Excellent product
5 Star Review   By Ptaaty on Home Depot - Jun 12, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Amazing power in a package quieter than my old electric. I am a sold believer in Echo, they truly do have commecial quality the consumer can buy. Performance is top notch. There is nothing better at the price point. There are only two cons with this product, both are the upsell features that are corrected by the PB-255LN which I did not find worth the extra $$: 1. There is a bit more vibration feedback (not bad at all actually) than I would prefer. I didn't notice it until about 10-15 minutes of continuous use. I will be adding a bit of bike handlebar wrap (255 has a rubber handle). 2. No second parallel handle for easing direction changes. You can brace or hold other parts of the blower if you are really whipping it around, but after using it, a second dedicated handle would be nice (255 has this). If you prefer to have higher nozzle speed to loosen stuck debris (at reduced CFM). I have confirmation from echo that "the Flared nozzle part number E165000191 can be used on the end of the PB-250LN." Just search online for it. Finally I had concerns regarding the new 50 hour EPA rating. The response from Echo: "Thank you for taking the time to e-mail ECHO, Inc. ECHO changed the emissions compliance period to 50 hours on several opening price point products sold at independent dealers and the Home Depot for model year 2013. The ECHO models impacted by the change are the GT-225, SRM-225, PB-250LN, PB-265LN, PE-225 and CS-310. These models were chosen by ECHO for the 50 hour rating because their product registration data now shows a large majority are sold to homeowners. For purposes of emissions reporting, the government assumes a typical homeowner will run their hand held gas powered equipment for 50 hours before replacing it and therefore these products belong in the 50 hour emissions compliance period category. There are NO CHANGES to the actual ECHO engines themselves as part of this change to a 50 hour emissions compliance period. The products have the exact same level of performance and durability as before and they still have the same 5 year consumer warranty. ALL ECHO engines are still commercial grade, but for the six models with the new emissions compliance period, they are simply commercial grade engines being sold primarily to homeowners." So this is more of a reporting issue than any chage or degradation compared with the other products.

Great Bang for the Buck!
4 Star Review   By SodaPM on Home Depot - May 23, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Overall I have to say that this blower has done what its supposed to do. It is easy to use and maintain, not hard to get it to start and once its warmed-up it turns on on the first pull. Looks great, the material looks and feels very durable I feel comfortable knowing that I wont need a blower for a few years. I have about an11,000 sq/ft lot and I usually use the blower through the whole lot at least once a week (I have a pool so I want to make sure that leafs dont get into it) and even after a 45 minute use, it still feels light and NOT HOT which is great! The only reason that I didn't give it a 5 star was because I wish that it had a little more power (which I guess I would have gotten with a more expensive blower). So if you are looking for a blower that does a quick clean up than this is the machine for you but if you are looking for something that can get wet leaves or stuck leaves out of shrubbs than you might consider going with a higher powered blower.... even at full speed I couldnt get wet leafs to move from the concrete.

Great with a minor design flaw
4 Star Review   By MK24 on Home Depot - May 21, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This is a very nice blower. Easy to start up if you read the manual, works well, is pretty quiet as far as blowers are concerned and is VERY light! I was really surprised how light this one is! Put out a good wind for blowing grass and always starts up with only a few pulls (usually 4). My ONLY complaint is the fuel tank - It's difficult to see how full it is so you risk spilling if you're not careful and the hole is a little too close to the motor - makes it a little difficult to pour. The manual also suggests that you empty the unused fuel back into the storage container....? Seems a bit odd. Overall, you will like this one!

Great blower
5 Star Review   By Bill43 on Home Depot - May 8, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Have had this almost a year now . Replaced a PB200 model . Knew from the first start this was powerful . Reading the "description" here ,it says "Vibration...YES" . They are correct. It vibrates . My only issues with it . Echo should put a rubber handle grip on it . Have to swap hands often due to the vibes . But a great blower I think .

Powerful, lightweight, and inexpensive compared to other models
5 Star Review   By William242 on Home Depot - Feb 12, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

After using a PB-200 for 8 years as the primary blower, this is a good upgrade. It always starts up for me on the 2nd pull, and after ~1-2 minutes of idle on 3/4 choke, it's ready to go. I just blew my neighbor's back yard who has many decks and walkways which he does not regularly blow/maintain. In about 45 minutes, I blew his whole back yard (fairly large), after it had rained for a few days, and it was (in some parts) ~6-7 inches of wet leaves. This was the biggest project I have ever taken on with a handheld blower, and I probably wouldn't have attempted it with the PB-200. Needless to say, this thing has lots of power. I personally do not mind the stop switch, I just turn it back to the 'on' position immediately after the engine has stopped. I would definitely recommend this product.

Light, Powerful Blower
5 Star Review   By illahee3103 on Home Depot - Jan 8, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

My local Home Depot did not have the blower in stock so I ordered it on my phone while standing in the store. It was shipped to my home for free. Very convenient. I should have just ordered it online in the first place! Blower was easy to assemble. It started easily. It is very powerful and worked great for blowing the pine straw and leaves off my roof. It's also light so nice for carrying up a ladder, and comfortable to use in general. The Echo blower was not inexpensive - but somewhat less than a Husqvarna or a Stihl with comparable performance (which I would generally consider the premium brands). I am hopefull the Echo will be durable.

So far so good! Meets and exceeds my expectations so far.
4 Star Review   By Rick on Home Depot - Nov 6, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

My 15 year old son put it together out of the box. It took a little more to start the first time than I expected but no problem since. Used it 3 times in 3 weeks with no problem. Cleans garage floor out in minutes. It is quieter than I expected too. For a bigger job I can see using backpack model.

Smooth and quiet
5 Star Review   By GAB10 on Home Depot - Oct 16, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Old gas powered blower was noisy and took many, many tries to get started. This one was impressive right out of the box in that it looked like a well made product and required about 30 seconds to assemble the blower tube, gas up, prime, pull the starter rope and go. Runs smooth and is surprisingly quiet. Very powerful too for a non-backpack blower.

Outstanding light duty blower
5 Star Review   By keifer on Home Depot - Sep 15, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I upgraded to this blower from a well rated corded blower recently after noticing that I just never used my old blower because lugging the cord around was a pain. My uses for a blower are simple really ...keep garage clean, clean up after a mowing, minimal leaf maintenance. This blower handles those chores with exceptional ease. The numbers are a bit misleading on this blower as they seem quite low, but for my needs, I barely need to come off idle to move the debris. That is not an exaggeration at all...idle puffs enough air to move all dust out of my garage without kicking up a ridiculous dust storm and can clear clippings and mulch from my driveway and walk easily. moving grass clumps and leaves off of the lawn certainly requires more power, but the unit works well there too. My unit starts and runs flawlessly. I did read some reviews where this is not the case, but my experiences wit Echo engines have been terrific. The cruise feature is nice and allows a user to set the throttle anywhere between idle and full without squeezing the trigger. Nice. The on/off switch is not momentary so you do have to remember to have it in the on position when starting the unit. This sounds silly, but can be easy to forget at times and I found myself wondering if that was a culprit for others who couldn't get the unit started and then flooded it. I simply turn the unit back to the on position after I am finished with it so that I don't goof it up. At this price, a momentary switch seems better. The locking system on the tube works well and is exceptionally secure. Some users have complained about the intake on the left. This has not been trouble for me, but I have occasionally felt the unit try to suck on my pants. I would prefer that over burning me with the exhaust. It really presents no danger or comfort issues for me, but I would advise wearing clothes that are not super loose just in case. Noise level is acceptable. Not too loud, but not whisper quite either. I would still recommend ear protection even though it is rated low noise. Overall I really like this unit. I use it all the time because it is not tethered to a cord so it was money well spent for me.

Echo 250 leaf blower - Good value for the money
4 Star Review   By Allen on Home Depot - Sep 9, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I caught this leaf blower at Home Depot on special...it was marked down to $149 and I bought the display model for $119 and I had a $35 coupon which brought the price down to $85. I really didn't need another blower, but I could't pass up this deal. Anyway, there are much more powerful handheld blowers out there, but this blower is a good value for the money. It starts easily, idles smoothly, and comes up to power quickly. I also have a Stihl BG86 that is twice the blower, but also twice the price.....so you get what you pay for. My first Echo purchase and I'm happy with it. The only improvements I would recommend would be to change the shut-off switch so that is automatically returns to the ready to start position and to use an anti-vibe material on the handle to reduce the ergo-burden on your hand-wrist-forearm (much like Stihl products have already incorporated). Also, switch the intake side of the blower to the opposite side so the intake doesn't come in contact with your pants (as most people are right handed).

Very Quiet - Starts and Runs Great - Powerful Blower
4 Star Review   By SuperTool on Home Depot - Aug 20, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This is my first ever gas blower, and I chose the ECHO PB-250LN for its very low noise level rating. It's very quiet and way below the level that would require ear protection. In fact, it's quieter than my 4-stroke Honda GCV160 lawn mower engine, which is itself very quiet. I did some research and the only other handheld blower I could find that was this quiet is the much more expensive Stihl BG 66 L. I bought this blower recently at my local Home Depot, where it was selling for less than the online price, knowing that I could inspect the box before leaving the store and return it within 30 days if there were any problems. So, don't believe the "online exclusive" stuff and check your local HD store for stock and pricing before buying online. I wanted to begin on the right foot and avoid possible gas quality and ethanol problems, and bought a couple of quart cans of Trufuel 50:1 pre-mix. I probably will only consume two cans a year, so it's only going to cost me about $5 more a year than mixing my own gas and oil. So far I've used this blower twice and had no starting or full throttle running problems. It is a bit cold blooded, and needs at least 3 minutes warmup before it runs cleanly at full speed. Right now the weather is very warm where I live, so warmup may take even longer in cooler weather. I suspect that the cold blooded nature of this machine may be due in part to very lean jetting to meet EPA requirements. I found that it actually starts easier w/o using any throttle when pulling the starter cord with the choke closed. Also, you can't flood the carb with the primer bulb, so I prime a bunch of extra times to make sure all air has been purged. It takes about two pulls on choke plus a single pull off choke to get it started this way. Hot restarts are an easy one pull affair every time. The blowing power is very strong and it has no trouble moving heavy and wet debris that is several feet away from the blower pipe nozzle. There is no visible exhaust smoke and virtually no odor. It seems to be very thrifty on gas and has used only about 1/4 tankful in about a total of 30 minutes use. There is some vibration in the handle, however, and gloves with some padding are needed to avoid fatigue. It weighs just over 10 lbs with the gas tank half full, and my arm does get tired holding it for more than five minutes at a time. Overall, I am very pleased with this product, and am rating it 4 stars rather than 5 only because it isn't perfect and long term reliability and durability cannot be assessed since it is relatively new.

Unpacked it, mixed up the included oil into a gallon of fresh gas in a brand new container, added the mix to the tank, primed it a few times, and it fired right up after a couple pulls. Very quiet and much more powerful than my 12-year old Echo blower that recently wore out. A week later when I needed it again it took about a hundred pulls to get it started. The week after that it wouldn't start at all. A piece of junk. My last Echo puchase ever.

Best product
5 Star Review   By pete on Home Depot - Jul 11, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This blower works perfectly. I use it for semi-pro lawn care - I have about 20 houses that I do. Prime it 3 times and it starts up on the first or second pull. Give it 30 seconds to warm up and it'll have more power than any other handheld gas blower out there. When I start up the blower at other houses it never needs priming or anything - it just starts right up. The manual has a long list of maintenance tasks, but I just clean the air filter every few months and it has run well so far for me - I've had it for about 6 months now, but it gets used every day from April to November. Best value out there. Also great on gas and not too heavy. Not too loud compared to my craftsman trimmer's 2-cycle engine. The only small thing I could ask for is that the power switch automatically reset to ON after turning it off. But it's not a big deal on an otherwise perfect product. I let my neighbor borrow it once and he went out and bought one the next day.
