Ordered a Gigaset One Mobile & Home Phone Connector on Thursday Nov 18 2010 By Tuesday I had not heard a word and my order status was "still processing" so I called and was told I'm on back order, it should arrive by DECEMBER 21, 2010 ... Ordered a hard drive Officemax offered on their website. A week later they sent me an email canceling my order because they said their automated pricing system incorrectly offered the price too low. My father had the same experience on a different item at at different time. Very poor customer service and I will never buy from them again. It amazes me they stay in business. Overall Rating

My order on a laptop was shipped quickly and arrived safely. The price was outstanding and also had an unadvertised rebate from HP so a bonus. They did however not pack this item very well. The laptop box was inside a bigger box with absolutely no padding. Got lucky on no shipping damage as UPS likes to punt boxes these days. Overall Rating

Officemax has advertised heavily for Yearend sale. I have purchased HP TouchSmart tx2-1270us 12.1" Laptop PC during year end sale. Officemax has debited my credit card for the amount and later informed that they have discontinued the product and hence will not be able to honor their commitment. There is no answer from they how they could sell the products they did not have and which they have discontinued. They are not ready to supply alternate model. Response at Officemax is very bad and the transaction is not reversed on the Credit Card till date. They respond that I have to work with my Credit Card company for resolution and they will not help in any way. I would not recommend this merchant to any friend and wish Pricegrabber blacklists the merchant. Overall Rating

I still haven't received my order. I have been told over and over that it is back ordered and that another shipment is coming. But no one can tell me when I will receive my order. Like most items on their website, items status was "Ships in 1-3 days". Apparently, that doesn't mean anything. After three business days without an update, I called to find out the item was backordered. A couple days later the order status online finally changed to "backordered", however the item was also listed as discontinued on the product page. The next day it was removed completely. I called back to get details, they said it was backordered and they didn't have an ETA. I finally canceled a few days later. Considering it's almost 2010, it's hard to believe a company as large as OfficeMax doesn't have the ability to provide a live inventory on their website. I will not shop their website again unless they get their act together. Overall Rating

After a week of waiting for order, called to see what was happening. I was told that the printer was damaged in transit by shipper and being returned to officemax. They would ship another once the original was returned to them by shipper. I asked how long would this be. I was told 7-9 days. I told them to cancel the order and refund the money. I am still waiting for the refund to appear. I will not use officemax again. Overall Rating

Communication VERY POOR; 'order confirmation" email only; NO "invoice", NO "order shipped". Among WORST EVER for ORDER STATUS. Web site before and after item arrived showed status "pending" (i.e., "not processed"). Packaging was WORST EVER. Manufacture's box loosely placed in POORLY SEALED OVERSIZED BOX - NO FILLER. Item free to bounce around, tearing box. Found on my porch SLIGHTLY CRUSHED and PARTIALLY OPEN with light SNOW AND WATER INSIDE. (Had we had heavy rain water would have pooled inside.) Fortunately manufacture's box not crushed or torn, just slightly damp. Haven't yet opened it to see if item is undamaged. DRIVER DIDN'T WAIT FOR SIGNATURE, UNSATISFACTORY given cost of item ($700). Was offered option of leaving signed consent form on door, but DID NOT DO SO. Overall Rating

After Officemax canceled my order it took over a month to get a refund. I got that only after filing a complaint with Paypal and the BBB. I tried calling numerous times during the process only to have them feed me a bunch of lies. They said the product has shipped out the first two times I called. Then the next few times I called they said they canceled the order but my money was refunded. The money was not refunded. The effort I had to go through to get my money back was inexcusable. I would do my business elsewhere. Overall Rating

Today is Dec. 12 and Customer service says it is on backorder and cannot inform me when the shipment will come in, at least not until Dec 17. So, I have to wait up to another week before I can even find out if my printer will be delivered before the decade is finished. Oh, and to add insult to injury, Pricegrabber shows the printer "in stock" still, although now it is back to retail price. The only reason I am keeping the order in is that the price is $350 cheaper than the current list at Officemax.com right now. Overall Rating

Officemax is the most horrible place to make online shopping. They took my order and promised to deliver within 1-3 days. Now after several days they are saying that they are out of stock and they cancelled my order. They said they have a problem in their software. They don't respect customer and their on call customer service is extremely rude. I will never oder from Officemax ever in my life. If you want to get harassed and want to deal with extreme difficulties, just order from Officemax and life will turn hell with them. Overall Rating

(Edited March 02nd by jklugmn)  the item was marked "delivered by 1-3 days." it is now 7 days and counting. furthermore there is no tracking information supplied on the website. i called customer service and they were unable to provide any information about where it was, when i might get it, or how to track it. furthermore i was put on hold for substantial periods with obnoxious music. this case is still unresolved. ps. 1 day later. they say they can't cancel the oder since it's "shipped," but they have no clue from where, with what carrier or any tracking info. if it ever arrives i'm shipping it back, meanwhile i've ordered from elsewhere. This is the worst buying experience that I ever had during my past 10 years of buying from the web merchants. I ordered a laser printer from Officemax on 12/09/06 and I never received the item until a month later they claim that it was not available in my local area despite tha fact that on their web site the item is still listed as available at a much higher price. They cancled my my order without my consent. Essentially they false advertised the printer with a low price trying to attract the customers and never fullfilled their responsibility. I talked with the supervisor of the customer office and it was just another bad experience, totally useless. I will never buy from Officemax ever again. Overall Rating

This was the WORST online shopping experince I have EVER had. They took my order and it was not until I called because my order did not ship in the "usual" timeframe outlined on the site that they told me they sold out of my order. Then, we it did come in stock, they could not guarentee it would come in time for Christmas...this is AFTER I already paid for expedited shipping. Further, my order has not arrived and I just an additional $20 charge on my statement with no explination why. I will never, ever again do business with the company. Their customer service is awful and I am not the only one to feel this way, thier voicemail is too full for me to leave a message. DO NOT USE ACORTECH FOR ANY ONLINE PURCHASES. They will over bill you and not deliver your order. Overall Rating

I ordered a Memory Card on November 24, 2006. I received an invoice stating that the item was in stock and would be shipped in 4 days. I received an email again on November 29th stating now that the item was backordered. I specifically bought the card for a trip to Hawaii the 5th of December. I phoned Office Max, only to be told that it would not be in until, at the earliest, December 15. That is a bunch of garbage. I could have purchased another memory card online for almost the same price. Now, I have to go uptown and pay a higher price because Office Max falsely lists items as in stock and sells them when apparently they don't even have them. Not a good practice. Being a company of that size, they should know what is in stock, backordered, etc., at the time of the sell and should inform you of this. I would definitely NEVER shop there again. Advice is to stay clear if you care about getting your item in a reasonable timeline. Overall Rating

It has been 2 weeks since I placed the order and they can't even tell me when will it ship. At the time I placed the order the mouse was "in stock" projected to be delivered within 4 days. Now they are telling me it is backordered and don't know when it will be in! This is a common product that has not been discontinued...I would stongly recommend shopping somewhere else no matter how big their sale is. Update 11/8/06 - I was just informed by Office Max that they are no longer carrying this product (even though it is not being discontinued by the Manufacturer) and they are cancelling my order. Wow, thanks for letting me wait 2 weeks before telling me. Overall Rating
