Great Sprayer
5 Star Review   By Lewis on Home Depot - Jun 2, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I got this sprayer to spray a fence and deck. I used it to spray 10 gallons of the restore solid deck stain at one time. It worked great with no problems. This unit saved me at least 2 days labor. Well worth the money.

SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!
5 Star Review   By matt71boss351 on Home Depot - May 20, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I love this thing!!! So I ususally spend 10 hours power washing my back yard decks and swing set each year and another 6-7 hours spraying on sealer with one of those garden pump sprayers, blah, blah. This year I could not get a spray from my garden pump just a stream. So I head out to buy a new one. As I am looking I see this airless sprayer so I say why not. I have to tell you, I used this thing one time yesterday and it already paid for itself in what I would charge myself in labor rate and material. My decks were done in 1 1/2 hours and I significantly reduced the material usage, cut the usage by 2/3's; ah yes, efficiency. I never write product reviews, heck I hardly even read them, but if you own a home and a you are a DIY'R you need this, you don't just want it.......You need it!! By the way, you can't have mine and no, you can't borrow it eithier.

Received sprayer in excellent condition via UPS ground to Hawaii in 10 days. Purchased additional hose parts
4 Star Review   By Alan on Home Depot - Jan 8, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

To make the sprayer really usable purchased 50' hose, 4' whip for added hose flexibility and swivel to avoid kinking the hose for additional $100. Missing one bolt on the fold-down handle, so called Customer Service and they will be sending to me. I appreciate that the sprayer was not excluded from shipment to Hawaii, like many other products on the Home Depot website.

Excellent time saving quality product
5 Star Review   By CSMZ714 on Home Depot - Oct 31, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

The Graco X7 sprayer is an excellent time saving product. After reading all the reviews, I was prepared for set up and clean up issues but had none. Followed the quick start and clean up card attached to the sprayer and both were a breeze. Since this was the first time using an air sprayer, I knew I had to start in an area of the fence that was hidden. It took me about 100 feet of my six foot privacy fence to get it right and use the correct application method. The remaining 460 feet was effortless. Covering an area of over 6000 square feet using Behr stain took only 11 hours which included set up and clean up. Looking forward to using this on other projects on my "honey do" list. Thanks Home Depot for a quality product at a great price (and saving me precious time).

Good tool for your needs
4 Star Review   By Steve on Home Depot - Sep 26, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I am a landlord with several rentals, which I consider myself as am "hands on" my properties. I easily justified the purchase of this sprayer in my first project instead of paying a pro. After I purchased the X7, I painted two exterior alluminum sided houses. As this is my first sprayer, I would suggest you practice on a surface before proceeding to your project. I find for me after you tape/prep and cut in your hand painting around corners/edges that spraying represents only 50% of your total time per project. The quality of your painting project by spraying is truly superior to brush or roller. For the X7, the only negative which may be true for any sprayer is, you can't allow your siphon tube leave your paint bucket as you roll your sprayer around to spray. Once I did this, the sprayer would not re-prime on it's own, and I was forced to stop and clean the filters and follow the priming process again before resuming my painting. Overall the X7, thus far, has been a good tool addition to my collection and would suggest this as a sprayer. Once you get the steps to follow and the feel of spraying, it's a great time saver and can make it look like your work was done by a pro.

Painting the exterior of our house has been made much easier and faster with this paint sprayer.
5 Star Review   By JPWilliams on Home Depot - Sep 12, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

The instructions are easy to follow and the sprayer itself is very easy to clean. The advise I read about getting the swivel connector, wip house and 8-10 inch spray tip were very helpful.

Exceeded Expectations
5 Star Review   By Techoverlord on Home Depot - Aug 30, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We watched the included video, followed the quick start guide, and started painting! No problems getting the pressure adjusted for even paint flow and encountered only an occasional clog that was easily cleared by reversing the tip. We did find that thoroughly cleaning the sprayer is a must after a day of use. Yes, cleanup is not fun but the result is near flawless operation the next time you use the sprayer.

Quality product for the price
4 Star Review   By ScottS on Home Depot - Aug 28, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I don't have a lot of experience with painting or airless machines. I have used an HVLP sprayer to paint a car and this works similar. The overall construction is pretty good, decent quality. The hose is only 25' and will work OK with a room up to 20x20. For siding or larger rooms I would suggest an additional 50' hose for a total of 75'. Also, the tip that is included is a middle-of-the-road general purpose tip. When I used it with Kilz primer, I would still get tails no matter how much pressure I increased. So you will want to get a bigger tip for primer.

Very nice product for homeowner use!
4 Star Review   By BillyD on Home Depot - Aug 15, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I recently purchased this sprayer and just completed my first job. I painted my siding and trim boards for a large shed before installation. The product worked very well. The operating manual is detailed and easy to follow. I did not view the supplied DVD, but did fine with the written instructions. I was painting within a half hour of opening the box. I believe having a metal gun, as this model provides is a big plus. There were a view clogs, but the automatic unclogging feature works very well. If you have never sprayed before you will figure it out in a short period of time. The clean-up and storage of the unit at the end of the job takes a little while but worth the effort. If the instructions are followed, you should have few problems.

Easy to use out of the box. Only complaint is it takes longer to clean up the equipment after the job is done. Which is not a problem with the equipment. You would have to clean up any spray unit after you are done. it was very easy to clean the inside of the sprayer just hook up the water hose and turn it on. it is the external cleaning i am talking about just have to find the right tool to clean it with.

Does the job, Better than expected.
5 Star Review   By paulyaya on Home Depot - Jul 31, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

The X7 did a great job. I did purchase a 50 ft hose as my room to paint is 80 ft long, I was able to paint the entire room and not move the sprayer, I painted 30 gallons is a day and a half and not to much pain.... rolling that would have killed me..Able to resolve all problems as they arose, if it starts to run on at high speed check the intake screen mine got plugged with scum (thick paint) cleaned and back to working great, clean up is easy, didn't expect it to clean its self. With the purchase of the 50ft hose I will now have 75ft when it's time to paint the house. Very happy with the purchase saved a ton of time and pain.

Excellent Value, Good Coverage, and Great Time Saver
5 Star Review   By SamtheMan on Home Depot - Jul 24, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I bought this sprayer, the 20" tip extension, and a couple different tips with it. I love it. I made this purchase to paint the interior of a 3,983 square foot house that has a large great room with 20 foot ceilings and about 25X30. In total we went through about 38 gallons of paint and 9 gallons of Primer. Not many sprayers will spray primer and this one does. I don't usually do reviews but felt compelled to support this product since its so rare these days to feel like you got your money's worth. Take your time cleaning it and it will pay off. I also never strained my paint but probably should have.

i have 20 years painting experience . i have used many different types of airless pumps . this is an excellent pump for the price . i was not sure if it would maintain consistent pressure . when i got into an open area . i opened up the gun to see what it could do . it maintained pressure consistently. you will have to add a spray whip and swivel to your hose at the gun to alleviate coiling . but that goes for any airless hose . excellent value for the price . pump , hose and gun . you will not find a better set up for the price . i highly recommend this product ...............

Great Airless Painter
5 Star Review   By OutbackJoe on Home Depot - Jul 10, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This is an easy to use airless unit that is suited to the DIY home owner or light commercial painter. In other words this is a high end unit for the home owner or lower end for a professional painter. This unit is easy to setup, use and clean. Having a reversible tip makes cleaning very easy. If you are looking for a painter that will do hundreds of gallons and paint do it day after day you will need something a little better. If you are looking for an airless that will give quality paint jobs for the home owner and will keep doing it for many years this is the one for you. It would be nice if the hose was 50' instead of the 25' that comes with this unit but that must be part of how they keep the price down. The 25' works okay for inside painting projects but 50' would be great for outside painting. Highly recommend for the high end DIYer.

Great Sprayer
5 Star Review   By Paintman01 on Home Depot - Jun 13, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This sprayer is everything I expected. Easy to setup and use. It does take some time to clean, but so do all these type sprayer. I would definitely recommend buying a Smaller (413) tip than the one that comes with the Unit. The smaller pattern is easier to control on the soffit, fascia and gutters. The X7 with wheels is worth the extra money over the X5. It allow you to move the paint and sprayer a the same time.

Used only once so far but worked great and met all my expectations! Sprayed approximately 1400 sqf (15 gal.) in just hours and never had a single issue. It unexpectedly came with a upgraded gun witch impressed me even more! I haven't had it long enough to comment on the durability but I would recommend it based on it's performance.

Good value line
5 Star Review   By ejk57 on Home Depot - Jun 5, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I bought this unit as I had a barn and house to paint but did not want the hassle of renting since the jobs were broken up over many days. The price point vs renting for this unit made it a break even at 6 days. I have run about 20 gallons of paint through the unit and it has performed very well. My only complaint is around the quality of the hose provided. It is too short and too rigid for my liking. A longer and more flexible hose would be good. The user instructions were easy to follow. The spray gun is well made and provides consistent coverage every time. Cleaning is pretty straight forward and the wheels make it easy to move around. Was a smart buy!

Great sprayer, easy to use.
5 Star Review   By Retired01 on Home Depot - Jun 4, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

The last time I painted my house with a brush and roller it took forever. I was able to spray approx. 400 linear feet of soffit, fascia, eves and gutters in less than 3 hours. It takes longer to clean and prep all of the areas, move the ladders and clean-up the sprayer than paint. You can literally paint as fast as you can move your ladder. The one thing I would definitely recommend is to Purchase a Smaller Size Tip ( both fan width and orifice) than the one provided with the gun. The smaller spray width and volume is just a lot easier to control in tight areas. Produces less overspay.

I really liked this paint gun. I primed a 3 bedroom home in about 3 hour and then another 3 hours painting walls and ceilings. Was easy to use and cleaned up very easy. Will paint an exterior this month. Price I paid for this gun was saved in labor cost the first time I used it.

Great Accessories
5 Star Review   By Linda on Home Depot - May 29, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We needed this paint sprayer because the exterior facia of our house is heavy, heavy texture. Therefore, our previous sprayer could not spray the paint into the wave crevices; therefore, we really needed the roller attachment, with a heavy nap. The house is 1 1/2 stories on upside incline, and garage and basement in front of house make it equivelant to a 3 story. Since we are DIYers, we needed something to facilitate the task, and the Magnum X7 with roller accessories was our answer.

Easy to set up. Easy to use.
5 Star Review   By Mike on Home Depot - May 29, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Easy to set up. Easy to use. My first project was painting a new 3 car garage. This was my first use of a gun designed for latex paint so I taped everything. Once the taping was done I unpacked my new spray gun. I didn't pay attention to how long the first coat took but it went fast. I decided to put a second coat on even though it didn't look like it needed it. The second coat took 30 minutes. Having just got the unit I don't have any idea how long it will hold but I sure was happy with how it worked out of the box.

Graco X7 Sprayer - Excellent
5 Star Review   By MRPepper on Home Depot - May 22, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I could not be happier with the Graco X7...painted a 1400 sq ft home in half a day! - It was easy to set up, prime and adjust for painting. I never used one before and my helper thought I was a pro...no drips/runs..good coverage. The nozzle tip that came with gun worked well with outdoor latex paint...no modifications...I did reverse nozzle tip several times to clear it if it became clogged (result of painting in 105 degree Arizona heat!)

This sprayer worked perfectly for our fence painting project.
5 Star Review   By TAE08 on Home Depot - Apr 11, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

After careful review of features, etc on various sprayers I chose to order this model partially based on customer reviews, as I've never used a paint sprayer before. It took about an hour to unpack, watch the DVD and set it up. I am a 43 yr female with no sprayer experience. After few minutes adjusting pressure I was well into my project with no problems. What had took literally weeks to paint by hand before, I had finished in less than 2 hours. Definitely worth the money! It's one of those things you never knew you needed. Kind of like buying and using a pressure washer for the first time. The clean up wasn't as clean and simple as shown on the DVD but wasn't to bad. I also liked that it was easy to manage even with a 5 gal bucket of paint hanging from it. Easy to store due to overall size too.

Fantastic investment for basement with textured ceiling
5 Star Review   By Sandra on Home Depot - Apr 8, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We had to paint our basement quickly and were worried how to get it done with a VERY textured ceiling. I tried rolling a small area and it took forever and still had missing spots. We bought this sprayer hoping it would make things easier. It does take a lot of time to prep the area since you have to be prepared to get paint everywhere that is not covered. We did not cover the floor since it was down to the concrete base, waiting for a new floor to be installed the next week. We bought head to toe painting overalls, gloves, shoe covers and masks. We were expecting to come out of the process covered in paint. We were shocked to find very little paint on our coveralls once the job was complete and no spots on the floor. You absolutely need to be protected in case something does goes wrong, but the sprayer is very easy to control and to be honest I found it a neater process than using a hand roller, especially for ceiling work. You do need to cover areas that you don't want painted because there is over-spray, but it's not nearly as bad as what we expected. It took less than 2 hours to do a 2000 square foot area, including the ceiling. You are working at pretty much the speed that you can walk. The time we saved on this single room was worth the investment, but we are looking forward to using it to do our garage areas as well. I'm not sure if it was the sprayer or the paint, but this is also the first time I have ever been able to get away with a single coat of paint. We did have to touch up a few areas where we went too quick, you know this because it will show as stripes. We re-sprayed those areas in less than 10 mins and it dried to a perfect match with rest of the wall. The instructional dvd is excellent and recommended that you check your specific paint can for the proper nozzle. The sprayer comes with a 515 nozzle, but our Sherwin Williams HGTV paint suggested a size of .017-.021. We got a 619 and that worked well. I would definitely recommend using one of the respirator style masks with the cartridges versus the simple paper looking masks, especially when painting an interior area. I liked that this model made it easy to move a 5 gal bucket of paint as you rolled the sprayer to a new position. The lower end models don't have this design. This model has a 50 foot hose which worked pretty well. A 75 or 100 foot would have saved us some moving around, but overall it wasn't too bad. Finally, it really wasn't that hard to get the hang of the process. We had a few drips early on, so we kept a hand roller handy to smooth those out, but I think we only needed to roll out 5 drips over then entire room. If you have a large area to paint and you want to get the painting process over with quickly and end with a very smooth finish, this sprayer is a terrific tool.

FAST!
5 Star Review   By Fred on Home Depot - Mar 6, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I purchased this sprayer to paint my basement-rafters, walls, ductwork, pipes, everything. I had the whole basement finished, including the wooden stairway, in a little more than a half hour. My basment is 25" by 40" feet. The only thing that slowed me down was having to go get another five gallons of paint. Cleanup, on the other hand, was time consuming, since the paint got all over both the sprayer and the hose. The total project was still less than four hours, and it wasn't a project you'd want to take on with a roller and a brush. I will be buying a roller attachment for the machine so I can do the upstairs without the fallout.

Great Sprayer
5 Star Review   By dave on Home Depot - Feb 28, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I bought my sprayer about 6 years ago. I have painted at least 4 houses inside and outside. It paid for itself on my first house. It took me 8 hours to paint the outside of a 3 br house, all wood, the first time I used it. I did not have any experience spraying and it came out beautiful. And still looks good. The speed is amazing. It takes longer to prep the house and move the ladder than actual painting.

Just got this sprayer a couple of weeks ago, I've painted a couple of rooms in a rental house I own. Very easy to use, almost zero learning curve. I also sprayed some Gilsonite (very viscous oil) on my driveway, also went very well. Great coverage! Easy clean up.

Have used on two major projects so far and everything worked exactly as stated. Takes a little time to set up but is well worth it in time saved and quality of finish. Clean-up is so easy.I DO highly recomend starting with a test project before starting on main job because it will take a few minutes to adjust pressure so that proper coverage is sprayed but well worth the time.

Great Sprayer
5 Star Review   By BGD2011 on Home Depot - Nov 20, 2011    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Unit shipped as stated. The box seamed a little flimsy though since it came from HD warehouse back East to my location in Washington state. All items were there, and the unit worked without incident. Accessories like the extension wand are a must. I purchased the wand at the HD store here. Painted 1200sq. foot living room in about 3 hours. Greco makes great sprayers and HD had the best price.

works great
5 Star Review   By Bennie on Home Depot - Nov 13, 2011    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

PROS: * Very good instructions on DVD * easier and faster to clean that I expected (comparable time to clean brushes/pans/rollers) * Not heavy, easy to move around * nice and fast CONS: (most issues came because this is my first sprayer) * the spray tip was 'lost at the bottom of the shipping box', and took a long time to figure out and find it... New owners, make sure to find the tip which looks like a "T" made of a black plastic top and stainless steel cylindrical leg. * You still need to roll,. "backroll" your waslls... it's fast, important and worth the time. * Tape carefully. When taping, you need to make sure the tape is attached to clean surfaces. Especially true with baseboards which collect settled grime/dust. You should windex/wipe baseboards before taping or the sprayer can easily 'blow' off portions of the taping job and you will have a big clean up job on your hands. I never had to prewash baseboards when rolling/brushing but it's a must-do when spraying * hose is a pain because it's stiff and tends to coil and get caught on stuff; and pull tarps off furniture, etc. Watch your tarps. * respirator and safety glasses are must-haves, unlike when brushing/rolling Summary: It's faster and easier than rolling/brushing (even with all troubles mentioned above). My 2nd spray project will be even faster since I won't repeat lots of these rookie mistakes.

5 Star Review   By Sandy on Home Depot - Oct 29, 2011    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Had to prime and paint a 250 ft stockade fence (both sides). I bought this because of the great reviews. My husband did all the painting and priming, he loved it!!! He was able to complete the fence in record time. He said it worked flawlessly. He did say there was a bit of a learning curve in regards to actual paint application. He (and I) would highly recommend this product. Oh yeah, make sure you read all the instructions.

So far I have put about six gallons of paint through this sprayer. It is an excellent sprayer. My first time using one and did very well. The only tip I have is to be sure and clean the tip seats very well. Be sure and remove and clean between gasket and tip seat. Works well and clean up is typical for this type equipment. Well pleased so far. Four rooms to go..

What a time saver
5 Star Review   By Indypainter on Home Depot - Sep 28, 2011    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Used my new X7 to spray Behr Premium semi-transparent stain on my large deck. Covered up the plants and house with Painters plastic and a meticulous taping job. Followed the instructions on the stain and used the 515 spray tip and had my wife back roll with a 5/16" microfiber roller. We knocked this out in no time. Hand brushing all that lattice would have been a chore. The sprayer performed flawlessly. I bought the swivel and the spray hose whip as people suggested. Also, as people have mentioned, the DVD instructions are awesome. This was a water based stain so cleanup was a breeze using the garden hose flush. Lastly, grab yourself a spray shield- 36" x 9" with handle. A great tool to keep from spraying unwanted areas. Go to YouTube and watch videos of people using an airless sprayer. Next up will be spraying my new T1-11 sided shed.

Got through priming, flushed and went to lunch and came back to finish the paint side the motor would not start, i'm a mcguiver kind of guy and tryed everything to get it running and no go. The only good thing was home depot took it right back and ordered me another one. Hope this one works longer than 2 hours.. Tired in Seattle

great paint sprayer
5 Star Review   By Drew on Home Depot - Sep 7, 2011    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

i have not used many other paint sprayers, but i did quite a bit or research on many types before purchasing this one. especially for the price, it is a great paint sprayer. it has a good coverage area, the line stays clean so i get a continuous, clean spray on the wall, it is light, and it is easy to operate. obviously, for maximum benefit and usage of this paint sprayer's potential, you want to cover all "unpaintable" areas well. the speed with which you will paint through your project will more than make up for the prep time you put into the job.

Perfect for a dedicated DIYer
5 Star Review   By DIYgeorgia on Home Depot - Jun 22, 2011    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

If you tackle multiple home projects each year, this paint sprayer is worth the investment. I always felt painting was boring and tedious, but with a sprayer, its so fast and easy that I now look forward to it. I can finally get that smooth, glossy feel on wood furniture that I could never get with a brush. I had very little trouble with undiluted latex paint. Lower quality paint clogged every once in a while, but you can rotate the nozzle and flush it in two seconds. The high quality paint has yet to clog. If you've never used a paint sprayer, be prepared for some differences. I coated a large walk-in closet in 20 minutes, but it takes 3-4 coats (for me), whereas a roller usually takes 2-3 coats at an hour each. You also have to clean out the sprayer if you leave it for more than a few hours (but you can leave it setup between coats on the same day). Still, what you lose in setup and cleanup, you more than make up in overall speed and finished quality. The key to the sprayer is a lot of light coats. If you go to heavy, the paint runs (wipe it immediately if you see this happen, or you'll spend some time sanding). The instructions make it sound overly complicated, but once you've tried it a couple of times, you'll be setting up and cleaning up in five minutes.

Outstand sprayer BUT ...
4 Star Review   By JAG64 on Home Depot - May 18, 2011    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

The X7 does an outstanding job spraying paint. Pro: 1. Easy to use - all details covered in DVD video. 2. High quality equipment. Con: 1. There is lots of overspray; need to mask off ALL non paint surfaces including yourself. Great tool to apply primer paint when painting both walls and ceiling, 2. Clean up is easy BUT is time consuming. (Spent more time cleaning than actually painting)

5 Star Review   By Painter1221 on Home Depot - May 9, 2011    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I purchased this sprayer in 2006 with a friend of mine after starting a handyman business and we put it right to work. It is shockingly easy to use. This sprayer allows you to spend the needed time to prep certain places for painting. For example, I painted my parents house recently, something I had been doing about every two years, and it was always rolled and brushed. After I purchased this sprayer, I was able to take the time to properly sand the house and do little surface repairs and because of the efficiency and effectiveness of this unit, it has been 4 years since last paint and no need to do again anytime soon. After it was finished, multiple neighbors offered me painting work. It does that good of a job! I was able to paint around 10 or so houses completely with this and then, made the mistake of lending it out to friends and family and they managed to break it. I am however going to purchase another as the price is more than worth the time it saves you on the first job alone. Aside from being much easier to use, it makes the job look fantastic! There's no discerning look between brushed trim and rolled walls, as this is usually an issue. It lays a nice even coat and trim work is completely removed from the job. Well worth it all the way.

major time saving tool
4 Star Review   By map2 on Home Depot - May 7, 2011    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Of course, we all know that prep is an important part of any paint job, and a sprayer can't help here. But when it comes to laying on the paint, this model does a good job. Almost makes painting fun. I can only give it a GOOD rating as I've only had it for 3 weeks and have painted a 24'X24' garage, a 12'X12' shed and a 1400 sq ft house using a premium latex paint. If it is working this good 5 years from now, than it is excellent. As a side note, I received an SP2 gun with my unit, as opposed to the SP10 that the instructions listed. The Graco techline rep told me the SP2 is a step up from the SP10, so lucky me. My guess is the SP10 is being discontinued.

Excellent Could be happier
5 Star Review   By Homowner on Home Depot - Dec 22, 2010    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This is the first product I've ever reviewed. I was skeptical about buying an inexpensive airless sprayer. We just has our 1,500 sqft basement drywalled. Obviously rolling would have taken forever. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews on airless sprayers. This model received very good reviews. I bought it on sale for $359. I read the instructions and watched the DVD. I used Behr Premium Plus Ultra paint on the fresh drywall. The paint is super thick and required max pressure setting on the sprayer (I did NOT thin the paint). It was so easy to use. I was a pro in matter of minutes. I highly recommend this everyone. Tips for the first timer. Don't let the paint get too low in the bucket. Also, stir the paint every now and then so it stays nice and mixed. Lastly, I didn't know whether I needed to back-roll or not. So, after reading a few forums, I saw it wasn't necessary. Well, I should have because there are spot where the paint didn't soak into the paper on the drywall and left a sandpapery like finish. The plus side is that the paint went on so thick, I sanded those spots down with a fine-grit sandpaper and it looks great.

Very Loud, not good for use w/ Power Paint Roller
2 Star Review   By GlennfromOrlando on Home Depot - Nov 22, 2010    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I used this with a power paint roller, and even in low pressure when you hit the trigger you get high pressure surge and it over loads the roller and it will often drip paint. Very frustrating. Much like a water hose on very low pressure. Even with your thumb over the front of the hose when you release you get a big squirt of water and then it slows down. The unit is very loud when it turns on. Kind of drives you crazy with the noise every time it kicks on. The motor seems to be small and runs really fast to get the power.

5 Star Review   By windsr on Home Depot - Jul 5, 2010    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Bought this sprayer over a year ago after trying to paint the ceiling in my house. Tried a couple of other brands that ended up going right back to the store and by hand it took over two hours to do a single room. After trying a couple of test/practice shots in the garage I was ready to go. Re-finished the room I tried by hand in just about 30 mins. Actually did 3 bedrooms, living and dining room and a hallway in just a couple of hours and that included the walls!. Took longer to get prepped than to get the work done and the cleanup between paints and storage was painless. Really a great investment.

Graco X7
5 Star Review   By 7ZGC on Home Depot - Mar 6, 2010    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I purchased this sprayer last summe to repaint my house. i looked at all of the other brands online was very hesitant to purchase this more ex[ensive version because it seems that no matter which sprayer you look at, they all have very mixed reviews. I took a chance on this one as I found little complaints. I must admit, I was very pleased. The most difficult part of the job was taping off all of the windows and trim. This sprayer is honestly the best tool that i have ever purchased. I literally had my house painted twice, in about 2.5 hours. I started on the back side which has the morning sun. By the time I got back around the paint was dry and I went for round two. The next day, I painted the soffet and facia in about an hour. I admit, I don't have a huge house, but this job would have taken me a week to complete as I did it all on my own. There is a learning curve so you dont have too much overspray, but cleanup is easy. I would recommend this product to anyone.

X7 Paint Sprayer
5 Star Review   Home Depot    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

They could use a re-write on the instructions, but if you read behind the lines and let common sense prevail, you will have yourself an excellent medium duty paint sprayer. Very satisified with it's operation and so simple to clean. I use it for painting remote telecom sites. I am very demanding when it comes to equipment working at remote locations (nothing worse than a 25 mile drive to town for parts). I have to give this one a 5 star. Great product!

OMG! The other reviews were right on about it, after researching and looking we decided to buy this one since we knew we were going to possibly be moving. We painted the entire house outside and inside using this it saved us so much time. Our house had not been painted since we bought it 11 years ago and this paint sprayer did an excellent job we did the outside and inside walls and celing. The only type of paint we have found it not to do is the really thick basement paint any other paints it will do with no problem.

Sprayer novice - fantastic result.
5 Star Review   By NewGracoX7Fan on Home Depot - Sep 22, 2008    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Our project is 600 linear feet of 6' high red cedar tongue-in- groove privacy fence, and we'd been attempting to stain it via brush and roller for the better part of the summer (a few 8' sections at a time). While the roller worked ok on the flat exterior of the fence, the more porous, rough-cut interior didn't allow for the same success, and needed a brush to jam into all the pocks and crevasses. Either way, by last weekend, we were about 40 percent of the way through it, with each 8' section taking approximately 30-45 minutes, just on the flat exterior alone. So with summer ending, I figured the only way to get done before the temps dropped too low was the get a sprayer. Picked up the X7 since the .017 flow capability would allow for latex spraying, figuring that as we're average homeowners, stain and latex paint would be the probable extent of use. (Also heard/read too many negative things about Wagner.) Watched the DVD one night, and then over about 4 hours yesterday (and right out of the box, using the supplied .015 tip), I covered as much fence as all those hours with the brush and roller had taken ... I estimate about half the total fence, about 1700 sq. feet, spraying an Olympic Maximum semi-transparent redwood stain. And frankly, I could've covered a lot more if I hadn't been moving so slowly due to newbie caution, a lack of sleep, and running out of stain. The hardest part was keeping up with the sprayer - I was moving so fast, it wore me out, honestly. Instructions were easy to follow, and didn't take long to dial in the right spray pressure, which was the most "initmidating" thought about a sprayer. The result looks great - when I stare at the completed portions of the fence, I can see where I might want to hit parts of it again, and where some of the overlap marks are, but it's so minor it's not a concern. Cleanup was easy, if messy, but I expected that, and it takes some time, as you'd expect. Downsides: Guess I haven't found one yet, but I did spend the money on a swivel connector for the gun/hose connection. As others have said, that accessory is worth it. Also bought an extra 50' of hose - came in handy, as I was moving so fast down the fenceline that I would've been constantly repositioning the sprayer if I had only been using the standard 25' line. Oh ... almost forgot ... we had tried a good quality deck-type sprayer before (the hand pump variety), but with the thicker stain, it worked for maybe a second before the tip plugged up, even when using the largest tip available. Not worth the effort. The biggest drawback was the price, which was the reason I didn't buy one up front, but if I had really known the difference in time it would've saved, I wouldn't have hesitated. Hindsight is perfect.

This sprayer is excellent!!! I have painted the exterior of my house in a fraction of the time it would have taken using a roller. The machine works great, the instructions are very clear, the clean-up process really isn't that big of a deal as previously mentioned in other reviews. I definitely recommend this sprayer to everyone.

One of my favorite tools...
4 Star Review   By PWDiamond on Home Depot - Jul 30, 2008    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This sprayer has done very well in knocking out quick paint jobs, fence staining--even mold remediation--in my 22 unit property. It's definitely an effective and efficient way to not only get the job done but to get it done RIGHT. My advice--to anyone looking at an airless sprayer-- is to really take the time to sit down and learn about the methodology and technique, then practice somewhere unimportant. I made a heck of a mess my first day :) The reverse-tip is great, and I like most everything about it other than it lacks a bucket tray and flushing & clean-up can be a mess. Good tool for the DIY'er (or handyman, etc.) looking to have something middle of the road to progress with without fear of outgrowing it or its capabilities in the near future.

5 Star Review   Home Depot    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This tool is one of the best investments one can make. While doing a remodeling project we purchased this tool I cut the priming and paintimg down to hours, not days. I covered over 1800 square feet in less 4 hours. Keep in mind this is my first time using such a tool. This is NOT like a Wagner, this is far suppier too it. Just takes a little time to clean when doing multiple colors, but still off sets the tradtional method. I will be spraiying from now on or at least using the power roller attachment.
