5 Star Review   By Charles on Home Depot - Mar 12, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Purchased online, shipped to house. Unpacked and assembled myself with no problems. Filled it with gas and used the electric start. It's a luxury now, since I've started it since then with the hand pull. 2 pulls and it fires right up. Used it on 10 inches of snow and it worked like a champ. Used to own the smaller 18 inch version, but I'm never going back. Did my driveway in 30 minutes versus the hour or so that it used to take.

4 Star Review   By Adam on Home Depot - Mar 3, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This is the first snowblower my wife and I have owned. Being new homeowners, we wanted something that will last a longtime. After much research and reading all of your comments, we purchased this and used it the same night. Took about 20 min to set up and was very easy to do so. Only took about 15 min to blow 6 in of wet heavy snow off our large driveway, and never clogged! The only thing I don't like is that there is no way to turn the chute from behind. But it sure beats shoveling! Can't wait to use it again!

We had two 12" snow storms in a one week period. After the first one, a couple days passed before I bought this Toro, and the snow was wet. But I took just half-width passes and the Toro threw the snow off my double wide driveway without a problem. The second storm was wet snow from the very beginning, and again the Toro did the job. I will likely have to wait until next year to see how it does on dry, fluffy snow. But it will certainly be able to handle that considering how well in did on wet, heavy snow.

I have a large sidewalk and a 2 car drive way , and i am tired of shoveling such a large area , went to home depot and bought this Toro , it was already assembled so while waiting for the check out clerk,I fiddled around and lo and behold it started right in the check out lane that got me a bunch of stares from the check out ladies . but I appoligized. it was light enough to load into my honda CRV and off i went , stopped at the gas station and filled her up. and pulled into the huge drifts at my home, unloaded it and fired it up! WoW !! was i impressed it blew snow all over and never clogs. I had help a friend earlier to clear his drive way with his snowblower and his clogged like crazy.attributing it to the heavy wet snow, But mine just bores into the snow and never bogs down. had the whole area and inside my fence cleared in 20 minutes with no sweat. Will have to use a little more common sense as to where i direct the snow coming out of this machine because i was so excited about clearing the snow that i forgot to close my hatch on the CRV and one pass by it and i deposited a foot of snow inside the vehicle . We also keep our tennis courts clean to play throughout the winter , I cant wait to take it to the park to give it a whirl oh what fun , let it snow let it snow

Put it together in less than 30 minutes. Instructions were easy to follow. Started right up on very cold day with one touch of the button with the cord. Started back up on 2 pulls of the starter handle. Good power in the snow. Easy to push. Good depth down to the surface. Bought online with no hassle at all and at a really good price.

Impressive machine
4 Star Review   By BURGKid on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I replaced a 30 year old TORO snow thrower after it failed to restart after stopping it to talk with neighbors while clearing a recent snow fall. I was having some difficulties with my trusty machine and my wife badgered me to get rid of it! I wanted a TORO to hope get another 30 years so I bought the 621E online. After it arrived the temps rose into the 50 – 60’s so didn’t have opportunity to test drive it! Looking forward to snow forecasted for this weekend! WHAT? Actually had about 1 ½ inches the other night and I had to give it a drive. The 621E worked very well clearing the snow, BUT I didn’t like having to move to the side of the snow blower to adjust the chutes throw direction. I felt somewhat out of control. I will look at fabricating something so I can stay behind the snow blower and in control while adjusting the throw direction. ALSO I wanted to thank another reviewer that commented about the difficult location of the oil fill port. After reading it I went to HF and bought a funnel with a flexible 18 inch long neck for $2 and it worked like a charm! btw - I got my 30 year old one started again and am giving it to my neighbor so he won't ask to borrow my 621E! Or worse ask me to do his driveway!

So Far So Good
5 Star Review   By Steve on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Luckily only 2 snowfalls since purchase. First one was under an inch. Blower took care of it like it was nothing. Next snow was about 2 inches. Cleared an 8 car driveway + walkway in 15 minutes flat.

Cleared a two inch snowfall nicely. Blew the snow several feet and the self propel is awesome! Made it up my steep driveway with ease. The only minor complaint that I have is that you have to move the chute manually. My old snowblower had a lever on the handle that you could use to change direction..

Electric Start!!!
5 Star Review   By Thud on Home Depot - Jan 15, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Easily assembled and quickly utilized for 20" of Utah snow (Jan, 2013). The electric start option is great. Simply plug in, pull the choke, prime, push the button (it starts)...close the choke and unplug. Extrememly easy to use.

5 Star Review   By OhioSnowbound on Home Depot - Dec 29, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

My husbands first words after using this machine: That was fun, love this thing. The first time we used it, the driveway was clear in no time. Plowed right thorough the 6-8" of snow in our large concrete driveway (35' x 125'). Easy to steer, little effort needed, great for anyone with back issues. Loved the electric start, with no battery to ever need replaced. You literally just plug into any extension cord or outlet you have in the garage, push the electric start , then unplug, and go get the job done. The rubber paddles on this model are great, much better than metal paddles on other models. Folds down for easy storage when not in use.

HELPFUL HINT
4 Star Review   By nowwhat on Home Depot - Dec 21, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I can't review the unit yet, no snow, HOWEVER, I can say they need to tell -sell you (or have one handy) a long flexible neck funnel to get the oil in this thing. It is one of the most ridiculous flaws I have seen in design. It seems like it is sturdy unit and will update if it ever snows! HD sales folks, please sell or suggest the funnel to future customers!

Not much use yet but meets expectations
5 Star Review   By Matt on Home Depot - Mar 15, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I previously had a 1982 Jacobsen sno-burst, so this unit is a bit of an upgrade. The unit arrived relatively well packaged and was easy to assemble. I've only used it once for a 2-1/2" snowfall and was very impressed with it. It really did pull itsself ahead and was able to rapidly move through the light snow without issue saving a lot of time over the old unit. I'd like to try it in deeper / wet snow to determine how it does there, but I bought this unit over the 418 to avoid being underpowered. I would have liked the quick adjust chute, but then manual one works fine for the large cost savings between the units. I don't know why the upgraded chute costs $100. The electric start seems fine but I don't require it. I got it so my wife can use it. This unit is pretty heavy compared to the sno-burst and I would imagine the 418 feels a lot lighter. The weight is not an issue in use but it is during transport, climbing up some single steps that I have, and clearing steps. I'm in Kansas City and probably could have gotten by with the 418 except where the snow plow piles deep snow at the curb and sidewalk. I wanted a unit that could handle that so I got this larger unit.

5 Star Review   By Suechu on Home Depot - Mar 6, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Used it on 5 inches of heavy snow this weekend and it worked beautifully. It is powerful, easy to start and easy to manuvre around. My only tiny gripe would be that the handle on the shute that shoots the snow is too short. It could be longer so that it would be easier to turn to shoot the snow in a different direction. But I have to say I am super satisfied about this purchase!

Definitely worth the money
5 Star Review   By Luis on Home Depot - Feb 23, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Although this was a light winter in Elgin, I have to say that this machine was well worth the price. The electric start is a must and definitely worth the extra cost. Starts like a charm. This machine will actually pull you as you as clearing the path. You literally do not have to push it whatsoever. Great great great. The only hang up I have is the difficulty assembling the chute. They really need to come up with an easier way to assemble. Otherwise, a great machine.

Power Clear Snow Blower
4 Star Review   By MAM56 on Home Depot - Feb 16, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

For the price, the snow blower does a decent job when going up and down the edge of the driveway but when I reach the middle of the driveway, the snow blower does not launch the snow 35 feet as advertised. I am forced to go over it again when I am not near the edge of the driveway.

5 Star Review   By Buffalo on Home Depot - Jan 24, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I wanted electric start after the difficulty in starting my prior thrower. Electric start works quite well. Just used thrower to clear a seven inch snow fall plus drifting. It has good reserve power if used as per the instructions. Coming from a two stage thrower, I am pleased that this unit clears all the way down to the pavement. There is much less "after" clean up required.

For 3 - 9" of Snow, It does a good job.
5 Star Review   By cGrPs5879 on Home Depot - Jan 24, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I have a Toro 2 stage snowthrower I bought in 1997. It does an excellent job, but it's big and heavy at 10hp, 28" width and 397 lbs. I wanted something smaller and lighter to handle 3 - 9" of snow. We just had a 5" snowfall and this handled the snow with ease and cut my time in half compared to my 2 stage Toro. The only drawback I saw was that I have a pretty steep driveway and since the 621E is self propelled, it started to pick up speed on the way down the driveway. So if you have a steep driveway you may be better off with a small two stage snowthrower. You can control the speed with these. Also, I spent a little more for an electric start. If the rope on the recoil start on your snowthrower ever breaks, you will always have the electric start, to back you up.

5 Star Review   By aquaman on Home Depot - Jan 24, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I have a 30" x 40' driveway, 100 linear feet of side walk and a 24'x52' backyard ice rink to clear and this little unit is totally up for the job. Easy to assmble (30 minutes), so easy to start by pull that I have not tried the electric start, and actually pretty darn quiet. so far this sucker is a keeper. it's not self propelled so if you are not in reasonable shape it might be difficult to maneuver but for reasonably physically capable it's a good value unit.

Ordered and rec'd in November 2011; no snow to speak of yet so cannot comment on how it handles. Regarding assembly...would have been a big help if they advised what tools to have on hand, was challenging to tighten screws from inside the chute with the phillips I had. Also could they have found a more awkward spot to pour the oil into? Saw a competitors similar model and the area to pour oil into was on top and quite easy...Just sayin'.

Thank God for Home Depot (Big Box Retail)
4 Star Review   By Joes on Home Depot - Jan 2, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I purchased the Toro Power Clear on December 16th setup was easy and it started fine. Two Days later I went into my garage and oil was leaking from it, there was 3 nice size puddles. So I called HD they said to drain the gas/oil and bring it in for either a return or exchange. I went in and did the exchange. Setup the 2nd one and so far it looks good. The deal is for the past 2-3yrs Toro has outsourced the engines to a china manufacturer. Quality has gone down and reliability will not be known for a few more years. After I setup the 2nd machine I called a Toro Dealer who said that the 1st machines oil pan was not tighten all the way he see's this with the ones in sells also. If you buy at a small Toro dealer they will fix it, if you buy at HD just exchange it... It hasn't snowed in Chicago so I will do any update as to the characteristics of the machine later...

Worked Good
4 Star Review   By xfarmer on Home Depot - Jan 2, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I used thiis for the first time this morning and it started up very easy (electric start) and went through the 3" of light snow real easy. It is kind of expensive but comparable to other brands with the same specs. The wheels look cheap like something that would be on a toy. The chute adjustment is a bit of a reach. All in all, this will do the job though.

Waiting for the first snow to see how it performs.
3 Star Review   Home Depot    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Assembly was OK. Needs a right angle phillips head driver to aid installing the chute. Side walls seem thin just looking at them. Oil changes may be a hassle due to position of oil cap-a funnel will be needed. Not as noisy as I expected but haven't run it full bore in snow yet.

I ordered it on line thru Home Depot.UPS delivered in 3 daysThe exterior box looked to be in good shape but when i opened the box up,i noticed there was a small scratch on the red plastic housing caused by what i think was the handle rubbing against it during shipping and the control handle was slightly bent.Is was no problem , I just straightened the handle and finish assembling it.It went together with no other problems We haven't had any snow yet, but can.t wait to use it soon.
