent it.
Child's Play (Blu-ray/DVD - 1988)
The first one rocked. They should have stopped there...
