Great quality
5 Star Review   By harlysmom1 on PETCO - Mar 3, 2012    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

Got this fountain about 2 weeks ago. Very well made. Easy to assemble. Love the stainless, think it will last much better than plastic. My cat won't drink water from gravity water bowls. He waited until I got home and turned on sink faucet to drink. He played in the fountain when I first set it up, however he seems to be drinking from it now. I have to add water every day, and I don't think it is all due to evaporation. Just poor water out of a cup into bowl and it is good to go!! Unit is not noisy at all!

My cats love it
5 Star Review   By BentleyandElliesMom on PETCO - Feb 7, 2012    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

The first night we set up the fountain, my cats drank more water than I have seen them drink EVER. It has been wonderful. It's easy to clean and it keeps the water fresh and cold. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves and spoils their cats like I do.

Kitty and I are both pleased with this purchase.
5 Star Review   PETCO    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

We have had this fountain for a month. Most important is that Kitty drinks much more water from a fountain than a bowl. Next important feature is that this fountain is much easier to clean than the previous one we had. It is also smaller and takes up less floor space.

Good...but broke within a month
4 Star Review   By McCoy512 on PETCO - Feb 1, 2012    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I decided to get a fountain due to my cat having bladder infection issues. I used to have a Drinkwell fountain, but it started leaking so I stopped using it for nearly six months. It was loud and a pain to clean. Then I got another kitty and decided to figure out why the Drinkwell was leaking. Turns out the opening where the motor/pump goes had cracked. There was an inch long crack right in the plastic and no way to fix it so I started looking for a new fountain. I ran across this one on the Petco website and the reviews were great. I even looked at it in the store and then purchased it online due to the great deals being offered. I didn't start using it until a week after Christmas. Wow! What a quiet motor. I couldn't even hear it when I was in the next room. And it's so easy to clean! I have hard water and have to use a water softner and the gunk that built up in the Drinkwell made the plastic slimey. That build up doesn't happen with the stainless steel design. I love it. Any both my cats love it. They played with it for ten minutes straight after I set it up. The only thing I can complain about is that within three to four weeks (during the week of 1/16) the motor/pump stopped working. I'm planning on taking it back to the store and exchanging it for the same model. I hope I just got a bad motor - of all the reviews I read not one mentioned this problem. So, I do think overall it's a good purchase and worth the money, but if the second one has the same issue I am going to have to revise my review.

Compact, attractive, and useful
5 Star Review   By Nitisie on PETCO - Jan 24, 2012    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

This is the best water fountain for cats that I have ever owned. I have 3 cats, and all 3 gravitate to the fountain daily. I no longer have to worry that their water needs are being met. That they're drinking filtered, running water is a bonus. I also love that it's made out of stainless steel and not plastic. No parts that can break off... It's compact and fits nicely in a corner in the kitchen. It fits in nicely with any kitchen decor. Most especially, it got my male cat drinking water on a much more regular basis. He rarely drank out of the water bowl before I started using fountains, and he really seems to like this fountain.

My 2 cats enjoy the fountain
5 Star Review   By tigre on PETCO - Jan 4, 2012    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

Excellent quality for price; the stainless steel stays clean. Product is quiet; my cats consume twice the water they did previously. The service was outstanding: I ordered this product only three days before Christmas, expecting not to receive it until after the holidays. The fountain arrived Christmas Eve day! Extra filters, which were back-ordered, were delivered less than a week later.

She likes it!
5 Star Review   By kvjo on PETCO - Dec 29, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

Our little darling prefers waters that are right from the spigot or flavored with seafood. This was a big experiment that went right. She likes it! It does make a bit of noise, but putting a piece of cushy drawer liner under it cut most of that. We like the cleanability of the stainless and it looks so much nicer in our home. Now we don't have to worry about her getting enough fluids.

Great! Easier to Clean than others
5 Star Review   By efsaturn on PETCO - Dec 20, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I've had this for about a year. It is great. My 2 cats love it. I have a different fountain years ago and thought I was keeping it clean until I found a hidden part that was not. This pioneer raindrop fountain is easy to clean. Recently, after a cleaning it stopped working. I looked online at youtube and found a video from pioneer on how to clean and take apart the motor. Now it works great. I recommend doing this cleaning periodically. The filters seem relatively inexpensive if you buy the box of 3.

Just received the new fountain last week and my cats haven't stopped drinking and playing in it. They absolutely love it and so do I! The last fountain we had was plastic and stayed dirty all the time. I am looking forward to this new stainless steel one. This should be so much healthier for my two little ones.

4 Star Review   By 2catsinmyhouse on PETCO - Nov 28, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I love that it's stainless. It took a bit for my cats to get into it, but they are enjoying it now. One of them drinks regularly from the faucet - he really likes the bubbling action from the top as well as where it pours down the side. It is also quite quiet; you can tell the motor is on (hums) but it's not bad at all. Since I've only had it a few days, I don't know how hard it is to clean; my grade may go up or down once I do that! Right now - two paws up!

Louder than my refrigerator
1 Star Review   By cakawalka on PETCO - Oct 3, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

Stainless steel isn't real thick and the motor is tiny. Causing the lid to vibrate- makes an awful racket- even louder than my fridge. Called pioneerpet about 20 mins ago asking for a replacement pump since I don't enjoy having to manually restart my pump everyday. And even though I own fish tanks and a catit fountain so am familiar with submersible pumps, the woman treated me as if I was just another uninformed person not listening to anything I said until finally sighing and agreeing to send a replacement. Making sure to warn me that she was also sending a box so that I could send the non defective(in her mind) pump back. Avoid this cheaply made yet expensive product

This product is okay
3 Star Review   By NJ2Cats on PETCO - Oct 2, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

The product is easy to take apart so you can run it through the dishwasher for a good cleaning, and easy to put back together. I like the stainless steel. However, the little motor is noisy and combined with the water bubbling out the top it took two days for my cats to not be afraid of it. Wish it was quieter!

Noisy, unattractive drinking fountain
2 Star Review   By CeeD on PETCO - Sep 13, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

My two cats (age one and three) have always drank out of a three tier waterfall that is for decoration. It is very hard to clean, but they love it. I read the reviews on this one (mostly good) and thought I would give it a try. I must have gotten one of the bad one. This thing is so noisy and I have tried everything to try to get it not to be so noisy. Adjusted the pump, placed it on a mat, on a rug, etc. They are to afraid of the noise, they won't get close enough to see what it is all about. I might as well make plans to return it.

I love this and so do my cats. They were entertained by the water coming up out of the top and it's REALLY QUIET! It's easy to clean and it's better than plastic, the stainless steel doesn't hold bacteria. I would recommend this to anyone who has cats. Not for large dogs definately, but cats, defiantely, I'm going to get another one!

Drinking Fountain
4 Star Review   By RobertM on PETCO - Sep 2, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

Though I say I would recommend it to a friend, that would be a friend with small animals, but especially cats. I have a cat that enjoys the bubbling fountain part, but two dogs @ 60 lbs each that have to find where to put their tongues as the exposed water opening is so small. Its a nicely made product, easy to disassemble and assemble for cleaning, but they should put in the description the overall size of the product and openings

Awesome!
5 Star Review   By AliAndDogs on PETCO - Aug 31, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I had previously purchased a Petmate Freshflow drinking fountain and was completely disappointed with it. I opted for this one after more research. It's incredibly easy to clean, simple and quiet! I thought the old fountain was quiet until I got this one. The stainless steel doesn't harbor bacteria like the plastic ones. I love how easy is it to refill and take apart and it stays clean much longer than the plastic ones. The dogs drink out of it with no hesitation. The cat loves it too, she drinks out of the top where the water bubbles up. There is not one thing that I don't like about it. Highly recommend!!!

WOW! This is so quite that I have to check to see that it really is running! Very sleek looking as well! I think this maybe our best purchase ever! I was a bit disappointed that there is still a bit of plastic in the unit but it is still a thousand times better than another units. Now, if you would please put a PetCo in Castle Rock!!!!

So Easy To Clean Bubbler
5 Star Review   By Babalaah on PETCO - May 29, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

We had a Drinkwell Platinum Plus fountain for our cat. This fountain is so much easier and faster to clean! It's stainless steel so it can be scrubbed, it doesn't retain odors, and there are no sharp edges like there was on our plastic Drinkwell fountain. The pre-filter does a good job of blocking large particles and the charcoal filter keeps the water fresh. I also like the fact that the pump can be opened , the impeller removed and cleaned. The pump is very quiet and doesn't make the loud plastic on plastic vibration that we had with the Drinkwell. I did have to adjust the pump volume when first setting it up -- it was a very low stream; I just moved the flow adjuster lever back and forth several times and re-installed the pump and it works fine. It's easy to monitor the water level and all I have to do is pour a glass of water into the bowl to refill. My cat enjoys an ice cube once in a while too! It seems to be very high quality and I don't think you can beat this fountain! (It's really a bubbler - there is no free-FALLING water - it bubbles up at the top and streams down the channel on the lid).

I have two of these and all of my cats (17) love them. Even with my hard water, I can run a little white vinegar through it (without the filter) and its as good as new. Simple easy design and no more feline acne from the plastic fountain!

Mr. Clean
4 Star Review   By bubbaboy on PETCO - Feb 20, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

Well the fountain is simple and very easy to clean. Our oldest cat really misses the Petmate, but she had mild acne and was the reason we purchased a metal fountain. The newer kitty drinks from it but I'm not sure the old kitty has partaken yet. Pros: it is easy to clean, quiet, sleek modern style, and small footprint. Cons: it still has some plastic (more than I expected - pump, pump housing, and filter itself), and it looks like a bed pan.

I previously purchased a water fountain for my two cats, but neither cat used it. This one may be a bit more expensive, but since my cats use it, it makes me much happier! It may be because the other one was plastic, rather than stainless steel which is better for them.

My cats have used this water fountain for over a month now. I find it to be very quiet. I've purchased several other types and find this one to be the easiest to clean. My only complaint is not having a resevoir to hold additional water. I also would not complain if the price were to go down.

So Far - Great!
5 Star Review   By munchiesmom on PETCO - Feb 3, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I bought this fountain for my 16 year old kitty who has always jumped up onto the bathroom counter for her water. Now that she is up in years, it was apparent she was having difficulty and just refused to drink (or acknowledge) water in a bowl on the floor. I purchased this two weeks ago and I'm extremely pleased. First - it is practically whisper-quiet. Second - it is an attractive design and not a monstrosity. Third and most important - my old girl took to it right away! Yes, I had to coax her over and keep putting my finger in the water & letting her lick my finger. Now, she doesn't even think about the bathroom counter anymore. Oh and fourth - it's easy to clean...only took me 10 minutes! Awesome...my girl is worth it!

Great Find
5 Star Review   By DrPatti on PETCO - Jan 27, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

The stainless steel tear drop shaped Pioneer Pet water fountain has finally solved the problem of keeping fresh water available for two feral cats, currently residing in my sunroom (following their rescue and spaying) as they constantly spilled water from everything else that I tried. They seem to enjoy the bubbling water from the pump and leave the container alone in one place. The manufacturer's recommended replacement fillters seem to hold up well and the suggested time to change them is between 2-4 weeks. The container is cleaned and water changed at least once a week, and additional water added when the level in the container lowers. The pump is quiet unless the level becomes too low (and that is not good for the pump either!) Purchasing the filters on-line with PETCO has saved me money, too. I'm very happy with this product.

Amazing Product
5 Star Review   By tickytackywho on PETCO - Jan 16, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I ordered this on-line and have owned it now for about three weeks. We love this product. This is the only stainless steel automatic waterer we could find, and the Pioneer brand name had great reviews. I did order the larger version of this one. It is named the Pioneer Big Max. We have several cats, and they love it. It is super quiet and attractive. My only wish is that PETCO would carry this product in the store. I went to PETCO looking for the filter refills, only to find it is not available.

Worst Made Product
1 Star Review   By Rialto on PETCO - Jan 15, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

The parts did not fit well, in particular, the housing of the motor. The motor itself did not work well and stopped working altogether after 2 days of use. The fountain rattled loudly. I found it a total waste of money. I'm going back to purchasing my best cat fountain ever from Catit.

5 Star Review   By Raisinet on PETCO - Jan 2, 2011    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

The water pump is the best choice I could have made it keeps the water nice and cool. I don't see food particles in the water and it is quiet. Stainless steel is much better no bacteria I don't have to worry. The filter is great that goes with the pump. It is very nice and perfect for my yorkie she seem to be drinking more from this pump than the prior pump I had. The pump is not big and bulky but rather sleek and elegant..

4 Star Review   By TokiJ on PETCO - Dec 15, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I've had the fountain for about 2 weeks, and so far I am very happy with it. It was easy to set up and is quiet. On the lowest setting, there is only a slight hum. The other settings are louder, but I keep it on the lowest. My cat ignored the fountain for 2 days, but then suddenly started drinking from it. Now he loves it. I have noticed a lot more clumps in the litter box (I scoop every day so I can always tell). He is definately drinking more.

Perfect!
5 Star Review   By Chris2991 on PETCO - Dec 12, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

We have three cats, two will only drink from running water, one will only drink from a bowl - but for first time I have all three drinking from the same bowl! It's great, it's quiet, doesn't leak or overflow, holds plenty of water, is happy in the dishwasher (once you remove the pump - and that's easy), and it beats its plastic competitors hands down. This is the second one I've bought; now I can rotate them and leave the dirty one in the dishwasher with everything else rather than have to hurry to get it cleaned. I can confirm that all the humans and felines in this house are happy with our purchase!

Cat gives fountain 5 paws
5 Star Review   By zayane on PETCO - Nov 7, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

This is a very quiet fountain. There is no motor sound at all. The unit is easy to assemble and easy to clean. The size is good for a small kitchen. The cat was startled by it for a few seconds, then sniffed it. Three days later I saw her drinking from it. She loves her new fountain.

Good material, bad fountain
1 Star Review   By danik on PETCO - Oct 31, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

When I saw a stainless steel water fountain I didn't even think to twice to buy it for my 2 kitties. I thought I'd do an upgrade from the Petwell plastic fountains. What a disappointment. The filter case didn't close up properly. There was a lot of water spilled all the time until I placed a mat on one end so that the fountain would be tilted to the side. It didn't spill that much after that (but still did). And the the slime! It got sooo slimy so fast. Yes, It cleaned faster, but I had to clean it way too often. Finally, after 3 moths, the motor just stopped working all together. When I put the Petwell fountain back for my kitties they were glued to it for so long. They had been so thirsty. I even had to pull them away for a bit cause I was afraid they were drinking too much water at once. Poor babies.

AWESOME!
5 Star Review   By GottaLovePets on PETCO - Oct 9, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

After struggling with constantly cleaning the water bowl for my 3 chihuahua's i went looking for a fountain. I actually purchased this at a Petco store. i walked out thinking i could always return it but NO WAY! Clean, clear water..consistently even with 3 dogs using it. All 3 dogs love it and i love it because i know they are getting clean water and not water with heaven knows what floating in it! Thank you for making this product available!

Not a great fountain
2 Star Review   By fisherchick on PETCO - Oct 7, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

We've had a Drinkwell fountain with a reservoir for years and loved it. I thought I'd give this fountain a try because it is stainless steel and dishwasher safe (the Drinkwell is plastic and discolors and gets scale build up even though I handwash it regularly and use filtered water). It really doesn't hold a lot (we'll have to switch back to the Drinkwell if we go on vacation for more than a couple of days) and I'm not crazy about the fountain part. It did indeed splash over as others noted until I turned down the fountain setting.

Nice Item
4 Star Review   By twanda on PETCO - Oct 1, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I have two of these and I like the stainless steel better than the ceramic one. Hard to tell which one my two cats like better....my male cat used to drink water a lot even without the fountain, but I have a new 1year old girl who perfers the fountains. I am making my own filters using 100% polyester quilt batting from Hancock Fabrics and charcoal from Petco...much cheaper. The plastic filter casing can be gently pryed open...then use a rinsed old filter as a pattern to cut new batting pieces while your watching TV (manicuring scissors work well due to small size)...I should be able to make at least 120 filters (reusing the plastic casing each time) for about $14.

teardrop fountain-repels cats
1 Star Review   By flydoc on PETCO - Sep 26, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I have 6 cats, none of them like either of the 2 teardrop water fountains I recently bought. At first they were curious about the new noise, but have since ignored them even though they like drinking from the sink faucets. The fountains are noisy. I placed one in the master bedroom and another in the main house. Both are loud. I am returning them to the store.

Noisey piece of junk!
1 Star Review   By MP13 on PETCO - Sep 24, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I can't believe how loud this thing is. When I first set it up it was nearly silent, but over the next few hours it became louder and louder. I disassemble and thoroughly clean it weekly, but it doesn't seem to help at all. It also looks like a bedpan on my kitchen floor; it's not nearly as cool looking as the picture suggests. What a disappointment to have wasted that much money on this horrible fountain.

Cats love the fountain
5 Star Review   By HappyC on PETCO - Sep 21, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

We have several cats and most are choosing to use the fountain (even those who don't use our other fountain). We like that it's stainless steel and the cats like the bubbling fountain delivery system.

flimsy
2 Star Review   By gothamcitycat on PETCO - Sep 19, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

the ceramic type fountains are heavier hence the top/lid stays on when the pump is running..i discovered water overflows & the top off. instead of returning i'm using it as a regular bowl & saving the pump/filter since it is identical to my ceramic's.

Great Product
5 Star Review   By Sk8teacher on PETCO - Sep 19, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

This watering bowl works exactly as advertised. Easy to clean, easy to keep filled, very quiet operation. Our two cats love it. The cost of replacement filters is a little high in our opinion (over $3.00 each) but they seem to work well and better than filters for other machines we have tried. If you are in the market for a new or replacement watering system buy this one.

Automatic Stainless steel water bowl
4 Star Review   By MeowyOne on PETCO - Sep 8, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

Although the ssteel is not as heavy as I would like, I see no reason it should not hold up well for cats to drink from. Easy to use, to put together and set up-took just a few minutes to do and my cats were circling around looking it over the minute it hit the floor-two started drinking from it. I am happy to see there is something besides plastic being used as I have a cat who seems to be allergic to the plastic bowels and dishes. My only concern is the housing for the pump is made from---you guessed it !----plastic. Now I am wondering if this will impact my allergy laden cat. Although he cannot touch the plastic, the water still passes over it. Only time will tell if I made a good choice or if I blew it. !

Not great, not even good
1 Star Review   By edubs on PETCO - Sep 8, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I am pretty disappointed. It always looks dirty, runs loudly--sounds like a dishwasher running--and constantly overflows--It will run fine for hours after I've added water and made sure that it's the perfect level and then I find a large puddle and see that water is coming over the edge. The only redeeming factor? The the cats like it and will use it whether the motor is running or not. I think I would have done better with a large bowl of water.

Works Great
4 Star Review   By PetPeeve on PETCO - Sep 5, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I've had this for about a week. Prior to this, I had the Drinkwell Platinum and the CatIt fountains. Bacteria doesn't seem to be growing in this like the other fountains, and this is a breeze for taking apart to clean with so few parts. Also, it's extremely quiet, much quieter than the Drinkwell Platinum. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is it doesn't hold as much water as the others I had. Also, with the two sitting side-by-side, my cats showed a definite preference for the Drinkwell Platinum. Once I removed the Drinkwell, though, they took to this just fine. One minor note, on the highest setting, water leaks out onto the floor. I keep it on the next setting down and have had no problems. This is definitely a great purchase for those looking for a quiet fountain that's easy to clean and doesn't require as much maintenance as other fountains.

Great Product!
5 Star Review   By ALW47 on PETCO - Aug 25, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

Finally a water fountain that is easy to clean! This can dish can be put in the dishwasher and has no small crevices like most water fountains that I have used in the past. It is virtually noise free, I can barely hear anything if at all (as you can see in the video). The unit is very easy to fill also, just pour right into the bowl and you are done...unlike all other units that have reservoirs that need filling which can be annoying and get a lot dirtier. We have hard water and being able to put this unit in the dishwasher will keep it a lot cleaner and more sanitized than the other plastic units we have used. Our cat just loves it, fresh and clean.

No More Cat Acne!
5 Star Review   By 2cats2puppies on PETCO - Aug 20, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I needed a water dish that wouldn't give my cats acne... so no plastic. They were always trying to drink from the faucets so I really wanted to get them their own fountain that filters. I got one of these and they LOVE it. It's easy to clean, durable, and quiet. I've had it for over a year now with no problems. That being said I just adopted 2 puppies that can't get enough of the running water, but my cats don't want to drink after them. Now I'm spending another $50 so both pets can have their own. I do notice with the puppies I have to add more water daily and clean the water at least weekly but they're happy so it's worth it!

Love it
5 Star Review   By Jibeho on PETCO - Aug 19, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

Cat's took to it in no time. Initially, they only drank out of the pool side, now they are drinking from the stream. The aluminum looks so much better than random colored plastic of other fountains. Haven't had to clean it, but should be easy since it comes wide apart and there are no tight spots. My only complaint is that sometimes it hums a bit loud. My wife has a few other house fountains and it really isn't any louder than any of them, however. I just wish I could cut down on the noise pollution. You won't be disappointed if you get this one!

So-So
3 Star Review   By LaurenNY on PETCO - Aug 10, 2010    ( See more reviews from PETCO )

I have purchased many pet fountains in the past. In fact I currently have a Drinkwell 360 as well as the Pioneer Raindrop fountain. What attracted me to the Raindrop was the fact that it was stainless steel so it would stay cleaner than the plastic fountains. I've had it for a little over a week now and it does stay cleaner however, if you overfill it, even just a little bit, or you bump into it, it pours down the little waterfall and goes all over the floor. So, you pretty much have to keep the water at a somewhat precise level because if it gets too low it will make a terrible noise and if it's too high it will soak your floor. I also was expecting a thicker stainless steel and was disappointed when it arrived and I found out it was thin stainless steel. The housing for the pump is plastic and it uses a charcoal filter which I rinsed thoroughly and after a few days there was still charcoal dust floating in the water. Haven't had this issue with previous fountains. I guess overall I am somewhat satisfied and somewhat disappointed. My favorite fountain by far is the Drinkwell 360. It takes a little more upkeep but my cats and dog love it and it holds a good amount of water.
