DeWalt DW364
3 Star Review  productwiki.com - Jul 20, 2011

The DeWalt DW364 is a 7-1/4” circular saw built with a heavy-gauge, high-strength aluminum alloy base that provides increased durability at any worksite. Weighing at 12.3 pounds, the relatively lightweight DeWalt DW364 features a powerful 15.0 amp, 2075 watts motor made for cutting through difficult applications. In addition, the DeWalt DW364 includes an electric brake that stops the blade after use. Plus, the DW364’s base pivots for depth of cut and bevels on a ball-joint mechanism that offer smoother & faster adjustments than a traditional simple-hinge arrangement. In fact, the DW364 offers a bevel capacity of 0 to 50 degrees, and – like the depth of a cut gauge – the bevel gauge can easily be recalibrated in case the saw suffers a ‘tumble on the job.’ The DeWalt DW364 retails for $159.99 and comes with a carbide tipped blade and a blade wrench. Lastly, the DeWalt DW364 features a 90-day ... PROS: (1) 9-foot cord is longer than many circular saws, improving cut range (2) Depth adjustment knob is easy to adjust and saves time having to measure blade against wood (3) Easy access to motor for cleaning and self-service (4) Electronic blad brake works very well to control speed when necessary (5) Great durability relative to many prosumer saws, resilient gear box and longer than average blade life ... CONS: (1) Saw housing extends further in front of blade than average circulars, cutting off view of the cut itself (2) Ergonomics are awkward and can be uncomfortable for certain types of cuts (3) Plastic blade guard arms prone to breaking over time

My first circular saw
5 Star Review   By Joey on Acme Tools - Oct 29, 2013

The wife had to have some home improvements, having very few power tools it was time to get some more. The Dewalt tools i have used before and currently own a few has been a great brand and decided to go with them again. I wanted something heavy duty in case I ever got into them situations where you really needed the power and the tool to hold up, having used cheap power tools before this is where they break or wear out quickly on me. Had to replace part of the hallway floor in my house (wood rot) and put this saw to use not long after i received it. This saw is a powerhouse, I have used it to cut through a few inches of wood with a few layers of flooring (linoleum and some others) with some nails and staples and this saw refuses to slow down. making long rip cuts on boards is a breeze, much better than other circular saws i have used. The depth adjustment really comes in handy when you need it. Just a few cons - Heavier than most circular saws. Does not come with the rip fence.

Good commercial saw
5 Star Review   By DABfire on Home Depot - Dec 27, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This saw is heavy duty and therefor it is heavy, not for everyone. It is lighter than the ones I bought in the 80's. I use it framing houses, plenty of power great saw. The only thing I might change is to make the front adjustment knob small.

Professional Level Saw
5 Star Review   By homeimprovementdude on Home Depot - Jul 28, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Anytime you buy a professional quality tool....you can feel it....and you can see it in the performance. I saw a comment about the weight, but really, it is not an issue for me. Keep in mind the baseplate is large and flat, and the quality is clearly built into it. More materials....heavier....simple. If you compare it to a SkilMag77 (my other saw).....at a hefty 14 lbs plus......the Dewalt feels light. Power and accuracy is extremely impressive. If feels VERY solid due to the baseplate.....and makes it easier to handle. Finally, anyone who has held a saw away from the power cord while waiting for the blade to stop....will LOVE the blade brake. Excellent saw.....worth the price and then some.

Professional Siding Contractor
5 Star Review   By Sider on Home Depot - Jan 29, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Had this saw working on my siding saw table for years. The wide base makes it ideal for a saw table. Also the design makes it stay down on the material you are cutting rather than other handle designs which are more to the rear of the saw, and jump off the cutting material. Had to replace the brushes a few times, but this saw cuts siding 6 days a week, hundreds of cuts a day, for 10yrs now. And we all know the abuse the helpers can put on a tool. When it finally goes I'll certainly buy another. Keep in mind this is not a saw for framing, too heavy. Great for my application

Returned it - too heavy
5 Star Review   By JAnthony21 on Home Depot - Jan 3, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I read watch a lot of reviews before buying and narrowed it down to the DW364 and the 368. I was able to actually hold the 368 at HD but the 364 is a "online only " saw so I couldn't determine which had the better feel. The 364 is about $50 more expensive and had several great reviews so I pulled the trigger and purchased it. The specs tell you that 364 is 3 pounds heavier than the 368 and you might think-3 pounds is nothing, I prefer something that is tough. 3 pounds in this case means that the 368 is 25% lighter and you can really tell the difference when you left the 368 and then the 364. It's a night and day difference and a good overall comparison of the two would be like comparing a 1 ton truck to a half ton pickup. A 1 ton truck is cool but unless your line of work dictate you need a one ton, you're better off with a half ton pickup. The 368 is perfect for the weekend warrior that doesn't need a saw meant for daily worksite abuse. I returned the 364 and purchase the 368. Zero problems with the 368.
