There's Good News and Bad News
2 Star Review   By Manos on Home Depot - May 20, 2013

Bought my unit in January of 2008 and have used it for light duty service since. The basic pump and motor have been fine: pump builds pressure quickly. Pressure switch/ regulator assembly has been replaced twice despite fairly infrequent use. The first time was within the warranty period, the second was recently. The second unit never did shut off the compressor when it should have and I always controlled it by hand. When the second part failed, I went looking for a better part rather than replace it with the same one. The local commercial compressor shop confirmed that the switch that comes with these units is pretty cheap and sold me an obviously more robust part which works perfectly. I've also had to replace the drain valve in the bottom of the tank with a better part. So, I would say it's a pretty good compressor with some cheap parts on it. I can only recommend this unit with reservations: this would be good value for the money in a compressor if it were better built.

This compressor is fairly quiet and no leaks.
5 Star Review   By Pappy on Home Depot - May 14, 2013

The first compressor I ordered had a leakage problem, so I ordered another one. That one worked good, no leaks and was quieter than the first one, due to a larger air filter. It can be made quieter by adding a 6" plastic tubing on the air filter. No problem on returning the first compressor. I am safisfied with my purchase.

4 Star Review   By joeb on Home Depot - May 14, 2013

So far the compressor has performed as I expected, I was surprised it came with the extended drain for the oil,( big bonus) also has site glass and dip stick. I'm using mobil 1 and have changed the oil three times in a short period of time. I do notice a slapping sound but it does not last so I will watch that. Other than that it works good. Had leaks around the regulator which is cheap. Time will tell.

BUY THIS UNIT
5 Star Review   By Rich on Home Depot - Apr 19, 2013

I looked around at a lot of other units. I was reluctant to buy another Husky as my last one not only was noisy it burnt out very prematurely. It was a much cheaper and smaller unit. I'm very glad I decided on this one, its extremely quiet, powerful and does all that I could ask for one to do. I highly recommend it. Just be sure all the parts are there before you take it home.

Good product !
5 Star Review   By Almas on Home Depot - Jan 28, 2013

I was shopping around for inexpensive but still reliable air compressor, At the beginning i was a bit skeptical if it would do the job. I have several box trucks, commercial vehicles. I needed an air compressor producing enough air flow for 3/4 inch impact wrench to take lug nuts off the wheels, so that I could have access to rotors to do some brake repairs. This Husky 30 gal performed really well ! has enough power and not really that loud ! I have it already for about 3 month and use it for about 1/2 a day, 4days a week. So far so good. No issues. Cons: gauges are made of cheap plastic, it has wheels but handle could be a bit bigger and placed further away from the tank, the weight distribution on handle make it feel too heavy and not really comfortable for arms while you roll the compressor. But it does the job. for the money it worth it ! I do recommend !

Disappointing Compressor
1 Star Review   By mgbmike on Home Depot - Dec 27, 2012

Have had this compressor for 3 years, very few hours on it. I have been noticing the "rod knock" sound mentioned in the other reviews at about 80 psi. Noticed that there was some black dust around the belt guard. Removed it, and found that the compressor crankshaft was cracked where the flywheel was attached. Either a mfg defect or an assembly defect - either way completely unacceptable.

Fair Purchase, Didn't Last
4 Star Review   By tls56 on Home Depot - Dec 20, 2012

Bought in May 2010. Added 3yr protection plan. June 2012 noticed it leaking down within 7-10days. Found leak in a top area weld. Protection plan gave me back the purchase price due to cost to repair. Problem, can't get the same one for the same money today. Was good compressor. Hate to see it go. Still in shock. I bet if they had not powder coated the tank, the faulty weld (even looks irregular) would have shown itself sooner. Will proly look at an aluminum tank next time.

Easy set up and break in. I use this a few times a week and always find it with plenty of pressure after sitting a day or so. I did have to tighten a couple of fittings that had minor leaks, but now no leaks anywhere.

3 years and no trouble
5 Star Review   By Chris009 on Home Depot - Jul 19, 2012

This compressor has been very reliable although it may not be the most quiet compressor out there it not that bad. The compressor fills in 3 to 5 min. and runs my 1/2 inch impact gun just fine. This compressor has become on of those tools that you don't think about much because it always works when you need it and those are the kind of tools I like to keep in my Work Shop.

8 years and still running
5 Star Review   By snaproll on Home Depot - May 14, 2012

Bought this compressor 8 years ago on the recommendation of a friend that said his was the quietest air compressor he had ever seen. I have to say, it is really quiet! Oil changes once a year and a regular cleaning of the intake filter have kept mine in top shape. I fully expect this thing to last 30 years.

Well worth the money.

STAY AWAY
1 Star Review   By huskylol on Home Depot - Apr 1, 2012

STAY away from Husky products, they don't back or help you if something goes wrong with them , have one and it won't build enough pressure , get to a point and just keeps running. Called Husky and said to old , only 1 1/2 years old , used so little plastic is still on site glass for gauges. Wouldn't do anything for me, told them i would write a bad review and all she said was okay. So i did , hope this helps.

Better than expected.
5 Star Review   By Andy on Home Depot - Mar 14, 2012

Not having 240 in my shop, I wanted a compressor that would blow out my 5 sprinkler lines without taking me all day, which is the case with my little 12 gal., 1.5 h.p., model, and that would work with a 20 amp. circuit. After checking the reviews on the models avail. in my area I purchased this one, as it had 41 of 46 positive reviews. I had some concerns about the few negative reviews but the store associates assured me that I could return it if there were any problems. It works great! It does have a slight knocking sound under load but so did my old unit that I've used for probably 20 years. It's quieter than I thought it would be and I don't have to chase it around the shop when I'm using it. I've had no problem with it tripping the breaker even with a refridgerator and freezer on the same line. I love the industrial strength hose real that I bought with it and mounted on the wall next to it! I'm very satisfied with my decision to buy this one!

Outstanding Value
5 Star Review   By ChrisK on Home Depot - Jan 17, 2012

I needed a quick replacement for my 40Yr old compressor. Even after reading a few reviews about rod bearing failure, I settled on the VT6315 because of its cast iron oiled pump, compact size for a 30G tank, and the Campbell Housefeld reputation. It's absolutely critical to use type of oil recommended in the manual. The oil drained after a first 30-minute unloaded run turned from clear to dirty grey from microscopic metal particles which is perfectly normal for break in. A 2nd 30-minute run produced drained oil that was almost clear. Charging the tank for the first time was relatively quiet and uneventful. When reaching about 90 to 135PSI (shut-off), some clacking can be heard from the reed valves. Again, this is normal for this type of compressor as the valves slam against the outlet ports. Some costs have been cut but are not a deal breaker. The pressure gauges are cheap, small and hard to read. I replaced them with some 2" gauges from the old unit. The biggest drawback is the location of a little round brass tank drain valve which is only 1/4" above the floor. It's understandable to keep the center of gravity low (a good thing for a wheel-mounted vertical tank), but requires the carefull use of pliers while on your knees to open and close. This should be replaced with at least a hex nut to permit open/close with a small wrench.

Great compressor!
5 Star Review   By Gamefanatic on Home Depot - Jan 15, 2012

I bought this compressor as an upgrade from my portable 17gallon compressor which the motor had failed and have been completely satisfied. I did rig up a better oil drain system as the one that came with mine would drip out onto the tank. I've been running this system for about 2.5 years and have used it fairly regularly for cleaning my driveway, airing up my tires, all sorts of auto repairs, even use it with my sanders when cleaning up engines. My only regret was not getting the 60 Gallon setup at the time, which was less than $50 more. The 60 Gallon wasn't portable and seemed at the time more than I would need... Such is life! :) I wouldn't exactly call this a "portable" compressor. Even though it has wheels it's fairly heavy. I just keep it tucked in the corner of my garage and got a longer hose! Suggest Mobile 1 0w30 or 5w30 when changing the oil.

New Low Price Means New Cheaper Parts!
1 Star Review   By HomeDepotFan on Home Depot - Dec 31, 2011

I had been eyeing this compressor for quite some time because it was exactly what I needed for my garage and the reviews were great. I decided to finally pull the trigger and purchase it this weekend. As soon as I got it home I ran it for the 30 minute breakin period then started pressurizing the tank. After the tank pressure reached about 80 psi the motor started knocking and got progressively louder as the tank pressure built up from there. I evacuated the tank and the motor ran quiet, but as soon as I began building up the pressure it sounded like a rod or piston was going to come through the motor housing. I decided to check recent reviews on the Home Depot site to see if anyone else had experienced a similar issue. I was surprised to see three recent posts about engine knocking exactly like mine. I took the compressor back to Home Depot the next day and explained the situation and my findings. I said I would be happy with an exchange if they would allow me to do the engine breakin at the store. I didn't want to have to lug another compressor home just to see if it worked. They gladly oblidged and 30 minutes later we pressurized the tank only to find that this compressor was reacting in the same manner as the one I had purchased. The Home Depot employees were great and gladly refunded my money. Side Note: While initially trying to troubleshoot this problem at home, my neighbor pointed out that the compressor I had purchased was not identical to the one pictured and described on the Home Depot Site; i.e. the wheels on my compressor were formed plastic and not pneumatic as described on the web site. There were also cosmetic differences which led us to believe that the "new lower price" was possibly due to a change in supplier and/or parts during the manufacturing process. I am sure if you bought this compressor in 2010 or prior it is probably as good as the reviews have it, but something is amiss with this new lower priced version. Home Depot was great about the whole return process so I am still a big fan!! Still on the lookout for a comparable replacement and if they ever get this issue resolved I would purchase the same model again.

Engine Knock
1 Star Review   By Gearz on Home Depot - Dec 28, 2011

I picked up this compressor and brought it home and performed the 30 minute break in and then i closed the bleed valve and after 50 psi the engine started to knock just like other reviews have said so i called Campbell Hausfield and they said that it was probably a connecting rod knock and would have to be repaired.I also called the warranty repair shop and they also said that they were having other compressors with this concern.I ended up sending it back to the store for a refund because i didn't pay for a used repaired compressor i paid for a new one.I am very disappointed after spending all of this time and effort that the manufacture hasn't recalled the pumps and repaired the problem before the customer is inconvenienced.

Best 30 Gal compressor for your money
5 Star Review   By MrWagoneer on Home Depot - Dec 7, 2011

Runs very well, No leaks, Very quiet Compressor only complaint is the plastic belt guard on mine rattled a bit but easily fixed with some bushings I had laying around and now it’s super quiet! If you’re in the market for a Compressor in the neighborhood of 30 Gallon's then I'd suggest you look at this one

Don't waste your time or money.
1 Star Review   By JnBr on Home Depot - Nov 26, 2011

Brought this compressor home and did the 30 minute break in, after this I closed the valve and let it build to pressure. This is when I heard the very distinct knocking that others have mentioned. I figured maybe it was supposed to sound that way since others mentioned it. I used it for about 30 minutes with my Framing nailer and when I went to look it over I noticed rubber from the belt all over it, the belt was getting all chewed up already. I should also mention it kept tripping my 20amp Circuit Breaker that was installed specifically for this thing. I'd say out of 10-15 cycles it tripped out 5 times. For the price paid for this compressor the quality needs to be much better. This compressor isn't worth half of what they are selling it for. I bolted it back to the pallet, loaded back into the truck and back to the Depot we went... thankfully they have an excellent return policy and took it back no questions asked, as if its normal for them to take these things back. ...and so the search continues for a good quality compressor.

Excellent product for the money, runs most tools.
5 Star Review   By James on Home Depot - Nov 25, 2011

I have owned this compressor for a little less than 2 years, it runs flawlessly. Very quiet, the best one ive owned so far. I have no problem running impact tools, paint guns, etc. It is worth every penny I paid for it. And its 110v, so you can plug it into almost any shop, or even in your home/garage. My brother liked it so much that he went out and bought one just like it.

Send year anniversary- still works like new!
5 Star Review   By petew41133 on Home Depot - Nov 20, 2011

This VT6315 Husky CF compressor is great because by standing up it takes up so little room in my tight garage. Never had a problem with 110V. I use it mainly to winterize my 6 zone sprinkler system, fill up tires in the car, blow out dirty equipment and to change wheels. I've had this one for 2 years now and it absolutely looks like new. I'm on my 3rd oil change now, don't be shy about changing the oil with 30 weight compressor oil or Mobile 1 synthetic. Again, an awesome machine.

Does what I need and it is quiet for a 30 gal oil filled compressor
4 Star Review   By Dude on Home Depot - Nov 17, 2011

I wanted a compressor I could use to run the pneumatic tools handed down to me. I needed enough cfm to allow me to rotate tires, work on lawn tractor and Blow out my seven zone lawn sprinkler without the compressor turning on every minute. This unit has done what I needed. This compressor is assembled with metric parts. I added a shutoff to control the air to the hose. This was necessary for blowing out my underground sprinkler. I ran for one hour and changed the compressor oil as recommended. Its on wheels but the unit is still heavy (top heavy) to move other then in an area like a garage floor or large flat hard level surface. I purchased 100' of hose to get to the connection where my back flow is located. Everything worked as I hoped. Note sure why they use an SCFM rating either. This rating is determined by a very specific work environment/temperature for the compressor to operate. Google SCFM to find more on this rating. The water drain valve located on underside of tank could be difficult to access if you can not move the compressor and lean back 10-20 degrees.

Two compressors...two pump rod knocks
2 Star Review   By JRHAWK9 on Home Depot - Aug 21, 2011

After reading all the very positive reviews over the years I decided to pick one up for myself. I got the first one home and do the proper break in of it and it the first time I let it build pressure I hear, what sounds like, pretty distinct rod knock once it got to around 80psi or so. I took it back and got another one. Did the same break in procedure and this one did the same thing. I talk myself into thinking it must be "normal". A few days go by I decide to call the manufacturer's tech line just to see what they say about the "rod knock" noise. They tell me to bring it to a local warranty shop and have it checked out. I bring it there and he agrees that it doesn't sound right either. He then calls the manufacturer directly and they also tell him it should not be making that noise either and I can either take it back once again or he can tear into it to see what the problem is. Everything would have been covered under warranty. I decided that I already took it back once already and I would try a different brand.

5 Star Review   By sundevil32 on Home Depot - Jan 8, 2011

I have been researching air compressors for the last month before finally deciding to go with this one. I almost went with the 26 gallon value pack one for about a hundred less, but after reading all the reviews on that one and this one I figured it was worth the extra cash especially with the 10% military discount. So far so good just make sure you follow the instructions about checking the oil and changing it after the first hour. If you are looking for an air compressor, do your own research, but spend the extra cash and go for this one!

5 Star Review   Home Depot

We build Mobile Service Vehicles for Mercedes-Benz dealers. This compressor has been the standard compressor used on our vehicles for the past 5 years because they perform so well. We used other brands in the past and switched because we require trouble free opperation from the equipment we install. The prior brands just couldn't stand up to the dailey use. The Huskey brand has yet to fail, even after 5 years of dailey use!

Great air compressor
5 Star Review   By Safe on Home Depot - Jun 18, 2010

I am a contractor that uses these air compressors for back-up units for our customers fire systems. We have 6 of these units and they are all being used at this time. They sometimes have to run for long periods of time to maintain a systems pressure. Trust me, we know air compressors, and this unit is a tank. We've tried them all and this unit has proven to be the most dependable, reliable unit out there. If you purchase this unit for your home or light duty, it will last a looooong time.

After reading other reviews we did the basic break-in. We then put this baby to work with a complete motor rebuild. We used a wide variety of tools and this unit kept up with all our needs, performing like a champ. A clear choice for the home mechanic.

great compressor
5 Star Review   By fieronv on Home Depot - Mar 14, 2010

My company uses this compressor for wire crimping and stripping tools. I works so well in an industrial setting that I had to get one for home. This compressor takes the place of a 1 gallon staple commpressor that just did not me my needs. It is fast on filling up and has the capacity to run all the tools I use when working on our air tools. I have not ran any sanders with it but I do use impact, socket, die grinders and greasers. I did buy this as a floor model and saved over 100 dollars.

Basically a Campbell Hausfeld
5 Star Review   By SirWrenchALot on Home Depot - Feb 14, 2010

Just picked this up the other day so I cannot vouch for longevity. I too was looking at a competitors air compressor. The competitors was on sale but their regular price is the same as this is. I liked the fact this has a servicable pump and motor if need be. It also has a slightly higher SCFM rating, cast iron pump, and changable oil. I am the guy who prefers greasable u-joints vs. sealed. The other detail I would like to point out is how many of the large (60 gal. + sizes) run aluminium pumps or are oil free units? The Home Depot where I picked mine up had 4 in stock. While looking at the motor wiring schematic, I discovered 3 had 120/240VAC motors and the other one was 120VAC only. I picked a dual voltage unit. Will add an inexpensive hour meter as a rememinder for maintenence. If I can, I will keep this post updated.

Need a compressor?
5 Star Review   By berlin5 on Home Depot - Jan 24, 2010

Just bought this one 1-20-10. Came with oil, and practically fully assembled. Followed break-in procedure and have since put synthetic oil as recommended. Have used it more in last couple of days than most will use in 6 mos. I'ts quiet, keeps up with all my air tools. Did a ton of comparisson shopping. Best one on the market for size, price, and preformance. It's a Cambell Hausfield product, and made in U.S.A.! At least something still is. Buy it ....you'll like it.

great
5 Star Review   By USMCDEVILDOG73 on Home Depot - Jan 9, 2010

I really love this compressor. Great worker for the money. Was between this guy and other big store brands that start with Cra****** 30 gallon. Choose this one due to higher scfm and that it was belt driven. Only thing I didn't like is that the wheels came slanted on mine. Woulod highly recommend this compressor to anyone

Great Compressor
5 Star Review   By Olds64 on Home Depot - Jan 3, 2010

This is a great comrpessor. I did quite a bit of research before purchasing this compressor. There are a number of features I like about this compressor. 1) It is portable. 2) It runs on 110V AC. 3) It has a servicable pump. 4) It is priced competitively. I considered purchasing an air compressor from Sears; however, their models are mostly non-servicable. In addition, they aren't rated for HVLP guns or DA sanders unless you purchase one of the professional compressors. So far, I've only used and air chuck and DA sander with this compressor. It works well! A DA sander is a tool that uses quite a bit of air consumption; however, the compressor keeps up without any trouble. Overall, this is the ideal compressor for the do-it-yourselfer.

Good buy, but returned for the 60gal one.
3 Star Review   By Freshe5b on Home Depot - Dec 15, 2009

I like it, but its not as portable as it seems. You won't be tossing this in the back of your truck and taking it to the jobsite as you would a horizontal tank. Unless you're firmly intent on staying with 110v, go with the 60 gallon for $399. Night/Day difference in performance, more CMF, same noise level. Make extra sure to inspect everything on the compressor before start up. I did have to add oil (although it included some), and don't overlook the belt tension as I did. Belt lasted through break-in and about 3 on/off trips. Displeased but understanding I opted to get another belt. The factory belt tension on mine was far too tight as noted by previous bolt location, CH sent me a new belt housing within 4 business days. I returned the compressor after a week because of how cumbersome the compressor actually is to move. You'll never pick it up by yourself, you'll never put it in the back of a truck, and once you do get it leaned on its wheels its still quite awkward as the handle does not extend far enough from the compressor. However, with the weeks of research I did, this compressor is an excellent buy if you're stuck with 110v and limited space. On another note, it took me 1 hour with limited electrical knowledge to run 220v as the box happened to be right where I was putting the compressor. I hard wired it, and you can do this with the "portable" one as well. If I had less space and required 110v, I would still have this portable one.

I don't know how I lived without one.
5 Star Review   By friendlynortherlyneighbor on Home Depot - Nov 30, 2009

This is my 3rd compressor and this oil one is quiet in comparison to my oilless one. 6min. to fill and it's a big tank. perfect for use with a 50ft rubber hose and attachments: IR232C impact gun for changing 4 tires quickly - 30 min. with floor jack. air chisel, spray gun and tire inflator produced no problems even if recommendations were a bit above the spec's of this unit. rule of thumb is to always have 50% more compressor power than recommended for attachment head, but with such a large tank i found it more than adequete. it's also continuous duty. recommend $25 husky air filter. remember not to use compressors below -10c. if you don't use it after a week, just discharge and leave drain valve open until next use. great compressor 120v / 220v quiet and a bargain
5 Star Review   By FXDUDE on Home Depot - Nov 1, 2009

Home depot is not the easiest place to get info from, this is listed in some places as 120volt only, others as dual voltage. I would havce to say if you have the room and you have 220v available by th 60 gallon unit for $20 more (399). its and awesome deal. I didnt have the space and running from a generator i needed a 220v that pulls under 10 amps and provides at least 5cfm for my plasma. this is a gargain, every body else charges a few hundred more for an equivelent unit. this is very quite, powerfull enough for most applications, and will last a lot longer than the noisy oiless designs. And it will run off 220 volts or 110. buy it, its great.

Great Compressor
5 Star Review   By demille on Home Depot - Jun 15, 2009

I researched a lot before buying this compressor, and you can't get a better compressor for the money. This particular compressor is manufactured by Campbell Hausfelt, which is stamped right on the tank. The opertators manual is also published by CH. The exact same compressor made by CH costs a lot more, and the only difference is that it is painted blue. This compressor is very quiet and has been able to keep up with all my demands, such as air chisel, spray gun, and nail gun. When running the air chisel and paint gun, the compressor will kick on fairly frequently, but stays ahaid. I wouldn't go any smaller than this compressor if you plan on doing any painting or hammering. The 60 gallon compressor is almost the same price, but I needed portability, which makes this compressor very versatile. My only complaint is that the instruction manual is terrible. You only need it once and then you are done with it though. Like one other review stated, my compressor had an oil check window instead of a dipstick. The manual doesn't mention this and so I had to call CH to ask how high the oil should be on the window when properly filled. Just so you know, the oil is supposed to be half way up the window when filled properly. I would definitely recommend this compressor over the cheaper oil less compressors found at Home Depot, it's well worth the extra money.

Great for a Small Compressor
3 Star Review   By JayUSMC on Home Depot - Apr 20, 2009

I have had this compressor now for about 8 months and it has worked fine for me. It does great for most tasks around the shop and is awsome for running air nailers/tools. The only problem is when you start trying to do auto body work the compressor has a tough time keeping up with a D/A and will not run an in-line dual piston sander with any efficiency at all. All-in-all, it is a great portable compressor. If you are going to be doing any sand-blasting or sanding etc, you would definately want to step up to a 60 or 80 gallon, 5 to 7.5 hp version though. The larger models will deliver 10-15cfm @ 90-135psi which will run nearly anything you could need. Will, in most cases, even run two D/A sanders at once. As for the review stating that this was garbage, I would say to him, make sure you check the oil level before running the motor, and remember, sometimes even brand new stuff is defective, that does not mean that the complete line of products is junk. Things happen.

Tips on the Manual - other comments
5 Star Review   By OKattorney on Home Depot - Nov 20, 2008

This is a really nice a/c. I just wanted to give a heads-up with respect to the manual. My manual says that you have to check the oil with the dipstick, etc. But my model turns out to not have a dipstick. It has a visual indicator below and to the right of where the dipstick would be. If you were in front of the compressor you would not see it. Customer service said they switch engines back and forth on this model depending on which they have in stock (one with a dipstick and one without), but they don't switch manuals. The manual isn't complete, so you just have to use common sense when you read it. I bought this a/c to use an air hammer to break up concrete. Although I haven't done a huge amount of that yet, it seems to work pretty well for that. I got close to buying the 60 gal. one (only $30 more plus putting in 220v) and think I probably should have. The a/c comes on every 3 minutes or so when I'm using the air hammer a lot. But it works OK and once the concrete thing is over it won't matter. It's a very good and capable a/c. It gives the impression of industrial-type quality. I'm very pleased with it. I think the decision between this and the 60 gal. Husky is what you're using it for and whether being able to roll it around is important to you. But if I had it to do again, I'd probably buy the 60 gal. If you buy the 30 gal., chances are you'll be fine with that.

Excellent Machine.
5 Star Review   By Doorx on Home Depot - Aug 4, 2008

I have had mine for years and I really like it. Mine, at that time, came with all the power tools inlcuding a spay gun. I used it to paint my back 9 feet privacy fence with red wood stain. It was done in a few hours and It paid for itself. I never painted with a spray gun before and it was great. Now, I'm using it to paint my kitchen cabinets. Excellent machine.

More for your money
4 Star Review   By CustomLED on Home Depot - Jul 21, 2008

I purchased this product online from homedepot.com and it arrived in a timely fashion and in good condition. Sometimes things get banged around in transit, but this time everything was perfect. My unit arrived with a 30 Gallon tank, not 26 as the website suggests. Even better... It also came already pre-oiled from the factory. Some compressors do not come with oil and require expensive synthetic oil to be purchased and added before first use. That was also nice! Compared to my old 13 gallon direct drive unit, this unit is MUCH quiter. It still is no whisper quiet machine, but for the amount of moving parts it's a very reasonable unit as far as sound goes. The built in regulator is nice, works well. Also runs fine on a 15A 120V circuit. Can be re-configured for 240V, but I didn't feel it was necessary to spend the money on a double pole breaker for this particular unit. So far I'm very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone. Plenty of air in the tank, and keeps up with almost any air tool. I use mine simply to blow-dry electronic components and it keeps up fine. It's basically just an open nozzle I'm using, so the air volume is there.

Excellent For home use
5 Star Review   By eyring2210 on Home Depot - Jul 6, 2008

I have had this compressor for about 6 months now. I have used it with nail guns and air ratchets during the coldest part of the winter with excellent results. I also just finished using it with a sander today when it was 90 degrees for about three hours straight without any issues. As long as you take the time to properly break-in the machine it will work for just about anything. The only thing that I could complain about even a little is that while I was sanding my Dad couldn't get the brad nailer to drive as deep, but that is a pretty heavy load so no big deal. Buy it!!

What a peice of Garbage!!!!!!!
1 Star Review   By DacMan on Home Depot - Jul 2, 2008

Hi everyone, I am trying to warn you of this machine. I is garbage. I bought it the other day. I took my time to read the manual and make sure I understood how to break it in and general maintenance. After I ran it for thirty minutes with the drain valve open I closed it and quickly notice the engine was bearing down. Once the p.s.i. was around fifty it quit turning over the flywheel. I am so displeased. Not only did I spend fifteen $ in gas to get this piece of junk, but now I have to spend the same to get it back. I would have given it zero stars but I was force to give it one. BEWARE!!!

Great compressor
5 Star Review   By NoOneImportant on Home Depot - Mar 2, 2008

This unit is just great. It's quiet, well designed and all the controls are easy to see and access. It is far superior to the "double stack" I had. That one would turn on the moment I began using air. This one has tons in reserve. Honestly, it just looks cool sitting in my shop. Let's face it guys, that IS important! And YES, size DOES matter. This one is big without being unbelieveable. What more could one man ask for?

Great Shop Compressor
5 Star Review   By BigTexB on Home Depot - Feb 15, 2008

I needed a compressor for my garage/shop at home. I shopped around and researched and kept coming back to this one. I bought it and love it. It’s quiet (for a compressor), I can stand next to it and talk to my wife. You can't get this kind of recovery power or low sound with the oil less compressors, don't even bother with them. Just by a quart of compressor oil (or Mobil 1 SAE30) and you're set. It has a built in regulator as well. As for issues, I had none, every thing was included. I changed it over to 220v when I got it home; you just have to remove the front motor cover and change the wire positions according to the diagram on the side of the motor. You will need to splice in a new 220 plug if you switch it over (not included). Starts easy, runs good. Very happy.

It's Good
4 Star Review   By chele on Home Depot - Jul 4, 2007

I bought this compressor for my husband because his very old homemade one finally died. This compressor works real good but it is a little loader than expected. The noise it makes comes from the air inlet. My husband covered it up just a little with his hand and it quieted down a great deal. He is currently looking for a way to make this go away. Other than that it's fine. Builds up air quickly and is easy to setup.

BUILT LIKE A MACK TRUCK!
5 Star Review   By BillyFromPhilly on Home Depot - Mar 30, 2007

Before I purchached this compressorI did a lot of research. I lookrd at all the leading competitors. I found I resounding simularity to one of the most famous names in air compressors. The only thing I worried about was what some people said that it was missing parts or had damaged parts when it was delivered. Not so in my case. It was in first class condition. Ireadily rewired it for 220 voltage and since then, there is nothing it hasn't done perfectly and it'sbuilt like a truck!

HuskyPro Compressor
5 Star Review   By member bellaloki - Feb 14, 2007

Strengths: Great Price, Adequote power for homeowner

Weakness: Not Industrial Strength, Small Tank

Great compressor for the average homeowner who wants a compressor to run tools on a intermitent basis. Much better than the oil-free noise makers. Will last much longer than the oil-free compressors also. I only wish it had maybe a 40 gallon tank for more air storage, but the smaller design makes use of my limited garage space.

Beware!
4 Star Review   By chris2 on Home Depot - Dec 2, 2006

I would like to start by saying the only reason I did not give this product 5 stars was because of the workmanship of the product not the product itself. The first one I bought, I had to replace the pipe from the tank to the presure switch because it was bent and cracked. When I fixed that I started it up and it had a terrible rod nock. I took it back and had to go to three different home depots to find one that the box was not totally destroyed and missing parts. When I got this one home I had to thread tape all of the fittings the manufacturer had put together beause of leaks. after all of that it turned out to be a great compressor, It just seems to be an awful lot just to purchase an air compressor.

I'm impressed
5 Star Review   By PaulT on Home Depot - Aug 17, 2006

I've had this compressor 5 days now. It hasn't failed a task I've asked of it, including some sandblasting which it's technically not rated for. I'm very impressed by this unit, especially at this price. Make sure you get all 4 bolts for the handle, first one came with only 2, they broke quickly and compressor fell on it's guages. HD replaced it immediately with no question.
