Reconcile is indicated for the treatment of canine separation anxiety in conjunction with a behavior modification plan. For Dogs (at least 6 months of age and weighing at least 8.8 lbs) Benefits Reconcile is a flavored, chewable tablet that is given to your dog once daily to relieve separation anxiety. Reconcile reduces the frequency of separation anxiety behaviors and produces a calmer, less anxious pet when combined with a simple training plan. Active Ingredients Fluoxetine Hydrochloride Cautions Do not stop giving this medication to your pet unless directed by your veterinarian. The dose needs to be slowly decreased over time. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication or supplements you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. The following drugs can potentially interact with fluoxetine: warfarin, phenylbutazone, digoxin, diazepam, haloperidol, lithium, l-tryptophan, tricyclic antidepressants, buspirone, thioridazine, perphenazine, cimetidine, propafenone, flecainide, encainide, monoamine oxidase inhibitors - i.e. selegiline, l-deprenyl, isoniazid, Mitaban dip. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching. Side Effects Side effects may include drowsiness, decrease in appetite, stomach upset, diarrhea, restlessness, trouble sleeping, hyperactivity, panting and irritability. If these symptoms persist, contact your veterinarian. Notify your veterinarian if any symptoms are troublesome and continue. Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian. Usage Reconcile should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian.
