Great product! Surprisingly effective!
4 Star Review   By wayneski on Home Depot - Mar 5, 2013

This snowthrower is easy to start (first or second pull), easy to handle and can move a lot more snow than I expected. I had a pile of snow built up to over 3 ft. and was able to clear it all away by repeatedly shoving the PowerClear into the pile. It will not, however, handle snow that's been compacted by plowing. I think this will be great if I can get at the snow soon after it's fallen.

This Toro is easy to use and clears very well. It was not inexpensive.

Perfect for a Chicago winter
5 Star Review   By Cory on Home Depot - Feb 26, 2013

Exactly what I wanted - powerful, self-powered, and fast. After much research, I continue to be pleased. You don't need a 2 stage snowblower to get the job done!

This sf propelled snow blower has power, is easy to operate, and does the job far faster then prior blowers.

I have found this blower to be a fantastic investment. It does my corner lot in half the time It is powerful yet easy to use because it is slf propelled. It is easy to start, wide cleaning surface, easily pushed, and reasonably priced for the job that it does.Home DePot was very good about delivery and service. Rosale V

Happy with the product
4 Star Review   By aj2010 on Home Depot - Jan 30, 2013

Most of the reviewers have accurately captured the functionality of this snow-blower. I agree with them. Pros:: 1) It is very easy to maneuver the snow-blower; I would not categorize the product as light-weight but definitely not a big rock either. The build is sturdy enough to go through slush/ice. 2) The manual controls to change the position of the chute is very convenient and easy. 3) The motor is powerful and you will be pleasantly surprised as to how easy it is to run through the snow. The blower is self-propelled - so all you got to do is hold the direction. 4) I ordered it online and the product was delivered promptly within a week(ground shipping). Cons 1) The packing missed a gas cap. I went to Home Depot and an associate gave me one from a similar model. 2) I hesitate to use it under windy conditions. Unlike a shovel, the snow blows all over the place and it is normally a mess. 3) I did not get the electronic starter. The manual starter(pull cable) is a bit hard. But that might become easier with use. I have used the blower twice now and have been happy with the overall performance of the product. I think this better last me a while because it was not cheap.

Excellent product!
5 Star Review   By SewerRat on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2013

We do commercial snow removal with a lot of sidewalks. We use two-stage blowers for heavier snows but this year we added one Toro 621 to the mix for lighter accumulations. Will be ordering more in the future. Very light, quick, and maneuverable.

Fast, easy to use, quick chute adjust is great, poor oil fill design
5 Star Review   By simeonsays on Home Depot - Jan 5, 2013

Everything is great about this unit except for one item. The oil check and fill cap and spout is pourly located. Had to fabricate a funnel with hose to access. The uinit is larger and heavier than the 2-cyle unit I owned for 25 years prior. Starts reliably with one pull. My wife also clears our driveaway with it and thinks it great. Overall, I highly recommend this unit in the single stage snow thrower catagory.

easy to start even without electric
4 Star Review   By dmzempr on Home Depot - Dec 28, 2012

Bought this unit last year but didn't get to use it. The specs on the box and marketing material are pretty spot on. Anything less than 10 inches and this machine can handle it. Love the way you can change direction of the snow without bending down to do it every time you move. If there could be two things I would change or add to this unit is the angle of the chute and engine power. It would be really nice to be able to do it while in action just like you can with the direction. When the chute is angled down, it tends to not get thrown as far compare to when it is angled higher. But I guess you could kinda of do the same thing by moving the direction of the chute either further to the left or right. Just trying to keep the snow from blowing back into you when there is a headwind. The other suggestion is for this size of blower, I think the engine could be a little bit stronger to throw the snow farther than what it does. Not sure that I am going to see the 35 ft spec the box says. As for storing it when not in use, I just fold the handle down. It would be nice to leave it extended all the time but space is tight. It takes about an extra 4 minutes to set up each time. MAKE sure you tighten the handle nuts. They will work their way lose the longer you have the blower on.

Great single stage snow blower!
4 Star Review   By Yurtman on Home Depot - Dec 26, 2012

Starts easy. The chute control is key for ease of use... adjustable on the go. The only fall back is that it has trouble blowing the thick, dense snow left by the snow plow. If this is a concern for you then you should consider a dual stage. That being said, I would buy this machine again if I had to.

This snow blower is all you need for SE Michigan!
5 Star Review   By Topflite on Home Depot - Dec 11, 2012

This unit has the power to clear the standard 10" snowfalls of SE Michigan. The slide adjustable chute is great for quick turnaround clearing passes on my sidewalks, driveway and street enterance.

Great Machine and easy to use!!
5 Star Review   By GreenBayPackerFan12 on Home Depot - Dec 11, 2012

Just got done cleaning up rental property sidewalks with 4" of wet snow. FAST!! I walked quickly behind the machine as it threw the snow like a hot knife through butter. The 4 cycle motor eliminates the smell and smoke of the older 2 cycle models. I strongly recommend this model for light to moderate snowfalls.

Filling oil
5 Star Review   By JimR on Home Depot - Oct 23, 2012

The owner's manual recommends filling the oil in the operating position. However, without a transmission funnel the job is difficult because the fill port is located low and almost horizontal. I tipped the blower forward until it rested on the snow intake, and filled it easily. The manual states the engine will take almost the full bottle of supplied oil, so I stopped a few ounces short of empty. I returned the blower to operating position, and the oil level was perfect. No surprise leaks from filling in this manner. In the garage everything appears perfect. Time and freezing temperatures in actual operation will be the real test. So far, so good.

A great snow thrower for its class
5 Star Review   By Naptown on Home Depot - Mar 26, 2012

I researched this for a long time. I was tempted to go with a bigger machine. For huge snows, I'll still pay to get plowed out. However, aside from horrible blizzards with super deep snow, this machine can do a great job. Delivery from HD was ridiculously quick, assembly took 5 minutes, it starts easily, and does a very good job. It clears all the way down to the pavement, throws farther than I had expected, and is small & convenient to store. The EZ chute control is a must-have. Glad I opted for a model with that feature. It makes directing the snow very easy.

Good Purchase
5 Star Review   By Paul on Home Depot - Feb 17, 2012

Had a two stage thrower and sold it to purchase a smaller and more maneuverable single stage and happy I did so. We avg 30 in of snow a year and that comes in 3-8 in increments. The last storm we had was a very wet and heavy snow. It dumped just under a foot on my house and the my shiny red purchase handled it beautifully. I like the fact that is has a few more cc's to the engine than some of the entry models and that the engines are 4 cycle. No more mixing of oil although the manufacturer recommends fuel stabilizer. The extra money to step up to the 621 QZR series is worth it because the quick shoot is my favorite feature as there is no more bending over to adjust where you throw the snow. I have used it for two snows thus far and I am very happy with the purchase.

Product worth every penny!
5 Star Review   By Alainakat99 on Home Depot - Dec 27, 2011

Despite a small amount of difficulty putting in the oil, (woman customer), the machine worked wonderfully. Had it operational before a 2 day 13" snow storm in Denver. Living on a large corner lot, the sidewalk, driveway, and path to the front door were cleared in under an hour! It was a lifesaver!
