Does the job, with a great price
4 Star Review   By Justin on Home Depot - Apr 6, 2013

As other reviews indicate, change the saw blade. I used mine with the factory blade for about 300 sq ft of tile, and when I changed the blade saw major performance improvement. I paid less than two big ones for this beast and it has done me well at that price point. Will not cut thick tiles (>1") but I have even been able to do a decent bevel with this saw. Good tool.

Excellent Saw
5 Star Review   By AMMO82 on Home Depot - Dec 31, 2010

I held off using the saw for about 8 months and when I did it prformed extremely well. I've never owned a tile saw so some of my military buddies who used this type of saw who helped me put the tile down were simply amazed at it's value for what I paid and how well it cut even with the original blade. Once I put a better blade on it it worked even better. i highly recommend it.

2 Star Review   By EK2009 on Home Depot - Dec 5, 2009

We purchased this saw because of the reviews and sale price, but we would have done much better by spending the extra money. We had a DIY tile job in a basement bathroom and needed a saw to make bevel cuts and were using 18" X 18" tiles; we were not successful with this saw. This saw does not handle large tiles at all; you have to make a partial cut, then pull the tile back, and then turn it around to cut it again! Also the table on it is too small, the leveler isn't level, and if you are using anything other than ceramic tiles it does a miserably poor job cutting it at all. We are not pleased at all. We have a cheap $30 floor saw that works a thousand times better. We are very disappointed and would not recommend this to anyone.

7" wet saw
5 Star Review   By JADA on Home Depot - Dec 4, 2009

I purchased the wet saw due to a replacement being needed. On line ordering and delivery times were good. The saw arrived undamaged . The directions to assemble were clear . The pump is somewhat lacking for anyone cutting more then 20 tiles per job. Power is fine as well as portability. Replace the original blade with a "hot dog" replacement blade. Adjusting the table takes some time but when done its done. great saw for remodels ,DIY. Well designed.

The saw
4 Star Review   By TileEffects on Home Depot - Nov 30, 2009

I have used this saw and the DeWalt $1500 saw and this one, for the money, does an excellent job. Can't speak to the longevity but I suspect as a light to medium duty tile saw it will be great and am looking forward to using it more in the future in my business.

I ordered this saw online and it was delivered in less than 1 week. I have been cutting granite tiles. I am extremely pleased with the performance. It is powerful and cuts through granite like butter. I researched several saws online and locally and this is the best buy for the power and the price. It does everything I expected.

Husky 7" Wet Saw THD950L
3 Star Review   By tilesniper on Home Depot - Nov 24, 2009

The size is nice and the motor is strong. I have gone through three or four blades and prefer the DeWalt, which has the least amount of noise and chatter. I have the same problems everyone else does that uses it often: keeping the tray square and dealing with the rubber water guard at the rear. I also find the oil reservoir hard to get to and small. But the biggest problem now is the water pump is clogged/shot and I cannot pry it open or buy a replacement. I am working with Home Depot on a replacement but am in the middle of a project and it has ground me to a halt. Will let you know how the Depot handles it.

All I can say is good things about the wet saw. The price was unbelieveable for what you get. This is no toy this is cuts the tiles like butter. No chipping whatsoever and the lazor really helps keep you on track. You can not go wrong buying this wet saw.

Works Well
5 Star Review   By Oldjedi on Home Depot - Nov 19, 2009

7" blade, table travels 17". Aluminum frame. Cuts 12" tile diagonally. Easy to move around. Being lightweight, vibration sometimes chips the tile at the beginning or end of cuts. Must feed the tile slow at the start and end of cuts. Plug does not leak. Working height is comfortable. It is still working after 150 or so cuts. 5 stars.

I love this saw!
5 Star Review   By RGill on Home Depot - Nov 13, 2009

My favorite thing about this saw is the sliding table with the top mount blade. It allows for perfectly straight cuts. I bought this as an on-line special, so I actually got it for about half of the normal retail price. The sliding table and sale price were the primary factors for buying this saw, and I'm happy to have it. I plan on several more tiling jobs around the house.

Great for DIY's
5 Star Review   By DIYEJ on Home Depot - Nov 2, 2009

First time I ever used a tile saw. What a fun new toy to play with! I used the original blade and tiled my master bath floor with porcelain tile.. The Husky 7" worked great. Lazer was a nice feature. I cut 12" and 16" tiles and used the plunge cut too. Yes, the saw is loud, but I used ear protectors. Yes, the splash guard hung up a bit, but that was a small problem. Would recommend this saw to any DIYer, even to another 62 year old lady like me. Great saw Husky and great internet price Home Depot!

Great saw for a great reduced price!
5 Star Review   By steve65 on Home Depot - Nov 2, 2009

A long time ago I borrowed one of these from a neighbor to do a small bathroom & it was perfect. When it was time for the kitchen, I started with a small wet hand saw & the long cuts weren't true enough. Bought this one & didn't need to mark full lines on the tiles anymore & you can cut in near darkness accurately with the laser running. HIGHLY recommend this for ANY "professional" looking job - especially if adding an intricate tile pattern to it!

Awesome Saw
5 Star Review   By Jetman on Home Depot - Oct 31, 2009

I bought this saw last week and I am very impressed with it. I would highly recommend this saw to anyone. The only issue I had with it was the lazer... it jumps around. The stand is sturdier than I expected. I used a contractor's wet saw the last time I installed tile and the quality of this saw is just as good. It is well worth the money.

Husky 7 In Tile Saw with Laser and Stand
5 Star Review   By Hawaii58 on Home Depot - Oct 25, 2009

My father has a tile saw that could not accommodate the 18 x 18 tile that I am using, so I decided to purchase a saw rather than rent one. I am very happy with the Husky tile saw. It was very easy to set up, very easy to use and the laser is a great feature. I had no problem cutting the larger tile and I would highly recommend this saw.

Great Saw for the $$
5 Star Review   By ClaraB on Home Depot - Oct 20, 2009

Bought this Saw to do a few finish projects in a new house. Bought specificially for a glass tile kitchen project and purchased special glass saw which cost about half of the Saw, but worth it and neccessary for glass tiles. Setup is quick and easy out of the box, I thought the battery operated laser would be cheesy, but worked GREAT and very helpful. Saw is perfect for DIY projects and easy to store. Great buy to come with table, laser and works good. Clean up really easy. REALLY happy with this would recommend it, I purchased it during an online special price and no shipping costs so I am really happy and ready for more projects.

Great Value
4 Star Review   By SC1979 on Home Depot - Oct 20, 2009

Recently finished kitchen and bathroom remodel with this saw with no issues. Tile was up to 16x16 size which fit in the slide tray easily. Blade that shipped in the box seemed to work well also. Only complaint would be that the splash guard tends to push against the larger tiles toward the end of the cut, making it difficult to keep the tray slide at a steady rate.

This is a very good saw with a lot of features for the money. It is very easy to set up and works well. This is the first wet saw I've purchased, and looked at a bunch before deciding on this one. After using it to tile a bath, I would recommend this saw to others.

Husky 7" Wet tile Saw with Laser and Stand
4 Star Review   By RodinNH on Home Depot - Oct 19, 2009

This tile saw is an excellent value and works very well considering it's price range. The sliding table works good and moves with little effort, only problem is the splash guard at the rear of the saw sometimes hangs on the table when you retract after a cut. This a minor problem and can be easily corrects with a utility knife. The saw is easy to clean up after use and is very portable, easily breaking down into saw with water tray and stand as separate pieces. The weight of the unit is just right, easy to handle but heavy enough to make cuts with confidence.

Wet saw
5 Star Review   By MDhomeowner on Home Depot - Sep 26, 2009

I'm doing a remodel with pros adding a new kitchen and purchased a $99 "cheapie saw" to do the kitchen backsplash. When my contractor saw it he told me to take it back and he would loan me his tile saw - it was the Husky THD950L. I used it for a week and found it to be a great saw. Easy to set up and use. The laser was a great help in lining up cuts. After I finished my kitchen I saw an HD ad for the saw on the internet and bought even though the kitchen remodel is complete.

5 Star Review   By TechSL1 on Home Depot - Sep 21, 2009

I upgraded from the $88 Workforce Tile Saw and WOW ! This saw is GREAT! I used it to cut brick pavers that are 2" thick. It made nice smooth cuts and the motor has plenty of power. The laser works great and the stand it comes with is heavy duty and collapses down to be hung on a wall. LOVE IT!!!!

Usable Wet Saw
5 Star Review   By TRR24 on Home Depot - Sep 10, 2009

I have to tell you first that I am not a handy man, trades person. I am the definition of the layman. This saw has been one of the easiet tools to use that I have purchased. I read all of the reviews and almost spent over 500.00 to ensure that I could complete a tile job for my wife. Instead I went ahead and bought this saw. I did listen to the advice and buy a new blade first. Dewalt Blade by the way and it cuts excellent. I also felt so good about the cuts I made with this saw that I instantly came in and created an account for HomeDepot so I could put a usable review on this site. For the future buyers, don't worry about using this product. Have the same confidence I did and buy it and use it reasonably. I am very happy with my purchase. The saw was easy to put together also. I followed the provided instructions and had it together and working in about 20 minutes. Unfortunately for me my wife was excited about the tile job getting done she now has plans for three more rooms. Looks like I will get my monies worth out the this saw.

The only positive thing is the return
1 Star Review   By ToughCustomer on Home Depot - Aug 26, 2009

May I say, The Home Depot is a class act. I returned this saw after tiling two floors. From the beginning I never got a straight cut. Table was not aligned with the blade and the fence wobbled so it was no help. I imagine in short time the flimsy pan would have met it's end. Strange but, I liked the stand. It is sturdy, has rubber non-slip front feet and locking wheels on the back. (I hated to send the stand back.) BUT, as always The Home Depot was helpful and the return was painless.

Husky tile saw
4 Star Review   By jeepman on Home Depot - Aug 3, 2009

I was looking for a intermediate wet saw for DIY prodjects. This saw is great. It has a nice lightwieght stand and pan large enough to keep from changing the water out too much. I used some teflon tape on the screws that adjust the laser to help keep it from moving. I like the laser to line up cuts. Tool is LOUD but a trade of for having a smaller sized motor. Stock blade worked good so far and cut well. I wanted a saw with a slidding table this was the best price I could find for a decent tool. Glad I got it....

Nice Saw For The Price
5 Star Review   By homealone on Home Depot - Jul 31, 2009

Purchased this saw after being displeased with the Ryobi 7 inch saw, this saw has a very nice sliding table, very little play. I too replaced the saw blade when I purchased it and I am very pleased with the way it cuts. It does make a water mess when cutting larger tile but what tile saw doesn't? The laser I thought was just a joke but after playing with it I am sold on the laser site, When it is set up properly, you can cut long tiles with extreme accuracy, Measure, mark and cut. Plunge cuts are also a breeze once you get used to the saw.

Great saw for weekend warriors
5 Star Review   By rider on Home Depot - Jul 8, 2009

I'm not a professional by any means; i do what i can when i can... I just got done doing a bathroom (walls and floor) with porcelain and ceramic tiles (est. 300 sf). I've used diag. pattern for the floor so i had a bit more cutting to do compared to some standard patterns. I didn't have to change my blade for my first small job. it was fine for what i needed to do. I'd have to agree with most of the reviewer that you need to be patient when cutting and pan is a bit flimsy. I didn't experience any wobbling of blades, may be because i was cutting slow. Since I'm a DIYer working at my own paste, speed wasn't my issue unlike the pros/contractors. Oh, i thought this saw was pretty loud. I just didn't think for a saw this small would be that loud!!! I have another bathroom and a kitchen to do... i'd guess i'll have to replace my blade soon and may be i'll update this review after more usage from this saw. Otherwise, i thought this is a great saw for DIYers who does things at their own paste.

Excellent saw! Great for the price!
5 Star Review   By dennis4627 on Home Depot - May 30, 2009

After reading some of the negative reviews about this saw I was a little skeptical at first. As a tile contractor was looking for a smaller, lighter saw for smaller tile jobs that can be easily transported to job sites without sacrificing quality and power. I bought this saw anyway and was not disappointed! It's lightweight and the 1.5hp motor is more than adequate. I do agree with everybody else that the blade that it comes with is junk. I purchased an MK Hotdog blade for about 44 bucks and it was well worth it. The saw cut tiles like butter and the laser (with a few minor adjustments) was right on point! Cleanup was a breeze and the saw has a very sturdy design. As far as splatter is concerned, every tile saw that I've ever used splatters to degree. Just keep a sheet of plastic handy and a bucket underneath and you'll be cleaned up in no time. You can't beat this saw for the price. I highly recommend it! In fact, it might be a little too much saw for a do-it-yourselfer. Overall, if you buy this saw, just make sure you buy a quality replacement blade right away. As far as the durability of the saw, as with any power tool, only time will tell. But so far, I'm extremely impressed! Buy it!

The Professional Edge
3 Star Review   By henrythefifth on Home Depot - May 28, 2009

I'm a residential maintenance worker with experience in all trades - mainly finish carpentry, flooring, tile, etc. I have also been know to do side work of all kinds up to an including K&B Remodeling. This saw is an OK one. I needed one big enough about two years ago, and i've cut approximately 5,000 ft. square with it. The cons are the table gets caught up frequently, the pump doesn't stick well inside the tray, the tray is a bit flimsy, and the cuts have to be made slowly, or the blade deflects. As far as any blade that comes with a saw goes - THROW IT AWAY!!! Buy an aftermarket blade. Also, make sure that you have a dressing stone for the wheel. It is like a pumice that roughs ups the blade to expose the diamonds in it. Without it, the blade dulls and the tiles will chip. This is a good saw, and those who don't like it is probably because of user error. The cutting arm offers tight side clearance (appx. 8") but it is possilbe to turn the tile. It takes a little skill when the majority of the tile is off the table, but its do-able.Cut slowly, grease the tracks that the sliding tray sits on, clean the pump so it doesn't clog (filter and run fresh water through it.) Other than that, I would recommend it. I have cut glass, marble, granite, ceramic and porcelain and the jobs have all been beautiful. It takes patience to learn to cut tile, so buy the saw, and go to town!

7 " tile saw
5 Star Review   By MrAstragali on Home Depot - Apr 14, 2009

The Husky 7" tile saw was easy to assemble and cuts fine with the blade provided. I have used other saws in the past and found that this one has very little "splash" when you cut, The laser guide works even in direct sunlight. Clean-up and dismantling is fast and easy. I'm very satisfied with this product.

A Little Disapointed
2 Star Review   By Night on Home Depot - Mar 24, 2009

I used this for a small 36" vanitiy counter top with ceramic tiles. I made aprox 66 cuts the longest 6.5 inches. The blade started chipping tiles at 52 cuts. Cutting really slow. The lazer stopped working while the saw ran at the 37 th cut, shut the motor off lazer worked fine. Wouldn't work while running. Did change batteries. The splash gaurd on the end catches platform and tile which allows water to sray on the floor. The pan should be longer or the saw shoud mount more o the center. I decided to eat the cost of a Rigid look for the review there..

Have to agree
4 Star Review   By DIYDave on Home Depot - Mar 23, 2009

I have to agree with almost everyone else that posted a review on this product. For the record, I am cutting 12 inch polished surface porcelain tiles for 400 square feet of flooring in a diamond pattern. The blade that comes with the saw will wear out fast and put small chips into your tile. If you are puting the cut edge where it will be coverd by baseboards or quarterround, then it doesnt really matter. I used the stock blade until it could do no more before replacing it. You definately get what you pay for when it comes to tile blades, so don't chince out. I spent 35 bucks on the new blade and the difference in cutting is blatant. This is my first tile experience, and so far I am very happy with the purchase of this product. If you are doing any decent sized job or plan to do multiple projects in your home, I would highly recommend this product for DIY with the blade replacement in mind. A better quality blade would have made this product a five star from me to the DIY'r in life. I would also like to commend Home Depot for allowing text reviews by consumers of the products they sell. I find the comments very informative methods for evaluating products that makes the researching for a purchase much easier and satisfying.

Nice saw
4 Star Review   By NMFlooring on Home Depot - Mar 15, 2009

I've used this saw for 18 inch travertine down to 4 inch wall tile with only minor complaints.Mainly that the table binds abit on large tiles or when it gets a little dirty.I just keep a can of tri flow on hand to lube the rails and its fine.I've installed over 10,000 sf of tile with this saw and it's still going strong.I laugh every time i carry it in to the job because it's so light and compact. It is a little messy, but it is A WET SAW! Put a nice blade on it and it will make you money. Nice saw.

Poor Quality Saw
2 Star Review   By dman007 on Home Depot - Mar 10, 2009

I purchased this saw for a large tile remodle in my home. I agree with the other reviews that the blade should immediately be replaced, and that the saw itself seemed decent. PROBLEM, I had to return this saw twice within two days and finally returned it and had to buy another saw because the water pump just stopped working. This happened to both saws. One worked for about two hours the other didn't work straight out of the box. If you are going to buy a wet saw I would recommend a higher quality saw that will last.

Good Choice
5 Star Review   By oscarf on Home Depot - Mar 3, 2009

I needed an 18" diagonal cut. I tried a bridge saw first but was displeased with the quality of product. This one did not appear to be able to. The salesman showed me it could. The sliding platform does hang like other reviews state. The arm holding the saw does limit the overhang on the left edge. The guide is a weak spot in my opinion, but for straight cuts it is good. I use a carpenter speed square for 45 degree angles. The laser is easy to align. The blade cover is removable without tools. Most screws and adjustments are wing nuts and finger knobs. The sliding guide extends forward for handling larger tiles. So far, I am pleased. Overall - good design. I am pleased

Nice little saw.
5 Star Review   By MiddletownUSA on Home Depot - Feb 18, 2009

This saw is great for the home. Works well for those small projects that take awhile to complete. If you have to rent a saw, evaluate the cost to purchase. It may make more sense over the long run. I tackled a bathroom tile project using 6 x 6 tiles that were 5/8" thick and very hard. This saw cut slices as narrow as 1/2" wide without cracking the tile using the blade provided. Make sure to clean the water tub after each use. The cement residue left behind after cutting tiles for a while will harden up on dry surfaces binding up some of the moving components. The portable stand is also a great feature to have. Make sure you use this saw in an area that can get wet and dirty. Spray water is unavoidable and will get on the floor and walls. I would not recommend using this saw for 12 x 12 tiles.

can't beat it
5 Star Review   By CousinJoe on Home Depot - Feb 17, 2009

I read reviews prior to purchasing and I have found them not to be to accurate. I used the blade that came with the saw and found no problems, "I believe it's the user and not the blade causing chipping" I cut granite tile like it was butter I took my time and went slow with no wasted material. I will agree that if you don't use both hands on the sliding table it will bind otherwise even pressure with both hands and it glides fine. The stand is great, nicely built and very user friendly. With the mess of water well that to was nothing a large bucket couldn't take care of. I placed the bucket under the back of the stand and a plastic bag I used as a fence to catch the spray from the blade fixed any water issue. I actually used it in my family room in which I wasn't concerned because the carpet was being replaced but to my surprise no puddles just a light mist of water between the bucket and the wall with the plastic bag. The only down fall but this is with any power tool I find that it could be much quieter, a bit on the noisey side compared to the 7" Neiko tile saw I use to have. Otherwise buy it and enjoy it you'll end up tiling your whole house

Just What I Needed
5 Star Review   By GadgetMan on Home Depot - Jan 19, 2009

I perseverated over which tile saw to buy for about a week. I had trouble deciding whether to buy the smaller cheap one, or the more expensive sliding table model. Having never done tile before, and my first job requiring some diagonal cuts, and noticing that every table saw you can rent has a sliding table, I decided to buy this saw. I am pleased with my decision. Out of the box the saw required only minor tuning to assure the blade was truly vertical. The adjustment screws were a little cheezy, but thankfully should only need to be adjusted once. From the advice of previous reviewers, I did buy a new DeWalt tile blade to replace the blade that comes with the saw. This saw worked very well for me as a homeowner grade saw. I found the laser, which shoots a line all the way accross a 12 inch tile, to be very useful on long diagonal cuts. Every cut was perfect and straight. I did not find any tile chipping and the long cuts had no wobble. I do agree with the assesment that the table can bind when pushed one-handed from the right side. I found that if you used two hands on the table, there was no problem and the table moved smoothly. Perhaps this might be viewed as a safety feature. Overall, for my purpose as a homeowner, this saw gave me excellent results.

Almost The Perfect Tile Saw
4 Star Review   By DoItOnceandDoItRight on Home Depot - Dec 23, 2008

This Husky Tile saw is almost the perfect tle saw. The size is great (22" rips and 16" on diagonal). Easy set up. Allignment was dead on right out of the box although it can be adjusted. Water pump was good. Not too much splash over with the water skirt. Nice diagonal cuts. The laser is great, easy to align and says in allignment. easy to clean. Nice retractable, storable stand. The only drawback is the design of the table guide rail. It has a sleeve on the table that rides on the guide rod on left side and rollers on the right side instead of rollers on both sides like most saws with a movable table. The sleeve has some play on the rod and tends to bind up on the rod (even when it is perfectly clean and using the oil that comes with the saw). Even just the weight of the tile and no matter where you apply force to push it to make the cut causes this binding to the point where the table jerks or sometimes it won't move at all and you have to lift up slightly on the left side of the table to get it to move and cut smoothly. I tried to work with it and tried many things to get it to work right but finally returned it half way through the job out of frustration. A resign of the table with rollers on both sides and a better miter gauge set up would make it the perfect tile saw.

Great for weekend work
4 Star Review   By tooldiva on Home Depot - Dec 7, 2008

I've done 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and hall floor plus a granite tile counter in my kitchen using this saw. Overall I've been pretty happy with it's performance. After reading some reviews, I decided to replace the blade before using it. The one that comes with isn't that great. I was cutting very hard, fairly thick porcelain tile for the baths and the saw was a trooper. You just have to move slowly. Same with the granite. Sometimes when working with larger tiles you have to get creative to work around the arm that holds the motor. For me the fence was not very useful. When I needed a fence or if I was cutting 45's, I just used a speed square dropped into the channel at the fence. The tray needs to be drained and cleaned often or the tile dust and chips will create a sludge in the bottom that is difficult to remove. This saw certainly isn't robust enough for a contractor, but I'd recommend it to anyone with a few home projects to do.

Good saw
4 Star Review   By HotAttic on Home Depot - Nov 22, 2008

Overall, I like this saw. I like that the table is metal (not plastic). The saw does chip the tile on one side of the cut. I am not sure why this happens. A previous person suggests that a new blade will resolve this issue. The stand is very nice. The assembly instructions are very poor, but you can figure it out on your own. I had no problems with tiles going out of square.

Decent but could be improved upon
2 Star Review   By OldFourthBungalow on Home Depot - Aug 1, 2008

After cutting 2 rooms of tiles I returned this saw. The good: the size is great, very portable and easy to move. For smaller tiles it works well. The stand is decent quality. Definite changes: change the blade immediately. The blade in the box ate up travertine edges and wasted material. Why I returned it: the fence. This was a huge problem. It doesn't have a track so it simply screws onto the outer edge of the saw. It kept creeping off the mark. Plus, the feature of the fence being able to do 45 degree cuts is nice but it doesn't always hold larger tiles in place. The result: on large tiles the edges tended to veer off at a slight angle leaving me with tiles that were off 1/4" from one end to the other! I tried and tried to keep the fence clamped down but it did these off cuts too often. I couldn't make the saw give me consistent sizes (I was cutting 140 tiles in half and they needed to be perfect). I wasted too much material. Another annoyance was the sheer amount of water it sprayed off. I've used other tile saws that didn't spew so much all over the place. It sprays so much that I couldn't use it inside the house even when I set it on the floor with a large water heater overflow tray under the saw (also at HD). Too bad really, because the size is perfect for anyone and I really hoped it would be a keeper. If they redesigned the fence I'd reconsider it even with the excessive water spray, I liked the size that much.

The best I have used and will use
5 Star Review   By Tilelayer on Home Depot - Mar 11, 2008

This wet saw is a dream. It will cut up to a 18 inch tile and is easy setup out of the box. I bought one for a company I used to work for and I bought one for myself I liked it so much. The only draw back was the fence which I never used I just dropped a speed square in the slot an 45 and straight cut all day. I would recommend this to anyone this is the best.
