It does what it says
4 Star Review   By Chuck on Home Depot - Mar 6, 2012

I purchased this unit in August 2011. I had a problem getting one wheel on and had to take some parts off to get it on properly. I used it camping in September and it worked great. Just loud as others have stated. It has now been to NASCAR twice, November and March. It worked great both times. Putting it away after NASCAR in March one wheel fell off. What a pain.

Homelite 2250/2800 Works as Advertised
4 Star Review   By 5thWheeler on Home Depot - Feb 10, 2012

Got to have a funnel with a long twisting end to negotiate around the oil filler. The wheels were a little difficult to snap on by hand. At the same time, I didn't have a problem with them falling off as others have stated. I made sure the choke was on and with one pull the new generator started right up. It's a little on the loud side, but I parked my car between the generator and my 5th wheel RV which helped stifle the noise. Had no problem listening to the TV with the generator running. I used my 700watt microwave, refrigerator, lights, ceiling fan, and TV with no problems. I wish the wheels were a little larger, and the weight was lighter. It is difficult to roll around on the ground unless it is on pavement. There are definitely quieter ones out there, but for the price this one delivers.

Nice compact generator
5 Star Review   By ZipZap on Home Depot - Jan 4, 2012

So far so good. It was easy to assemble out of the box. The wheels are small and will have trouble going over anything other then a smooth surface (driveway or sidewalk). Started right up and runs fine. Only downside is you only get 2 outlets but that is all i needed it for.

Fair
2 Star Review   By Bob1 on Home Depot - Dec 22, 2011

The first unit that I received arrived damaged with the air cleaner cracked and dangling. HD replaced it cheerfully. The second unit also had a dent in on the corner but I accepted it. I like the compactness of the generator but overall the quality is not what I would expect from Husky. The fuel valve is very flimsy. It takes 8-10 pulls to start and when it runs the vibrations cause the unit to move around on my cement garage floor. It does the job but I am disapointed with the quality.

Homelite 2250 watt Generator D.O.A.
1 Star Review   By Danny on Home Depot - Dec 5, 2011

New, out of the box, it would not generate any electricity. The circuit breaker seemed faulty. Also the motor was very noisy for such a small generator. Home Depot refunded my money with no hassle.

Good value
4 Star Review   By MrEd on Home Depot - Oct 19, 2011

Only used her 2 times in the last few months. Started right up, after 3 pulls, when she was new(after oil & gas of course). About a month or so later she started up on 2nd pull. I wish the wheels were at least an inch bigger.

Nice size for wattage
4 Star Review   By Raplh on Home Depot - Sep 27, 2011

I have not used this generator much but so far has worked fine. The generator is a managable size for the wattage it produces. A major problem was installing the wheels. The retaining clip must be installed completely from underneath the unit. Following the directions does not help.

High Quality at a good price
5 Star Review   By GCAT on Home Depot - Sep 27, 2011

The Good: The unit is high quality, easy to operate, and fires up on the 2nd or 3rd pull, and very reasonably priced. Two weeks after receiving the unit the power went out for a couple of hours. The unit fired right up, and powered the refrig, sump pump, and a light. Just make sure you have plenty of long extension cords handy. The Bad: It came in a box that had been soaked, but the unit was protected in plastic, and had only minor cosmetic ding/dent/scratched from being shipped in a box that was starting to fall apart. The Ugly: As per previous reviews, the wheels like to fall off easily. The C clips used to hold the wheels on seem to come off easily, so I used a cotter pin to hold the wheel in place.

This product ran my refrigerator, TV and a few lights for me with no problem.
4 Star Review   By French on Home Depot - Sep 21, 2011

I ordered this unit after Irene knocked out the power in my area, the utility company told us that we would not have power for a week, so I thought we might receive this before power was restored, I was correct I recieved this three days after my order and used it before power was restored. The box looked like WW III when I received it via UPS, it was packaged in its original store box and not in a shipping box, no damage to the unit when I unpacked it. It went together easily, and started on the first pull. The unit was a little noisier than I had hoped, but still accetpable. I had the same problem as I read from other readers, the wheel fell off, but was easy to fix, the retainer clip needed to be seated and the wheels stayed on. Oil came in the package, I had to add two oz of additional oil, and gas and it was ready to run. Next time the power is out we will not be throwing away any food! Overall I am very happy with my purchase, an am glad I will not have to stress out over the next outage.

Ease of use
5 Star Review   By NorthEast on Home Depot - Sep 20, 2011

I had this generator operating within 10 minutes of opening the box (fluids included in box!); that includes reading the quick start up guide. Started on the second pull. Can't go wrong with a Subaru engine. Very reliable and strong. This genrator takes the wattage without hesitation. Save yourself the hassle of buying from another company.

Pull string broke before I could start the unit
1 Star Review   By Robert on Home Depot - Sep 11, 2011

With a Subaru engine I had high expectations. After all, it is a Chinese product with an upgraded Japanese engine. After adding oil and fuel, I pulled, and the handle broke off of the pull string. When this happened the pull string wound into the engine cover and I was unable to retrieve it. I quickly returned the generator to the store and got a full refund. If you choose to buy this product, I hope you have better luck than I had.

Great investment at a great price
5 Star Review   By Jaden9698 on Home Depot - Jun 13, 2011

Got the generator delivered to my home. Took about 1 hour to unpack, put the wheels on, assemble the tow handle, put oil in the crankcase and put 2 gallons of gas in the tank. In the same time, I was reading the operating instructions and making myself familiar with the generator. 1st pull..............it started. How wonderful! ****To those of you that just recently purchased generators make sure you start them once (1) a month.****

I like this generator!!!
5 Star Review   By Scooter127 on Home Depot - May 31, 2011

I bought this generator about 2 months ago,Yes the wheel will fall off if not put on correctly, but I have mine off cause I have my generator inside a small sound proof house also known as a dog house anyways I put synthetic 4 stroke oil for motorcycles in it I don't like reg motor oil I use only synthetic its the best for all motors,so I plugged my fridge in the is not energy saving at the least every time it cranks up it pushes 1200 Watts then drops to 500 Watts to 300 Watts then 110 Watts until it goes off this cycles about every 15 min anyways I was very surprised to see that 2 Gallons of gasoline lasted 8HRS Approx!!! This generator is more than expected ! Thxs Home Depot!

OK for what it is
4 Star Review   By Patrick12121 on Home Depot - May 28, 2011

Item was received damaged, but I decided to deal with it. Wheels are too small to roll over anything except flat pavement without dragging a bunch of dirt. Starts very easy, but is anything but quiet.
