Ok, but not sure I would buy again
Strengths: Plenty of power
Weakness: Impeller pulley design (see comments)
This is my first snow blower so I'm assigning a score of "satisfactory" seeing as how I have nothing else in mind to compare it to.
I have a crushed stone driveway so I expect to go through about 1 shear pin every two or three storms despite my best efforts not to allow the machine to dig in. These pins are quite expensive (from Husqvarna) at $7 a piece.
The design of the impeller pulley leaves much to be desired. There is the usual small, rectangular key that slides into a groove in the shaft leading out to the augers. There is not, however, a similar groove in the impeller pulley. Instead, the manufacturer saw fit to weld the key to the inside surface of the impeller pulley. The shear pins mentioned above do work (break), but after going through only three shear pins the key for this pulley sheared along it's length. This is what a shaft key is supposed to do, but instead of my being able to pick up another key at the local hardware store for a dollar or two I need to order the whole $18 impeller pulley from Husqvarna... which equates to $ and down time (several weeks). I can see this will happen again and I'm preparing by ensuring that I always have a spare pulley on hand in addition to a handfull of shear pins.
Disappointing seeing as how I have only used this snow blower approx 8 times (last winter in New Hampshire was very mild). I suppose the shoveling is good exercise though.

Auger Just Stopped Turning, Auger Control Handle Flops and has no tension, Auger and pins are fine
Strengths: pulls strong, easy start especially with electric start, throws well
Weakness: construction is of fair/good quality considering the 1k price we paid, shoot not very adjustable for the cap angle portion
Bought mine about 5 yrs ago too. Yesterday the auger stopped. The auger handle flops as if a cable is broken but I have no cable into the lower box. Something inside the box area has detached or broke so I have to take it apart to find out. The auger itself and the pins are all intact with the belt. But the tension wheel seems to be loose too because I can move it by hand. So I agree for 1k this should be constructed better. The first year the handle bolts came off and I had to replace with lock nuts from of all places HD.

Husky 10530 Snow Thrower
Strengths: Just about perfect
Weakness: A little difficult to change oil
This Snow Thrower is a masterpiece. I used it last winter in New England where we had well over 1oo inches of snow. It is a complete workhorse and easily cleared one storm that left over 30 inches of snow, and I have a 500 foot driveway.

Husqvarna 10530sbe Snow Blower
Strengths: Everything from the great steering to it trowing snow like mad. Made like a Mack truck, fit and finish are great. Put it on low speed because this thing will pull hard. Traction is great on wet snow.
Weakness: You need to use a GFI out let for the elec. start. But who cares this thing came to life like no other gas powered tool I own with 3 pushes of the primer and one pull thats it one pull out of the box!
If you want a monster that just laughs at snow this is your boy. I don't care about the Honda at double the price this machine kicks butt! From it's great constrution to it ability to throw snow it's number one in my book!

The absolute worse experience
Strengths: None. It's worse than that - expect it to work for snow? Guess again. This machine fails way more than it works.
Weakness: Everything. I have a one, less than a year, and it's been in the shop for repairs 4 times !!!! Guess what? I start it before the snow comes tonight, and it doesn't go into gear!
Every time I've used this machine, it's failed, one way or another. Again, it's been in the shop for repairs 4 times last year. Once it wouldn't throw snow because of a broken internal bolt; another time it wouldn't start (electric start didn't work, so pull, pull pull!!! and still, no start). Another time one of the wheels was locked in neutral, which made it only good for going in circles (oh what fun!). Another time it would not engage into gear (you can guess, another broken part inside - this time a bracket). Finally, I start it (suprise this time, it did start), but wait - again it won't go into gear! Have mercy, and save yourself. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE!!!!!

Strengths: looks good
Weakness: everything else about it
I made the huge mistake of buying based on a name. This is one of the worst investments I have ever made. Immediately after purchase the right wheel gear shattered (that allows the machine to pivot) and I had to jerry rig it with a pin through the rim to get it to move straight and not in circles. It is difficult to start, the pull cord broke and cannot be replaced without replacing the whole pull assembly. It won't throw snow more than a few feet and if I get heavy snow or more than an inch or so you have to move at a snails pace or the snow just rolls out of the chute down the side of machine. I would love to get my money back and buy something that works. Won't ever buy ANYTHING with the husqvarna name plate on it again.
