Affordable & Easy
5 Star Review   By Larry P on Norwall PowerSystems - Aug 11, 2014

Norwall has made it affordable and easy. I placed my order online using Pay Pal for payment it was fast and easy check out. Received my generator 9 days later by UPS freight and placed generator on awaiting slab same evening with help from my friend and his excavator. I am a licensed electrician so I installed my own 6244 generator, completed all connections gas / electrical lines and testing on Saturday. Lost utility power on Sunday and my Generac generator operated exactly as it should by providing hours of power. Well I am no stranger to Generac generators I have installed many in my area over the last few years. I will recommend anyone looking for generators and generator products to buy at Norwall. Thanks.

Easy to Install and Quiet Unit
5 Star Review   By Kevin on Norwall PowerSystems - Jun 10, 2014

Customer really liked the look of the unit, I liked how easy it was to install. The unit runs pretty quiet, you can still hear a faint rumble in the house but it's better than not having power.

5 Star Review   By Ron A. on Norwall PowerSystems - Feb 9, 2014

We wanted a "whole house" generator that would handle our entire house. We chose the Generac and we chose Norwall and we couldn't be happier. A really great product from an even better company. Fast, easy shipping and unbelievable customer service and support. We will add a generator to our beach house next year and it will be from Norwall.

I have installed 2 of these at different locations, the first is in WV, at a house miles from anywhere, power goes out there regularly and the generator has not failed for more than 4 years of use.. great product. Second one installed in VA, it too is reliable. recommend the remote monitor, worth the money not to have to go out and check status.

Outstanding!!!
5 Star Review   By Bond on Norwall PowerSystems - Jan 29, 2014

We recently moved to a rural area of Southern Louisiana where we felt a standby generator was a must have. After much research, we decided on this unit from Generac. The price and service we received from Norwall was outstanding and it is assuring to hear our new generator power up every Wednesday morning. I would use this company again and recommend it to everyone.

Very Pleased With My Purchase!
5 Star Review   By Phyllis V. on Norwall PowerSystems - Dec 8, 2013

I have had this generator for over a year now and it has been very dependable. My rural power comes from an electric co-op and the outages are unpredictable. It is hooked up to my propane tank nearby. It always preforms when I do experience outages. I highly recommend owning one.

Great Product and easy to set up
5 Star Review   By Kirk M. on Norwall PowerSystems - Dec 1, 2013

As a builder in the Oklahoma area I have a number of customers who request standby generators to keep power on after severe storms that are common to our area. We've been using this unit exclusively for over two years and have never had an issue. They are easy to install and this package is a great value compared to what I can get this for locally, and the shipping is always super fast from Norwall, so we are able to ship directly to the job at the completion of the home. If you are a builder the one thing I would recommend is buying a transfer switch up front and then ordering the package and take that transfer switch out for the next house. This way you can install the transfer switch at Electric installation post frame and then wait to deliver the unit at or near the job completion so the unit isn't sitting there during construction. We actually keep two transfer switches in rotation this way as it's soooo much cheaper to buy this package over the transfer switch and generator separately.

5 Star Review   By William Mihal for W & P Enterpri on Norwall PowerSystems - Nov 20, 2013

I have installed Generac standby generators in the past and finally decided to install one for myself. I am very satisfied with the quality and price for this unit the 20 KW and 200 Amp transfer switch. The unit offers reliability and product support at the top of the chain compared to some of the other manufacturers. I would recommend these units to everyone.

Reliable Standby Power for a Reasonable Price
5 Star Review   By Brian Librino on Norwall PowerSystems - Nov 20, 2013

I am an electrical contractor who has installed 100's of generators over the past few years. It is my opinion that Generac makes an excellent product that combines excellent features for a good consumer value. I get asked all the time what is better, and my response is, Generac has been a consistently reliable product for me to offer my customers. I have to stand behind the product I provide and if I had a lot of problems I would certainly look to other manufacturers. Generac provides a good network of support for the equipment they sell. Other's tend to isolate their products from being serviced by other than a select few and make parts availability even more difficult. All things considered Generac is a good product for the contractor and the end user.

Had ours over a year and a half.........OUTSTANDING!
5 Star Review   By Nancy on Norwall PowerSystems - Nov 14, 2013

The best purchase we have ever made. We have had numerous power outages due to storms, broken power poles from accidents on the highway... etc. It has functioned with absolute reliability. Runs our whole home, the 220 well pump, and our barn. We live in a very rural area, and repairs can be a long time coming, and with this we can have heat, AC, television, internet, and go right on with living and taking care of our horses and all the things one takes for granted when the power is on.... You will LOVE this unit.

Good Product, Great Service
5 Star Review   By Michael Somers on Norwall PowerSystems - Nov 4, 2013

This is the generator to get if you want whole home protection. It is bundled with the proper service rated transfer switch. Fast shipping - ordered on Sunday night and was delivered by Thursday afternoon. UPS Freight delivery was very friendly and called the day before to set up a delivery time window. Delivery driver used pallet jack to put into our garage and waited for us to unpack it to make sure nothing was damaged and everything was there. Moving the generator to it's installation place was not easy. You will need several strong people and/or heavy/special equipment as this weighs over 450 pounds. I would strongly recommend having a qualified and experienced electrician help with the electrical hookup, preferably one who has installed one before. It took 2 people (my self and the electrician) a good 4-5 hours to do all of the electrical hook up. Another major factor to consider is making sure you have the proper amount of gas flow. You will most likely need to upgrade your piping or install a new line to a generator of this size. See the Generac sizing guide for more information. The generator comes factory configured for natural gas. If you are going to convert it to LP, like we did, make sure you are pressing down on the orange knob and turning it in the right direction at the same time. Initially we tried just turning it and it would not budge, after a call to Generac support the conversion was easy after learning that we needed to push down at the same time as turning. Both Generac and Norwall support were very helpful and promptly answered my questions. Came with a free Mobile Link and $100 Home Depot gift card. I would also recommend the cold weather kit (Norwall also sells these) if the generator will be installed in a climate where temps regularly fall below 32F.

No other logical choice than Norwall and Generac.
5 Star Review   By Matt P on Norwall PowerSystems - Oct 10, 2013

I purchased a 20Kw Generac from Norwall about a year ago. First let me tell you about Norwall. Very fast turn around on the order. Once the order was placed I received a call from UPS freight within 2 days to schedule a delivery. The following Monday ( 3 days later ) UPS arrived and delivered an un-injured generator. After gas hook up but prior to house connection we had a 4 day power interruption with over 13 inches of rain. Thanks to the side outlet and some extension cords my sump pump, refrigerator, TV, and some lights plus my neighbors sump pump continued to work. Since then this machine has kept us going through 4 separate outages. Thanks Norwall.

Works like it is supposed to
5 Star Review   By spaul40 on Home Depot - Jun 5, 2013

I purchased this product and have had it installed. Total cost of installation was $1,200 for electrician and permit ($250). The propane company installed a tank, put a 40 foot line in and delivered 100 gallons of propane for $600. The unit works just like it is supposed to work When the power drops out, the unit waits approximately 10 seconds, starts itself, and about 10 seconds later, it picks up the load of the entire house. conversely, when the power returns, the unit stays on generator power for about 10 seconds before it switches back to utility power. It then runs the generator for about 60 seconds to cool the unit and then shuts off again.

Glad I Bought It!
5 Star Review   By John M on Norwall PowerSystems - Apr 13, 2013

This was a great investment for me and our home. The shipping was lightning fast and the system wasn't that hard to hook up. After hooking it up and testing everything 3 days later the power went out in my neighborhood and within 20 seconds I was up and running with my new Generac generator smiling and comfortable! I will say this just for safety caution - unplug all your computers, TVs, stereos, etc.. when testing you could buy these items again like I did. Other than that it was great!

True peace of mind and a great value
5 Star Review   By Paul on Home Depot - Apr 6, 2013

I had one of these units on my home in Southeast Texas during an extended outage caused by a hurricane. The system performed flawlessly for days on end. It was so nice to have air conditioning, be able to wash and dry clothes, and not have the inconvenience and waste of spoiled food in the refrigerator and deep freeze. The generator required very little interaction during the extended run time except for the addition of oil, which we expected. I can't say enough good things about Generac or their products!

20K Generator
5 Star Review   By Chuck on Home Depot - Jan 29, 2013

Installed and running for 2 weeks. Be sure when you get activation code ask for instructions to enter code into machine. Transfer switch does not include any load sensing modules for adjusting the running load. When power goes out 10 to 15 seconds later the unit starts and runs if left in auto mode does shut down when power restored.

Generac 20kW Generator Excellent Dallas TX
5 Star Review   By JimCC on Home Depot - Dec 21, 2012

I've had this unit for 2 years. We had a short summer outage and the generator kicked in 15 seconds. Total time about 30 min. It was about 100 outside, so our AC units were all running. The transfer switch never had to shut any of the 3 units down. Yesterday we had a wind storm that broke our neutral service line from our Electric provider Oncor at the pole. The voltage dropped enough the Generac kicked in and ran about 24 hours before Oncor arrive to repair their line. The unit worked perfectly, had full power and the transfer switch worked as supposed to. Its December, so we were only pulling about 15 amps. I highly recommend this unit. Good quality & value. It kept us cool in the summer and should work well if we have an outage from our usual ice storm every 3-4 years. The unit gives us good piece of mind and a retreat for our neighbors if they need one. Thanks Generac.

Good So Far
4 Star Review   By busboy on Home Depot - Dec 11, 2012

Haven't had occasion to use it yet. But it did work when I cut the power to the house for a few minutes. It goes through it's weekly exercise cycle dependably. A bit noisy when fully cranked up. I would recommend finding a local installer or at least getting prices for the install plus the gas line. You need to be sure that there is enough gas volume available. This generator uses 295000 btu per hour so you need to have that much + whatever else you plan to use.

Failed twice when we needed it
3 Star Review   By MFROMNJ on Home Depot - Nov 28, 2012

Rating the Generac 20KW generator is something of a problem because I have nothing to compare it to. Most reviews here seem quite happy. My experience has been less so and I think my ratings are fairly generous. We had the Generac installed by an authorized Generac dealer. The work was done to code with township permits and duly inspected and approved. The gas meter was upgraded to support the load. In short, all the work was done to spec. We have had it less than a year, so it is still under warranty. The first time we needed the generator, it kicked on but failed to transfer power to the house. The installer came out and checked it, offering the opinion that the circuit board had an intermittent fault. It could not be reproduced and we fought long and hard with the dealer to have the board replaced - which they finally did. Things went well until Irene struck the east coast. Just over 2 days into running the generator and it failed again. I tried calling the company that installed it, but they were unreachable. I called Generac and got the name of another authorized installer who I could reach and who did come out the next day, diagnosing the problem as a broken throttle controller. (The guys who came out told me it was the second one they encountered that day.) Unfortunately, they did not have a replacement part. They did, however charge me $166 for an emergency visit. I had agreed to this, thinking that since I could not reach my installer, I better go with someone I could reach. And anyway, Generac would reimburse this...right? (They did not. They told me they do not reimburse for emergency service.) Their visit was not a total waste, however. See workaround below. And there was no charge to replace the part when it did come in. Further adding to my grief, it took 10 days for the part to be delivered. During that time, my power had been restored, I had ordered something from CA that made its way to me in NJ in 3 days. Why it took 10 days for a part to come from WI to NJ I can only guess, but it does not leave me with a comfortable feeling for the future. So, about $10,000 later we have a generator that we will never really trust and I wound up spending another $1000 for a backup backup generator. One of my friends also purchased the same unit. He was told, as we were, that they can burn up to a quart of oil per day. I have not seen that issue at all. My friend's unit is too new for him to have any experience with it yet. Since the throttle control was replaced, the generator worked fine the next time we lost power for a few hours. But I did not try running any heavy appliances. I really wanted to like this product. And if it had performed flawlessly, I am sure I would be rating it with five stars across the board. But two failures in less than a year and needing to wait over a week for parts is really just too much. Still, without knowing anything about other products out there I do not know if there would be another product that I would have been happier with. Workaround: The problem with the throttle controller is that it is intended to keep the motor running very close to 3600 RPM. The amount of fuel needs to be adjusted to meet this as the electrical load rises or falls. In fact, I was mostly able to keep the generator running for a few hours at a time by manually working the throttle plate to keep the motor from stalling while we got to a balance with the load in the house and the motor speed. Once set, I would use a wire to keep the throttle in place and make only minimal variations in the load, a few lights on or off, etc. No heavy appliances. Ultimately, the generator would shut down for either overspeed or underspeed conditions and I had to do the whole thing again.

Exactly what we needed
5 Star Review   By RBJ0111 on Home Depot - Nov 26, 2012

This unit is so quiet - right outside our kitchen window, and no noiser than our a/c condenser unit. The auto switchover is a must, only a 10 second delay and all power is restored. We are in a rural area where power interruptions are frequent, and this is a lifesaver. very competive pricing, too.

easy to install
5 Star Review   By higg on Home Depot - Oct 28, 2012

I have never installed a standby generator before, the instructions were easy to understand. My gas line is on one side and my electrical panel is on the other side of the house, So run gas line around or electrical line around, I ran the electrical line around. The transfer switch was very easy to install, the instructions made it very clear. Setting the unit up was very easy with step by step instructions on the panel. the system works flawless. 15 sec. after the power is out, power is back on again. I will never own a house without a standby generator again.

Great peace of mind.
5 Star Review   By Bryan on Home Depot - Aug 30, 2012

After going through Hurricane Gustav in 2008 and losing power for 2 weeks I decided to get this 20kw generator about six months ago. After getting it installed We lost power only once for about 2 hours. Yesterday Hurricane Issac hit. It has been running for nearly two days nonstop without any issues. I can run everything in my 3000 sq. ft. home. It is well worth the investment, I should have done this years ago.

GREAT GENERATOR
5 Star Review   By baldylocks on Home Depot - Jul 29, 2012

I purchased from Home Depot. Great price and got very good information on this unit. it arrived in perfect condition. my home 1800 sq ft and all recommended 15kw . i went with this 20kw glad i did. run entire house as i had extra refridgerator and freezers. This unit very quite as i live in subburb where home is 30 ft apart. my neighbors cannot hear it nor can we. it fully automatic and never notice any change when comes on and off. it test itself weekly in which you program that in. It very nice outfit. I poured concrete 5x5 pad for 300 dollar then ran 32 ft 1 1/4 gas line to handle 194000 btu that cost 750 dollars. Then had it wired in that was 1500 dollars. I bought 26r battery for 100 dollar and it very tight fit. i put my post out towards the outside. hope all this helps..

A Must Have
4 Star Review   By Jones123 on Home Depot - Jul 24, 2012

After having a HD rep try to sell me this I decided to go to my local HD and pick one up. I called a local certified Generac Installer insted of using HD's installer and saved half of a fortune. It took them one full day to install. My power went out for a day three days after I had it installed. Let me just say this....it worked flawlessly in 100 plus degree weather.

Great!
5 Star Review   By stino on Home Depot - Feb 21, 2012

First time installing. Did not know what to expect. Wired transfer switch according to instructions, set generator on pad and followed start-up procedure. Wow, it ran perfectly. No adjustments were needed, 1 by 1 we added loads until all were on. Now when power goes off in 10 seconds generator starts and 5 seconds later our lights and critical circuits all come back. When utility power is restored, in 1 second power is transferred back and generator goes into a cool down period and shuts off awaiting next fail. Exceeded our expectations. We love it. Can't wait till next power failure. Mike - Blakeslee, PA

Great piece of mind purchase!
5 Star Review   By ametric on Home Depot - Feb 13, 2012

Although I have yet to have a outage since installment, I feel confident that my unit will kick in and power my whole house. We had an outage the week before I had my unit wired and plumbed in that lasted 36 Hrs. Wish I had gotten it done sooner. Here are a few things I learned, hirer a electrician! I'm a mechanic by trade but after seeing the way the electrician did the wire install I was amazed. I'm sure my install would not been as nice or reliable? The plumbing is pretty straight forward. I have my unit in a remote (cold) location and they recommend a cold climate kit. Have your electrician rewire the 110 outlet inside the generator cabinet to the house power. Then buy on line a battery heat blanket a long with a 75 watt engine oil pan heating pad. They also sell on line a thermostat 110 volt outlet to plug the 2 heat elements into. You can buy the 3 pieces on line for about half of the recommended kit. I have a 200 watt service panel in my house and the unit comes with a 200 watt transfer box but the generator only has 100 watt service breakers. No problem as long as you don't have every electrical unit in your hose turn on at the same time.(every light, A/C, Furnace, hot water heater, well pump, etc) If you do the only problem is that you will pop the 2-100 watt service breakers in the generator.

This is a great product
5 Star Review   By MisterEd on Home Depot - Nov 23, 2011

We purchased our generator after the recent hurricane and assumed we would have plenty of time to install the unit before the next power outage. With the generator sitting in place (but not hooked up) we experienced a freak October snow storm and a power outage. Within 24 hours of the power outage we had visited Home Depot (they had power) and obtained the few items we needed to complete the installation and had power again. Our next door neighbor ran an extension cord to our house to borrow power for his refrigerator and freezer. The rest of the neighborhood was without power for 48 hours. This unit runs our entire house with no problems. From inside the house we would not have known there was a power outage if it weren't for the few hours we spent outside completing the installation process.

I am the envy of the neighborhood!
5 Star Review   By Joemac on Home Depot - Nov 7, 2011

Purchased the 20Kw unit after hurricane Irene. Freak October snow storm put us out of power for (7) additional days, but this time we had the generator. Powered the entire house (sump pump, 3-refrigerators, furnance, dehumidifier, well pump, hot water heater....) simuiltaniously on startup without a blink! Burned 30-35 gallons per day of propane....so you can do the math on that cost.

Nothing to complain about...
5 Star Review   By Justb on Home Depot - Nov 1, 2011

Delivered in a timely manner (10 days) though I believe I was expecting it in around seven. I found through multiple estimates that it is cheaper to buy the unit yourself and then have it installed rather than get it through a thrid party. I finally had it installed for about $1900 which was far less than any other estimate I had been given. Unit works well... I had 2 small problems with the install but I am very happy with the product. Now I can count on the power not going out for at least a few years.

Generac Shipping Problems

We received the wrong unit from the Generac warehouse, but we contacted The Home Depot customer service and they handled the problem quickly. We now have the correct unit and are very pleased.

Good Price & Unit Works Well
5 Star Review   By Bill on Home Depot - Sep 22, 2011

Excellent unit. Works well with both AC units running, oven and electric dryer on. I do have a complaint re the install manual. The manual is confusing and not model or transfer switch specific. I had 3 electrician friends install it. The control wire N1 N2 & T1 is very poorly covered. Generac needs to review their install manual. Other than that, the unit is great.

Generator
5 Star Review   By jocat on Home Depot - Sep 15, 2011

The generator was delivered within a week after ordering. We went to the freight company to pick it up, though, because they wouldn't be able to get into our yard space with such a big truck. Very easy to order. I needed to find out what model the transfer switch was before ordering, and the Home Depot person was able to get that for me - after calling Generac direct! That was service above and beyond!

Very reliable standby generator.
5 Star Review   By Shelton on Home Depot - Sep 6, 2011

This system works great. Three days after installation we had a lightening strike near by which created a power failure. Within 10 seconds we had full power restored, including our air conditioning. Sure felt strange when we looked outside and saw other homes dark and ours was functioning normally.

Three outages and flawless so far
5 Star Review   By Nuclearheli on Home Depot - Aug 30, 2011

Last outage Hurricane Irene. We are from Jersey and power went out quickly and stayed out for a long time. This was the third (also the longest) outage this summer so far. Ran like a champ never missed a beat. Whole house was lit up, AC ran and very important, my 220 Gallon Reef tank / Salt water aquarium never felt a moment of pain.

Great generator up to 2 years, after that you are on your own
1 Star Review   By Shelby on Home Depot - Aug 25, 2011

This unit was installed by our local electrician back in 2008. It provided ample power for our home for 2 years without fail and we actually looked forward to bad weather. Unfortunitely just after 2 years during a power failure the unit did come on automatically just as it always did, however the generator was no longer producing power. We contacted the local electrician that installed it and he tested the unit and confirmed the unit was no longer producing power. After reviewing other consumers comments it appears that Generac has a history of their generators failing to produce power, which for the money we shelled out we were expecting a longer life span from this generator, at least longer than 2 years. In total this generator has run time total of 3 weeks over the 2 1/2 years, which is equally disturbing. When this generator worked it was exciting to hear about a storm, but now we are powerless and it has been almost a week since contacting Generac and the unit still has not been looked at by a Generac repair person and could be several more weeks and we have another storm expected in a couple of days. Generac does not seem to be standing by their standby generator after their waranty expires. I am hoping that a generac repair person can get this unit working again soon without breaking the bank. Hopefully we can get many more years out of it, but uncertain about that at this time. The first two years owning generator i would give it a five star ratting. This years rating i will put it at a 1. Depending on the when and how much it will cost to fix it i will re evaluate this rating. Stay tuned for my 4th year owning this units review. Owner of a Powerless producing 2 1/2 year old generac 20kw generator in NH.

Worth it!
5 Star Review   By k4ea1 on Home Depot - Feb 10, 2011

Bought this 20Kw in late 2007 and had it professionally installed as part of a home improvement/addition project. Literally the day after installation we had summer tornados blow through and knock out power and downed a record number of trees with record rain on top..Upon power failure the Generac came on line in about 8 seconds.... Power was out for three days. The Generac ran for three days powering everything we needed (and next door neighbor plugged in as well).. Many of our neighbors basements flooded and caused big time damage. This product is worth the price for piece of mind. I do recommend the maintenance package to assure best long term performance. The bi annual package (oil change, spark plugs, battery check etc) costs around $400 a year. The unit itself runs a tad louder than my AC compressors. Absolute no- brainer if you can afford it.

Generator installation
5 Star Review   By RTDT on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2011

After much research, I discovered the Generac stand-by generator system was the best product at the best value. According to the Electrician who helped me install this unit, I believe Generac may manufacture many of the other models out there. After helping install this unit, I believe an above average home owner could handle this process but for me it was worth having a professional involved. Everything has checked out though we have not needed it's service yet. Great peace of mind having this equipment in place especially because we have GeoThermal heating and cooling in a rural location. Average warranty period compared to other products.

Generac 20KWautomatic generator
4 Star Review   By bev60 on Home Depot - Dec 28, 2010

Had a rocky start, 1st power outage the Gen ran 5 minutes and quit. Called my installer( he came over on sunday) checked things out and told me to call the factory authorized service/repair man. Two days later the service man checked things out and said he had to order a new control (brain) . It arrived in 5 days as promised and was installed immediatley. It works fine, glad the power outage was only 8 hours. I feel a little bad because we're kind of hoping for another outage to test it. If not for the slight incovenience we would have rated 5 stars. PS both of my installers have the Generac 20 KW automatic.

Home Generator
5 Star Review   By SEEC on Home Depot - Nov 16, 2010

I would highly recommend this product - we have not experienced a power outage since it was installed but upon testing I could see that within a minute of disconnecting the power the unit started up and powered the house as if the electric was still on - there is an outside outlet that we plan to let the neighbors run a cord for their fridge in the event of a power outage (neighbor friendly generator!) you can choose certain breakers to be shut down first in the event of an overload, but I expect this unit to power the entire house without an issue - excellent support from the mnfc - best price anywhere @ Home Depot!

Great automatic backup generator
5 Star Review   By ausside on Home Depot - Nov 1, 2010

After flooding our basement when the power went out while we were gone, we decided we needed an automatic backup generator. This unit is capable of supplying our whole house. It has been great to have the power go out and after a few seconds the genator starts and we have power again and no more flooding. As soon as the utility power comes back on, the generator transfers off line, cools down and shuts off. Great product at avery reasonable price.

Generators
4 Star Review   By VisionaryElectric on Home Depot - Aug 5, 2010

The last post was not totaly correct. These generators nees 294,000BTUs of natural gas at full load. A basic residential gas meter puts out only 250,000 BTUs of gas. To be within code the meter must be able to keep up with the total demand of the home. Heat, Cooktop, water heater, gas logs and so on including the full load of the generator. Please let a professional who knows the local codes and is licensed and insured do this install. You may regret it later when you need warranty work or worse yet your generator doesn't run when you need it most.

Generac 8375 20KW/18KW
4 Star Review   By StormPrepared on Home Depot - Jul 26, 2010

Pros: Bought on-sale with free shipping. Perfect size for a whole house generator. Compatible with residential natural gas meter. Aluminum, insulated enclosure. Package comes with whole house 200 Amp Service Entrance rated transfer switch. Transfer Switch includes terminations for thermostat wire for 2 A/C units to safely turn them off if generator overload condition exists. Home Depot ships drop gate to your door. Cons: Transfer switch sheds all load shed module specified loads (2 AirCond. plus 4 optional) at once then starts them up 1 at a time- would be better if shed 1 at a time until overload condition is eliminated. Transfer switch max knockout size is 1-1/2 inch- my set up required a 2-1/2 inch knockout for conduit. Be prepared for electrical, plumbing, and building permits- be willing to deal with those headaches and open hands (fees). Unless you're an electrician, you'll have to have it installed by one- download owners/installation manual before purchase if in doubt of complication. Shipping company goofed 3 times before they finally delivered it from their local depot (2 days from WI to LA, 7 days & 3 goofs from depot to house ~26 miles away)- wished I could have just picked up at local Home Depot although it did arrive within Home Depot expected delivery time.
