Good snow blower
5 Star Review   By wisconsindude on Home Depot - Dec 20, 2008

This is my first snow blower; I looked all over & read many reviews before deciding on this one. If you ever hear "they don't build them like they use to" well this one is. Much better construction than simular models also almost all metal. The only advise that I have is if you get a decient amount of snow each year & are looking at a small unit; I would not buy anything smaller than this. Spend the extra money & get one that actualy works like it's suppose to. Hope this helps.

If you have more than 4-5ft of snow yearly, get it
5 Star Review   By pele808 on Home Depot - Nov 20, 2008

I live near Home Depot and Lowes so it was very easy comparing a handful of machines. I eventually ended up with this model and here's why: This machine comes with a three year warranty, is almost all metal, has a gear driven chute that stays in place, and pin lock wheels for power steering. Although it is more expensive than similar spec'd models I found the Ariens to be much better built for just a few dollars more. With the help of my two year old son who I let push, pull, and tug on a variety of blowers it was clear this machine unlike the other plastic types was not going to come apart. Yes there are $300 electric weed-eater single stage all plastic units with excellent reviews but remember those are for smooth surfaces only. Besides durability my other concern was parts and service after the warranty expired. I checked out Ariens, looked up this model, and it appears ordering parts is almost as easy as click and pull. By the way, this model is a consumer guides best buy.

Great Machine
5 Star Review   By ErikD on Home Depot - Dec 17, 2007

This machine worked awesome. When I got home with it my driveway had 12 inches of snow and this thing didn't care. I cleared my driveway in about 10-15 minutes. It warmed up in no time and just cranked. It has plenty of horsepower. It is big enough to take on the job and small enough to get into tight areas. I highly recommend this snow thrower. I am not a fan of the winter but with this in my shed ready to rock and roll, I say to winter...bring it on!
