works great.
5 Star Review   By alangski on Home Depot - Jun 16, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

After years of shoveling I broke down and bought a snow blower, after reading hundreds of reviews on different makes and models the sno tek seemed to be the best bet. I had to spend about ten mins getting used to fiddling with speeds and angles having never used a snow blower before. This thing starts crazy easy, I have only used the pull start haven't tried the electric start, but starts first pull, runs great, doesn't bog down getting into the deep wet snow, and has never clogged on me, my neighbor normally has to clear out his craftsman three or four times and has a smaller driveway. Great buy.

From the time this snow blower was ordered to the time it was delivered, the service was outstanding. It was all assembled and ready for use when Gary delivered it to my home. He did an outstanding job of putting it in the back yard for me and also explaining its full use. He also offered to come back to show us how it works when it is time to use it. You can't beat that for service. Thank you for that!

unable to see how snowblower works removing snow since we have not had snow since receiving machine and unable to fully use. I was very impressed with the dealer that delivered snowblower; he was very good in explaining its operation. I do not foresee any problems based on the information I gathered prior to ordering.

5 Star Review   By Rafael on Home Depot - Apr 2, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

After 5 min putting it together, added the Gas and was ready to rock! Started on my second pull (I forgot to press the choke on my first pull). Unfortunate, there wasn't much snow after the storm so I only used once. I was able to cut through 11" just like butter. A must have!

Love this Snowblower! A great value!
5 Star Review   By Mary on Home Depot - Apr 1, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Purchased this at the end of the season and we had some wet heavy snow here in Colorado this March. The snow blower had no problem cutting through the snow while my neighbors with comparable models were stalling out! Could not be happier with my purchase. Gave it four stars for features because it does not have a light for night plowing, which is fine with me.

The perfect snowblower for me
5 Star Review   By Queensgirl57 on Home Depot - Mar 30, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I finally upgraded my stage one snowblower, when this years Nor'easter dumped more than 2' of snow here in NH. I was very nervous about having to handle one of the "big boys", being that I have never had a Dual Stage snowblower before. This snowblower is the perfect fit for me,a middle aged 5'4" woman. It's powerful enough to do the job, including the heavy wet stuff, but not so much that it over powers me . Once I got the co-ordination part down, I felt like I've been using a snowblower for years. I highly recommend this snowblower to anyone who doesn't need the biggest snow blower available, this is the one to get. The price is very reasonable in comparison to other snowblowers, is easy to use and gets the job done! The White Glove service was fantastic. I was shown how to operate the machine, all the features AND it was filled with gas and oil, so I was ready to use it. the day it was delivered.

My only complaint is difficulty in knowing how much gas is in the tank. A meter or vinyl see through tank would be very helpful. Ran out of gas at the bottom of the driveway and had to drag back to the top. Ordering by internet was convenient and shipment was timely and good.

Fabulous Snowblower
5 Star Review   By Dino on Home Depot - Mar 25, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We bought the Sno-Tek 24" two-stage blower to replace a 1980s snowblower which was handed down to us and could no longer handle anything but powder type snow. This machine was delivered the day of a 6" snowfall - the heavy wet stuff - and it handled everything like a knife through butter. Our old machine would bog down in deeper areas, especially where the city plow leaves the pile at the end of the driveway. The Sno-Tek just got more powerful as it worked with deeper snow. There are just enough forward and reverse speeds to be useful for any snow depth, and the remote chute control was a huge improvement over the old machine where we had to reach over the engine to position the chute. This was definitely the best value for our money when you take features and performance into account. Home Depot had the blower delivered to us by a local dealer in less than a week, and it was gassed up and demonstrated for us. If you live in a harsh winter area like Wisconsin, this is a perfect machine for most homes.

Good Machine for the cost
4 Star Review   By Mike1963 on Home Depot - Mar 21, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We have used this Snow Blower 5 times this winter. It did the job each time. Good machine, It moved wet heavy snow with ease. The only issue really seemed to be the traction. I had both wheels in self propel mode but at times when it had to go up hill the wheels would spin and it needed that extra push to get it up hill. Other than that you will be satisfied and surprised by how well this machine works. Its relatively simple to use and start.

3 Star Review   By SnoThrowin on Home Depot - Mar 20, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Competitive list of features. Worked first time upon delivery however the engine runs best only when set on partial choke (speed "hunts" badly when in "run"). Additionally, primary auger makes excessive noise as if the drive belt needs adjustment (will have to wait for warmer weather to trouble shoot) which is disappointing on a new product.

Handles fluffy snow, regular snow and wet snow with ease.
5 Star Review   By Luana on Home Depot - Mar 19, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I live in MA and bought this blower late 2011. Alas, after a terrible 2010-2011 winter, we had hardly any snow in 2011-2012. These past two months (Feb-Mar 2013) have given me and the blower a workout. Now that I have mastered how to use it, I find clearing snow a breeze. My driveway can accommodate eight cars. I can easily clear the driveway in about 1/2 hour. Today we had about 6 inches of heavy, wet snow. I cleared my driveway and two of my neighbors' driveways and sidewalks in about 1.25 hours...easy! I have only positive things to say about this machine. The negatives I had were due to user error and simply learning how to use a snow blower. The machine has a bit of weight to it, so slopes are a challenge. Once I learned how to properly use reverse and adjusted the pin on the wheel, navigating was much easier.

Picked this up between two big midwestern snows in February; the final of which was forecast to be heavy, wet, heart attack snow. Chewed through it like it was nothing. And snow plow piles were no match for it. Highly recommend.

It SEEMS to be very good
5 Star Review   By Paul1925 on Home Depot - Mar 8, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We bought this in November of 2012. It does seem to be a very good product. We've set it up and ran it but WE CANNOT test it. Why? Here in Southern Maryland we've not had any snow yet this year. It's mid-March of 2013 and so far nothing but a dusting or 2. This weeks storm fizzled out so we just had 3 to 7 inches of partly cloudy. This appears to be a great item...just can't test it.

5 Star Review   By WestPA on Home Depot - Mar 6, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We just had about 5 inches of wet heavy snow and the SnoTek handled it with ease. The machine started right away after sitting for several weeks, and was easy to control in wet/heavy snow. If you are on the fence about buying this machine just do it, you will thank youself later.

Great Value vs Cost Ratio
5 Star Review   By bt883 on Home Depot - Mar 5, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We don't get constant snow during our season but when it comes it can dump a bunch. I purchased this it seems just in time before our second big snow of the season. We got appx 2 feet and add the howling winds we get on our mountain top there were some deep drifts as well. My new Ariens Sno-Tek never missed a beat. The ability to direct the discharge of the snow on the fly was an added bonus-- it allowed me to put the snow right where I wanted it. With its self propel feature it "plowed" right through everything I asked of it. The electric start is a great feature but not really needed if you follow the recommended starting procedures she'll fire right up. Quick delivery and easy assembly.

Great performance at a low price
5 Star Review   By Jeff on Home Depot - Mar 2, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I have used Ariens Snowblowers since 1968. I needed a new one and I was drawn to this Ariens Sno-Tek 2 stage 24 inch gas snow blower. It appeared to have all the features of the Ariens brand but at a lower price. I ordered it online in October 2012 and was expecting I would have to do some minor assembly. It was delivered in my driveway fully assembled and full of gas and oil by a nice delivery man willing to do a demo. Well along came Winter Storm Charlotte to Connecticut in February. I was "Snow Excited" to try out my new snow blower. My driveway had 22 inches near the house and the town plow managed to increase that at the bottom of my driveway when they plowed the street. The snow was taller than the front section of the snow blower in some areas of the driveway. I did have to knock down some of the tall snow drifts with a shovel but this snow blower was able to clear my driveway and sidewalk of the snow without any difficulty. I would highly recommend this machine for it's ease of starting (I love the electric starter), overall performance, and price...delivered to my garage.

The best snowblower for under $600.00.Not sears or any other snowblower give as many feathers as sno tec.I previously owned a bigger Ariens that just got too old.I didn't want to spend a fortune but wanted a extremely good snowblower. After one winter upstate NY.I could not ask for more. Plenty of power, throws snow great some times too far, starts one pull every time. I did not buy the white glove service so I was worried about having to put it together, but it was shipped to a shop that put it together, put gas in it, dropped off at my house and showed me how to use it. So far so good. I highly recommended.

5 Star Review   By Cinnamoncoffee on Home Depot - Feb 26, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We got this snow blower after thinking we could shovel our way out of Maine winters. This baby has already paid for itself after 2 Nor'easters in 2 weeks. My husband used it first and then I gave it a go, and it proved to be quite fun! It's easy to handle, turns well, blows great and has gone through fine powder and super wet chunky snow with no problem. We picked this one as we didn't need all the bells and whistles and needed to stay within our budget. This is a quality machine and well worth it!

Excellent Machine for the Money
5 Star Review   By grtlkesailor on Home Depot - Feb 23, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This is a preliminary review which I will update after more use. The machine performed as described. The controls are logical, easy to use and the machine chewed through 4-5 inches of snow with ease. Relatively easy to steer and move around. Now the question is, how durable and lasting. So far, so good.

5 Star Review   By Reality on Home Depot - Feb 23, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Overall a great blower. Purchased in Fall of 2011 and it has sit in my garage since its first use in Feb of 2013. Put fresh gas in and it fired up right away. Shoots snow at least 15-20 feet and didn't have any issue with over a foot a snow. I recommend locking both wheels instead of just the one as it will pull to one side in heavy snow.

24 in. Two-Stage Electric Start Gas Snow Blower
5 Star Review   By Sunlover1975 on Home Depot - Feb 21, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

It finally happened, I purchased this Snow Blower in September 2011 and It finally snowed today 02/21/13. Total snow amount appx. 12 inches. Man this machine ate it up. The tallest drift was 2 feet and the lowest level was 8 inches. I cleared snow from my driveway & sidewalk and 9 of my neighbors in appx 4.5 hours. It worked flawlessly and only used 2.25 tanks of gas. Great product, great price and a pleasure to operate, the electric start was awesome and the manual start worked on the first try.

2 straight snow storms and have had it with this thing. Bought it 2 months ago and have never gotten it to start. If you are going to charge this much for a machine make it easy to start. Beyond frustrated and very few videos out there to help (owners manual is a complete joke).

Great Snow Blower for the Price
5 Star Review   By NewToPentwater on Home Depot - Feb 21, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Purchased this snow blower on-line about 4 weeks ago as Winter started getting serious. The Garden Dept team had the blower all ready when I showed up. Blower started with the first pull. Performance lives up to the Consumers Report: easy to operate, controls are easy to use, forward gearing is good (so many are too slow for me). Blower is noisy as expected. A few parts were loose or not well adjusted but these were factory and not HD assembly issues. Other than a few minor issues, the machine is well built and good value for the price.

Well designed, nice features, but failed in 15 minutes.
1 Star Review   By Davenkc on Home Depot - Feb 21, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This unit seems to be well designed. Nice features. Has a no name engine, which appears to be well manufactured and seemed to start and run well, however the manual for the engine appears to have been written much like manuals you receive with Chinese made products. It contains numerous grammatical and spelling errors. Important information such as the engine oil capacity (engine ships with no oil in it) are nowhere to be found. I made three passes with this unit and the drive system disintegrated rendering the unit useless. Returning tomorrow.

Let it Snow!
5 Star Review   By JohnC on Home Depot - Feb 20, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I have now used this snow blower several times and am extremely satisfied with it. It easily handles regular snow and exceeded my expectations when we received 8" of wet, heavy snow a few weeks ago. It is easy to start, whether you use the electronic start option or pull the cord. I was helping my neighbor with his driveway and let him try it and he's planning to buy this one now. Even the Free delivery from Home Depot blew me away. It showed up at my door fully assembled with oil and a full gas tank! I have already recommended this machine to family and friends. It was a great purchase in my opinion.

Consumer reports best buy. No problems in the first winter of use but wouldn't expect there to be any. Seems to get the snow off the driveway when I need it to. If it got stolen I would probably buy the same model again.

Overall the product completes the task that it is intended for, however in deeper snow or slush you have to push the machine through the snow. The machines drive system causes the machine to pull extremely hard to the right or not to move at all. The drive system is not a posi traction design it is only a single wheel drive. But the machine does throw the snow very well.

4 Star Review   By TimmyJ on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This machine is very easy to use. Very simple. Easy enough for a small person to operate with little effort yet large enough to breeze through my 250 ft driveway with 15 inches of snow on it. Only the first season with this machine but it seem to be a quality item. Starts on one pull or a push of the button.

Great machine
5 Star Review   By ZyrinxMC on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I bought this machine to replace an ancient Toro. Had been borrowing the neighbors much larger blower. This thing is fantastic. It starts super easy; hardly even have to yank the cord. I used it in the New Hampshire Blizzard in February to clear ~ 20" of snow and it worked great. Never stalled, throws a good distance, etc etc. 2 minor things - it pulls to one side somewhat.. but I've never used a snowblower that didnt to some degree. Also the speed lever isn't calibrated correctly (the last 2 are supposed to be reverse, but *usually* aren't). This is an easy tension adjustment, no problem there.

Who knew I would love snowblowing?!?
5 Star Review   By Ginny on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This is my first snowblower and I love it. It came completely put together. The gentleman who dropped it off showed me how to use it and talked to me about how to keep it running smoothly. It started right up for me and makes short work of my long sidewalks... and my neighbor's... and their neighbor's... Now if only it would snow more! ;-)

Great product
5 Star Review   By Aayan on Home Depot - Feb 18, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

It’s been more than 2 years since I bought it. Shipment was fast. This blower is super sturdy, can take good beating without problems and will last many years. It required a 10 minute assembly. I have a 150 foot long driveway which used to take about 3 hours of hand shoveling and now it’s a half hour fun walk. It has electric start capability along with pull cord. This year, when I took it out after first snow, it took a long time to start since I never added fuel stabilizer before storing it last year. I wasted no time and ordered Arian electric start power cord from Home Depot which has made the starting experience effortless. If you are using electric start and it does not start, give breaks between each try. Trying continuously might burn the ignition switch. When storing it end of the season, either empty out the fuel tank, or add fuel stabilizer or use higher grade gas (with no ethanol) and you will have no problems starting it next season. In my opinion, let both wheels be used for drive instead of one for drive and one for turn, you do it by placing the axle pin in the inner hole. You will lose traction if one wheel is dedicated to turns. Blower came with Spaded cleaning tool. Chute deflector, forward/reverse speed controller and auger engager are placed at perfect location for your convenience. The only thing I didn’t like was the placement of oil drain bolt (above the wheel) and it does not make it easy to drain oil. The only thing I wish it had is the head lights. But for what it costs, it’s an excellent product.

This snow blower was a good buy at the price for the features. I have used it a couple times and the only downside that I have had with it is the chute will slowly turn on its own while I am blowing.

Wisconsin worthy! Throws some serious snow
5 Star Review   By ptrain07 on Home Depot - Feb 15, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

As a life long Wisconsinite, I am very impressed with my new Snow Blower, it is a new line from Airens, which was the tipping point for my purchase. This bad boy is extremely easy to start, pretty easy to operate and has cut through everything this Winter has thrown at us including the really thick heavy wet snow, without the snow chute clogging up even once. It even makes relatively short work of the wall the snow plow leaves behind after they "clear" our streets. So far, I love it!

Found the blower to be an easy start with plenty of power to handle our blizzard of 2013. We had 25" of powdery snow, and then all the packed stuff 38" from the town's plowing. Bought this cuz Consumer Reports had it as a good buy. They were right. Also liked the home delivery with full assembly and personalized instructions, Free.

This machine kicked butt in snow storm
4 Star Review   By Bignunz on Home Depot - Feb 12, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I live in a community and I plowed cleared my whole block with out one problem and only filling the gas twice lol I was having fun. The only down side is the tires I will be adding chains next storm. But other than that it started first shot and never clogged ( I used the Silicon spray in the starter kit also a must have) and got down to pavement without a problem. I welcome the next snow storm and tell Mother Nature to bring more than this blizzard we had. 8 to 9" this storm.

Blizzard of 2013 surviver
5 Star Review   By DrinkMoxie on Home Depot - Feb 11, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I bought this 24" unit last year and only used it one time before spring. This year we had a blizzard here in New England which dropped 30"+ of snow. The engine started right up. (Because of the 6 month shelf life of ethanol, use fresh gas only in any snow blower!) I find the choke is hardly necessary unless it is very cold. Mine started in 1 or 2 pulls with 1/2 choke @ 24 degrees. I did 5 driveways without a hitch. It throws the snow very well and very far. It handled 24" deep with ease and I was able to remove the heavy snow drifts left by the street plows. Drift cutters would be nice to have for snow over 25". It served me very well with this 100 year storm so I am not worried about the typical winters ahead. I am very pleased and recommend this for anyone looking for a 24" unit.

Survived Nemo
5 Star Review   By Widget13 on Home Depot - Feb 10, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Bought this snow blower last fall. Didn't have much to spend but figured this machine would do the job for the occasional 12" storm. I never imagined it would be put to the test with a 30"+ storm. I have a driveway that is about 200' in length plus about 50' more that needs to be cleared to make a path to the horses. This blower performed like a champ. In places the snow had drifted to over 3' deep yet not once did this blower fail to clear the snow.

Awesome machine for the money
5 Star Review   By PaulDe3 on Home Depot - Feb 10, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

What a great value for a tremendous workhorse. I bought it pre assembled. Got home, filled the gas and oil, and went straight to work non stop for about 6 hours. Cut through 2 feet of snow like it wasn't even there. Only cons: wish it had a headlight, and reverse speed is so slow its easier to just pull it backwards. But for the money, it can't be beat.

Best snow blower ever!
5 Star Review   By Bret on Home Depot - Feb 9, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I have owned a few snow blowers but this one is the best by far. We just had over one foot of snow. The ends of the drive ways were higher than the intake of the snow blower. Maybe 2 feet high. This machine took full cuts (24" wide) and cleaned up everything in its path. It had to be tossing the snow at least 40 feet at times. It was easy to put the snow right where I wanted to with the great controls it has. You can control the shoot while you are moving. This makes this machine much faster at moving a lot of snow than other machines. Glad I got this one. Couldn't be happier with it. It's twice as fast as my old toro 5/21 1980's vintage blower at moving snow. Get one of these and you will not regret it.

Just got done with 2nd biggest snow ever - GREAT SNOW BLOWER
5 Star Review   By Danny on Home Depot - Feb 9, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I am writing this on the morning after a blizzard. I awoke to an easy 24" of snow with five foot drifts. This was the second biggest storm on record at Bradley Field which is 10 miles away. My Snow Tek snow blower handled this beast perfectly. Without a hitch. This machine busted through the piles of snow at the end of my driveway from the plows without issue. It bogged down just a bit, but never stopped working. I was surprised it handled this so well, given the weight and volume of the snow. That was it's biggest test. It has no problem throwing moderately heavy snow about 25' while clearing four to five foot snow banks. It nimbly carved it's way around two vehicles in the driveway; I like the power of this machine, but also find it quite easy to maneuver. It handled cutting a couple of figure eights in my moderately level yard so my dogs can go. So, I'm super-impressed and really happy with the performance of this snow blower. I bought it in the Fall from Home Depot. I was happily surprised that it was shipped to my local hardware store, who assembled it, delivered it, and gave me a five minute explanation of how it worked. I'm glad I tested it a month later (before snow season), because there was a small issue with the set-up - which was handled by the store which delivered it to me. While it does have an electric starter, it requires that you plug it in to an extention cord - therefore I doubt it will see any use. The pull-start is fine; it starts on the first or second pull every time. I'm glad that I opted for the 208cc engine (the same that powers the 28" Sno Tek) as opposed to the 136cc which comes in the next unit down. I have absolutely no issues with this machine, recommend it, and would buy again. I would recommend making sure you have an Ariens dealer close by (it is manufactured and warrantied by Ariens), in order to take advantage of the delivery, maintenance, and repair service. If I were to do this all over again, I would most definitely settle on this machine.

Amazing Quality for Money
5 Star Review   By MiddleAgedGuy on Home Depot - Feb 9, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We got 36" of snow last night and have about a 150' driveway at a 12% grade. This machine cleared it in about 90 minutes. It was an absolute beast. I don't know what else to say except I had no right to ask this machine to move that much snow that quickly. It threw the snow a good distance over fairly-steep embankments and started easily both on the electric starter and the pull. We definitely feel we got our money's worth.

Nemo no match! Two wheel drive!
5 Star Review   By Skiz on Home Depot - Feb 9, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

So far so good. I bought this in anticipation of Winter Storm Nemo, which turned out to be a good decision. We have about 24" of snow and its still coming down. I picked it up already assembled, but BE SURE TO ADJUST THE SKID SHOES! The scraper blade was touching the ground when I brought it home. You need to leave atleast 1/8 of an inch under the blade. See page 24 of the manual. You simply need to put something under the lower blade, loosen the skid shoes on the sides, and then drop the skid shoes down to the ground then retighten. My first use it started right up and had no problem getting through about a foot of relatively light snow. The swivel chute moves easily with the swivel rod which is great because other units I looked at you had to crank turn the chute which would have been a pain. For those who say its only one wheel drive, that's not correct. Read page 17 of the instruction manual. You simply need to move the pin on the unlocked wheel (right side) to lock that wheel. Some people prefer one wheel drive for easier turning, but I prefer two wheel for getting up my steep driveway. Overall pretty happy with this purchase and glad it's an Ariens which I've heard great things about. The 2 year warranty is a big plus! For $600 you really can't find a better deal with the 205 degree swivel chute, 6 speeds, and big 20" height auger. Only downside is the manual is a bit confusing and doesn't even mention the engine oil capacity. Fortunately the Home Depot site says the oil capacity is 1 quart.

very good for small to medium size residential properties. best engine /bucket size combo for your money.i have cleared over 12 " with ease. the directions to start up are on machine, so the Mrs. can use it too. throws snow high & far so if u have retaining walls along your driveway you can easily clear it. hint, lock the other wheel before you use it. i fought the machine a little bit with only one wheel locked in wet heavy snow. once i locked the other one, it was a breeze. another hint, spray chute and bucket with some form of lubricant (WD-40,white lithium grease, Pam, etc..) so u don't have any build up in heavy wet snow conditions. all in all very satisfied....

Great snow-thrower
5 Star Review   By Kadera on Home Depot - Feb 5, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We received the Sno-Tek 2-stage 24-in snow-thrower unassembled, on a pallet, in the usual partially assembled state. I'm pretty handy but it still took about 4 hours all told for me to get the installation done. The main obstacle, as far as I'm concerned, was the instructions. They were dense, convoluted, sent me several times to other sections in either the same or the other engine manual. The font chosen was very tiny, also. I guess what I'm saying is the documentation really would have benefited from a single, well-illustrated, large typeface "How to Assemble" manual, and not one that also tried to serve as a maintenance, troubleshooting, and everything else. Moreover, they also used the same documentation for several models, so at times I had to figure out which one was applicable to mine. (Fair disclosure: I write technical documentation for a living and so am very critical when I see what I feel is poorly done docs.) As a result, there were a few missteps along the way, things I didn't do in the correct order until I went back and rechecked. That all said, I got it done, filled with oil and gas (there was already some oil in the engine, but it wasn't full), and it started on the first try of the electric starter. Luckily, we had a snowstorm a couple weeks later so I could try out the snow-thrower -- about 3-in worth, but deeper in drifts. I also got to see how it worked on the large concrete area in front of our garage, as well as down a long gravel & dirt driveway. For sure -- don't forget to adjust the skids to the different height required for each type of terrain. And I also soon learned that down on the gravel/dirt part of our driveway, I really did need to lock both wheels to get adequate traction. Anyway, a job that would've taken me more than a day, because we do have a really long drive, only took about 90 minutes to finish. I'd definitely get this product again.

I just got this machine and used it once on a 5 inch storm. It started up with one pull. I didn't need the electric start. It throws the snow a good long way and even took care of th slush if you go slow enough. A nice detail on this blower is the fuel shut off. With the alcohol content in the gas we buy, I always put a fuel shut off on all my small engines and let the engine run until it shuts off from fuel starvation before putting it away. I was happy to see it already has one. All in all its a nice little machine. One more plus is that a local dealer set it up and delivered it. They check it out and run it before you get it.

This unit works amazingly well. All of my neighbors with snow blowers are jealous of my new unit. They notice it is more powerful, throws the snow further, and operates very well. I love this snow blower. It has been able to tackle the deepest, heavy and wet snow (over 2 feet deep) pushed in front of our driveway by the snowplow. The deep heavy stuff barely slows the engine down, and the engine has never killed no matter how heavy and deep the snow is that I push it into.

Having only used it for a month I cant comment on long term quality or longevity, but so far it has performed wothout problem and feels solid enough that hopefuly it lasts many many years. Couple important things to know is that initially it will require some tuning and adjustments to get the bolts at the right tension, scraper to correct height, etc. and the blower is heavy so for safety should be a two person job. Also it's important to know the limitations of the machine. It's not going to climb hills for you for you or plow through three feet of packed snow...but for clearing my driveway of 1-2 ft of wet snow it had the power to get the job done. My only gripe is the wheels could have better traction. with one wheel free i had to push through icey patches and alternatively it takes some muscle to turn and maneuver n with both wheels engaged. with o

Did a lot of research and decided on this snow blower. Highly recommended for the money. Cannot beat the power, features and price. Purchased from HD on-line and was delivered fully assembled and gassed up by a local dealer (white glove delivery) for free.

Great for the price
4 Star Review   By Brian on Home Depot - Jan 8, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I bought this the night before an impending snowstorm. Home Depot had it ready to roll when I picked it up. I brought it home, gassed it up, and it started with no problems. Two snow storms later, it has performed as well as I could have hoped in both powder snow and slushy wet snow. My only complaint is that the chute is a little loose directionally. I will point it to the left, and as I move forward, it fades and will eventually be pointing straight, so you have to move it back.

Awesome machine.
5 Star Review   By Umzy on Home Depot - Jan 7, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Bought this machine the day before a big storm hit Michigan. We ended up with 10" of heavy snow. The sno-tek ate it without a complaint. I live on a 4 lane road, needless to say, my driveway gets BURIED when the county plow comes though. The sno-tek threw the heavy slushy snow half way up the telephone pole near my driveway. Haven't yet tried the electric start as it started on the first pull!

It's MADE IN AMERICA.
5 Star Review   By BigLou on Home Depot - Jan 6, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This was my first snowblower and I couldn't be happier. We get a lot of product for the money. The quality is excellent. The electric start which I used for the first start up was great. Later during my first use I had shut it down, and didn't want to go back to the garage to hook it back up to an extension cord, and used the pull start. It started on the first pull. I had some deep areas from previous snow falls and plowed into it with this machine, and the full power kicked in. I was surprised how powerful the motor the is and how matter of fact it handled the pile of snow. Many safety features built in, and its a good looking machine

Everything was as expected, no surprises.
4 Star Review   By Robert on Home Depot - Jan 4, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

The machine was delivered exactly as promised, and assembly was a little involved, but not difficult. I was amazed that it started on the first pull after I put the gas in it. I have only used it once so far, but it performed very well in about 18 inches of light powder. I have some more adjustments to make to the controls to get it working perfectly, but that shouldn't be a problem. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase.

2 Star Review   By Buffaloguy on Home Depot - Jan 3, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Got this home, used it about 20 minutes and the friction wheel broke. I returned it the next day but will buy a better one this time. I guess you really do get what you pay for.

I'm satisfied with the product, except it was delivered with a very low tire. I put air in it,but it goes right back down. I

Left tire will not stay inflated. Otherwise I'm satisfied.

Better than I Thought
5 Star Review   By UgateeMoogha on Home Depot - Jan 1, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We recently bought a house with a 500 ft. gravel driveway. I had to find a way to clear the snow without putting ruts in the gravel. After checking around and reading Consumer Reports, I decided this was our best bet. It shipped in a box and some assembly was required, but not too bad. So far, we've received two snowfalls. Six inches and four inches. This Sno-Tek made short work of both. It's only 24" wide but going down and back the driveway four times created a nice, wide path for our cars. It's light enough that, if it starts to throw gravel, I just push the handlebar down a little as the blower marches on. I thought I'd have to stop and clear snow from the machinery or that it would sometimes stall. No so! It's actually fun and I think I've found the perfect solution. I live in SW Ohio where the average snowfall is about 12" / year. If you live further north, you may want to do more research. My guess is this unit could throw up to 9" of slurry and 16" of powder without a problem. I paid $600 (online) plus tax. Shipping was free. Hope this helps.

Nice snowblower. Bring on the snow.
5 Star Review   By viking on Home Depot - Jan 1, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

So far this seems to be a high quality snowblower. Had no problem throwing very wet slushy snow where as my other two stage would not be ablel to do it. I highly recommend this snowblower. A rep came out and went through the instructions and had everything setup and ready to go.

Great blower
5 Star Review   By FYODH on Home Depot - Dec 31, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I've had this model through an entire Maine winter and now into it's second. This unit starts like a champ with a very easy pull, I haven't actually used the electric start because it is so easy to pull. It has never even hiccupped on a start, first pull every time. It is very easy and intuitive to operate, and digs right through even the deepest, heavy, wet snows. I am far more satisfied with this blower than I was expecting.

This Snow Blower Is Sno-Tek It means just what it Says!
5 Star Review   By richjr on Home Depot - Dec 31, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I researched a host of snow blowers, for quality, performance, durability, price, and ease of use for various snow amounts and sno-tek by far out weigh any that I have researched. Consumer Reports have given this snow blower high ratings. We recently purchased the 24" 2 stage sno-tek, I have no regrets, but only to get more snow so I can really let it do it's thing. Recently we got about 4" to 5" inches of snow, and at the end of my driveway the snow plow left about 4 to 5 inches of snow after I had cleared my driveway the following day, so by then this snow was hard and frozen, I broke out my new sno-tek and began to dig into this hard snow at the end of my driveway, it plowed right through the hard snow like it was not there, throwing it from 20 to 30 feet in the air, I was blown away by the over all performance of this new machine. Yes it is bigger than my neighbors, we would highly recommend this product to anyone, it's well worth the money, we have plowed about 6 dirveways and never had a problem..God bless and we hope our review helps in making your decision...
