Great Mower
5 Star Review   By member Riversideclient - Aug 6, 2014

Bought this mower two and half years ago on line, the battery that came with the mower worked fine cutting my multilevel yard approx 5000spft Stars right up, runs powerful. In the Spring and Fall when grass is heavier one battery is not enough, so I purchased a second battery; whoya!!! no more problems it works beautiful and self-prop is a charm. Too bad they don't make it a 25 inches. Recharging is quick and easy especially with two batteries. I have three yard levels with pronounced slopes....no problem. Love it.

Best Lawn Mower I've Ever Used
5 Star Review   By BillC on Home Depot - Jun 18, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Moved into a new home with a smallish yard and hadn't used a lawn mower for a few years. Wanted something electric and cordless that was easy to start and use. This mower was perfect. Shipped quickly, no time at all to put together, and extremely easy to use. It's pretty quiet and the self-propelled feature has a variable speed that works well. We have a small yard - takes only about 45 min to do front and back which uses up about 2/3 of the charge so far so I don't know how long charge works for larger yard.

Great Features and Run Time Though Heavy
4 Star Review   By Nick on Home Depot - Jun 14, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

My yard is anything but "easy." Certainly NOT level and some tough grass ("weeds") in spots. This mower has not disappointed. Although it is much heavier than gas-powered, the self-propelled feature is a real life-saver. Cuts evenly and is easy to raise/lower height. Plug in/charging couldn't be easier. On average I cut 40-45 minutes, but haven't run out of a charge yet! Great mower!

Very disappointed
1 Star Review   By Treetop on Home Depot - Jun 8, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

The first one I ordered came damaged - the cushioning on the handle was torn and the chassis was cracked. The second one, the height adjuster didn't work well in addition the weight of the battery lower it as well. After about three yards into the lawn the mower just lost cutting power. Retuned it - getting a gas power mower instead - so much for trying to be more 'green.' Staff at Evanston Home Depot were very friendly and helpful when returning this online purchase.

Great except for the battery
3 Star Review   By chaspvoch on Home Depot - Jun 6, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

16 months into ownership: I have about 10k sq ft of yard to cut. I have to cut about half on 2 different days to get it all done. The battery will only last long enough to cut the front and one side, then I cut the back and the other side on another day. A smaller yard,

Just what I needed for my small sunken garden lawn.
5 Star Review   By Spud on Home Depot - Jun 4, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Ordered this mower to replace old gas mower. Only used one tank of gas per year. Lawn area was only 500 sq. feet. Cordless electric was the perfect solution. Also light weight to carry down to sunken garden lawn. No more winter storage issues. I can leave the electric mower downstairs and just haul the battery upstairs in the winter for storage and charge maintenance. Love the single lever height adjustment and the switch for mulching or bagged discharge.

home depot was great, but mower not
1 Star Review   By Boris on Home Depot - May 31, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

purchased online, arrived yesterday, no apparent damage to box. Looked great as I unpacked it but I noticed left front wheel would not roll because it was bent in to a left turn and rubbing on mower body. Not sure how this happened--must have been manufacturing defect--because the "axle" is very stiff. I returned it to Home Depot, who was great about the deal. Not sure what I will buy now. Product otherwise looked very well made.

Cool Mower!!
5 Star Review   By Bill on Home Depot - May 28, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Got mower quickly. Easy to put together. I bought this for my 78 year old dad & after 1 mowing, he loves it! My 77 year old mother can use it too! This is their 2nd Black & Decker cordless mower, but their first self propelled. I hope it holds up as good as their last one.

so far so good
5 Star Review   By Royboy on Home Depot - May 28, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I have used corded electric mowers for over 30 years for the convenience and no hassles of keeping gasoline, motor oil etc. My new cordless self-propelled electric takes the convenience 2 steps further! No cord to worry about or manage while maneuvering around the yard and the self-propelled feature is great - the difference between pushing my old corded mower and this self propelled is like night and day. I have mowed my yard 3 times so far with this mower and it has performed very well - it has ample power and only uses about half the battery charge to do my yard which is about 100' by 100'. Of course the real proof of the pudding will come later this summer when we start getting almost daily afternoon rains and I will have to mow the St. Augustine grass lawn when it is still somewhat wet, but I suspect it will be fine. Don't be afraid to take the leap to this new technology. Battery power beats corded electric and gasoline hands down for applications like mine.

I have had my mower now for 3 months and have put it to the test. I will recommend buying an extra battery, it's totally worth it! I am so glad I bought this mower. It is a breeze to mow!! The adjustments are easy, the automatic drive makes it easier for me, and I never have to pull a dumb cord to start! Just push the button and go!! AND NO GAS!

Works great
4 Star Review   By James on Home Depot - May 14, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Battery holds up well and it's very easy to use. Obviously there's not as much power as a gas mower, but it's still enough to get the job done.

Arrived with multiple problems.
1 Star Review   By WvilleGuy on Home Depot - May 13, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

The mower arrived with multiple defects. One rear wheel was bent and made a loud clicking noise. One front wheel was not attached tightly. The side of the mower deck was cracked. One of the brackets to which the handle attaches was bent and did not completely secure the handle on that side. I probably would have liked this mower; however, given the number of issues, either due to manufacturing or shipping, I'm a little tentative to try a replacement.

This mower works well and it is easy to use.
4 Star Review   By Kathy on Home Depot - May 12, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I have not used a lawn mower in many years and was a bit apprehensive about how I would manage. With the "self-propelled" feature, it is quite easy to use. My only issue is that I'm not able to mow our entire lawn in one charge. If your lawn is even close to 1/3 of an acre I would consider getting a mower that has a large capacity - or perhaps a corded mower or gas propelled.

Mower runs a long time on battery !
5 Star Review   By Sparky56 on Home Depot - May 7, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

The Black & Decker cordless mower was very easy to assemble and ready to use out of the box. I tried it out and mowed my entire lawn without ever charging the battery. Battery just lifts out for charging or you can charge it while in the mower. Mows good with or without the bag attached. Have not tried it on Tall grass yet. Folds up for easy storage!

Good But Doesn't Like the Heavy Stuff
5 Star Review   By Sequoiahealth on Home Depot - May 7, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This is a nice mower that gives about an hour of cut time. It does not like tall grass but if you can cut regularly enough it is quiet, mulches nicely, easy to adjust the height, starts first time every time and doesn't smell like gas or oil.

Works well, quiet, no mess.
4 Star Review   By Rich111 on Home Depot - May 7, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Better than anticipated after two mowings, each about 7,000 sq feet, with reasonable charge still available. Self propelled works fine on my basically level lawn. Easy set up and run and electric is quiet and mess free. Had to adjust a couple of screws that had shifted wheels in transport, but, after that worked fine. Basically light plastic construction, may limit lifetime, but, makes it easy to keep clean. At this point would recommend if you are tired of gas units, and want something quiet and simple. I have a front and back lawn, each about 7,000 sq ft. Each one takes about 30 minutes. Have not tried both without a recharge, but, think it would be close.

The charge lasts for my average front and the backyard. Once you figure out how to use the self propell lever ( just like a gas pedal in the car, you have to let go at certain times) starting the engine and cutting grass is easy. No cord and no gasoline to worry about. Is pricey though.

Arrived with a broken front left wheel. Manufacturers warranty will work but due to the season I am on a long waiting list for repairs. I wish I could use it. The wheel assembly appears somewhat fragile. This was an online order that shipped across the continental US.

Easy to use
5 Star Review   By SmartShopper on Home Depot - Mar 5, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I bought this mower after weeks of checking out cordless and corded. This mower does everything it claims. I was afraid of the variable speed self propelled, that it would be too fast for a 62 year old woman with arthritis. I was wrong. It is slow enough for me and fast enough for the strongest guy. Switching from bag to mulch is a breeze. The self propelled also works with the blade is turned off, so no pushing the thing when your tied after an hour of mowing. If u have a large yard, like me, I do suggest getting an additional battery if your going to mow for over an hour. I did and it's simple to switch batteries and keep on going while you charge the first battery.
