Great drip irrigation tubing!
5 Star Review   By MikeinDFW on Home Depot - Feb 12, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Pretty much what the description says - 1/4" tubing with emitters. The nice thing is that the emitters are every 6 inches, which is hard to find. I just wish my local HD would carry them again, but free shipping makes it close to a wash. I use this stuff for dense flower beds and vegetable gardens - works like a champ!

Excellent dripper but I discovered a limit in application
4 Star Review   By Lou81 on Home Depot - Jun 14, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Backround of user. I am not a contractor but a retired person who helps others to water their garden with a timer instead of watering with a hose. When you use any drip line emitter, you must reduce bib water pressure to 25 PSI, include a vacuum breaker and a filter. Then you transition from a 1/2" distribution line to the 1/4" blue line emitter which drips 1/2 gallon per emitter, every 6", per hour. Be aware that any line has some resistance to flowing water and that resistance reduces the net water pressure slightly. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE LAYING THIS DRIPPER LINE IN A FLOWER GARDEN AND CURVING IT NEXT A PLANT TO WATER ITS ROOTS AND THEN TURN IT TO GO TO THE NEXT PLANT TO WATER, YOU ARE ADDING SIGNIFICANT RESISTANCE TO WATER FLOW. When you are not dripping, you can use a 1/4" distribution line to move the water from point A to point B. In one recent installation, the 1/4" dripping had stopped. I decided the total resistance to the flow, the distribution line and the dripper line was too much. I replaced all the 1/4" distribution with 1/2" Blue Line distribution and it corrected my problem. In closing, the 1/4" Toro Blue Line emitter is an excellent product. Test the effective length by inserting a hose end plug in one end and connect the emitter to a water source and see right away if the net water pressure is sufficient to meet your objective of watering the intended plants. I am an active 82 year old gardener.

This tubing is really great for closely spaced vegies such as lettuce or peas.
5 Star Review   By Stew on Home Depot - May 8, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

The 6 inch spacing of the emitters allows for accurate delivery of water to each plant for closely planted veggies. The entire row is easily wetted without applying as much water as with 1-foot spaced 1/4 inch tubing.

super efficient for whole bed watering!
5 Star Review   By brxl on Home Depot - Feb 28, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This stuff is great for efficiently watering an area with many small plants (such as garden beds) because you don't have to cut a bunch of short lines and install individual emitters. We think this double-sided in-line emitter design is more reliable than the laser-drilled tubing type, and the 1/4" soaker tubing is just not consistent enough over more than a couple feet (releases lots of water/hr near the source connection and significantly less just a few feet down the run). If you mix & match emitter tubing brands, do not assume the emitter rates are the same; this 1/4" Toro Blue Stripe has 1/2gal/hr emitters every 6" but other brands may have 0.75gal and 1gal/hr emitters. I gave the quality a 4/5 because 1 out of 5 rolls I bought had a splice in it and the factory did not place the splice correctly to maintain the 6" spacing between adjacent emitters; was easy to fix, but really, I think QC should train the factory assemblers better. Good watering! -- Seaside Giving Garden

Excellent tubing when installed properly and used for the right application
5 Star Review   By Beathoven on Home Depot - Jul 3, 2011    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I've been using blue stripe ¼" emitter tubing professionally for I believe over ten years. It's the perfect thing for many applications where plantings change often or seasonally such as vegetable gardens, annual and even perennial beds. (For shrubbery I prefer to use ½" tubing with two individual emitters per plant.) It can be pulled aside to rototill. It's reliable and easy to install. I've never had a problem with functionality, algae plugging or anything like that. My only complaint is numerous short rolls (as short as 82' with 163 drippers instead of 200 - an issue I've considered reporting to the federal trade commission) Please note that even though this product comes in (supposed) 100' lengths it requires ½" feeder tubing if you are running lengths much longer than 20'. I feed it back to a main at least every 20' to assure even precipitation. The in-line emitters are long flow path type emitters and are not pressure compensating. If you connect a 100' roll to an outlet and measure the flow along a path you'll see it peter off and stop completely at a relatively short length. That is to be expected given Bernoulli's Equation for pipe flow in a ¼" tube and the drain-off of the emitters. I think Toro should warn people about this on the package to avoid misuse which I'm sure happens a lot. I only wish they sold it 1000' rolls and that they were really the stated length.

Excellent drip line
5 Star Review   By phxgardener on Home Depot - Apr 19, 2011    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I've been using this drip line (with 1/2 gal per hr emitters per every 6 inches) in my garden for over 2 years and have yet to have a plugged emitter or a blown-off line. I've tried other brands with very limited success, but Toro Blue Strip products are the superior product. In addition to being strong, they also hold up better than others under the heat and intense UV rays of the Arizona desert sun. I use them in conjunction with the Blue Strip 1/2" line and in most cases, I put a shut-off valve on each 1/4" line. This allows me to not water a given smaller area (between seasonal crops) without drying up growing perennial plants on the same line. Again, I've tried other brands, but keep coming back to Toro. It is a bit more up-front investment, but you save money (and work!) in the long run.

5 Star Review   By Texasheat on Home Depot - Jul 21, 2008    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This is good stuff. Works great. Hey start stocking this at my local store in Texas. Multi-purpose. Good tight fit on fittings. This is 200 pressure compensating 1/2 gallon emitters on a roll, 6 inch centers. That's 7 cents a piece.

Good stuff for the price
5 Star Review   By Backyarder on Home Depot - Jun 13, 2008    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I tried drilling holes into a regular 1/4" pipe as suggested by some online sites, the results were not good, flow rates varied from hole to hole. Get this stuff, its great for $5 more per 100 ft, and takes the guesswork out..
