Seems to be a very good product...
5 Star Review   By JC501 on Home Depot - Apr 2, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Decided to put this flooring down one weekend after reading the rave reviews (for the most part). Ordered on line and it came in a timely manner. To my surprise it was even double boxed and nothing damaged, which was a concern of mine after seeing the cartons in the store. As with any thing I do the first time around installation was fairly easy overall. I will be doing my downstairs kitchen in this soon and the next install will go easier. Make sure to have plenty of sharp blades, a good pair of straight shears/snips will help you with cuts. Word of warning....once you stick this to the other piece and you decide you need to move it be careful and slowly pull it back apart!! Once this stuff hits together it's sticking! Time will tell on durability but I have to say it looks better than the our ceramic tile upstairs!!

Great product for the price
4 Star Review   By NewFloorGirl on Home Depot - Jan 13, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We installed this today in my kitchen. We did 6 boxes in about 8 hours. We had to make lots of cuts around cabinets and door frames so I think it took us longer than average. If you had a perfectly square room and didn't have to cut anything, then this would be amazingly easy to install. In our case, it was relatively easy to install and it looks great. Considering how affordable this product is, I am really happy. However I do think you get what you pay for, because we had a couple of issues. I would still recommend the product and I'd buy it again. Our issues were: * If you don't have strong hands or good arm strength, then this product is really hard to cut. I could not do it myself (I'm a fit female, but I didn't have the strength). * It says you have 10-15 minutes to un-stick the pieces and reposition them. This is sort of true, but they are VERY hard to peel apart pretty much immediately after you stick them together. Also they kind of peel the skin off your fingers. * The printed grout lines vary in width somewhat and even though there are little lines to guide you, not all of the little lines are oriented right. If you happen to put multiple pieces next to each other that are off, then your pattern is going to be off and the grout lines don't line up exactly. * 2 of the 6 boxes I ordered arrived smashed by the freight carrier. The product was cracked and broken so I returned it to my local Home Depot store. They shipped me replacement boxes with free expedited shipping but that still took a week. My advice for special orders of this product is order extra boxes and return what you don't need to the store. That way if a couple boxes show up destroyed, you won't have to wait for replacements. I calculated that I would need 6 boxes but next time I'd order 8 and just return the extras. * If you are spatially challenged and your room has lots of angles and things you have to cut around, then you are probably going to cut them wrong. You have to make sure the sticky parts are on the correct sides for every piece and it can be a little bit confusing.

Easy to install and affordable
4 Star Review   By Landlord on Home Depot - Jan 2, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I have installed tile and linoleum floors but for the walk in pantry I was working on I wanted a cheap, easy to install but decent looking floor. Floor was easy to cut with shears and easy to join together. Be warned that it is tough on the hands to cut so if your hands are not strong you may need someone else to cut. Here are the problems I ran into: The sample piece that we got prior to buying the product was just one area of the tile and did not show the whole color of the simulated tile floor so it was not a good example of the main color represented. Since the edge adhesive is already exposed, you cannot dry lay the floor to see how it will look as it will start to stick to the other sheets. This is more of an issue when laying the tile floor as you want to centralize the tile in the room and it is easier to do this via seeing it than calculating. When attempting to readjust a sheet that may need an adjustment because it did not lay right, it is very easy to rip the backing that joins the sheets together when you try to pull them apart - it warns you of this in the instructions. For one part of the floor I had to use tape on the underside of the sheets to reattach part of the backing that ripped when readjusting a sheet. The sheets are set to overlap in one direction this means that for small filler spots at the edge of a room you can end up with a lot of waste. I ended up cutting and prying the back off of some cut pieces so that I could use them in the filler spots rather than cutting a whole new sheet to make the small pieces. The grout line in the tile floor sheet was narrower than my actual tile floor grout line so the tiles to the pantry door are offset a little against the kitchen floor tile.

This product is easy for the DIY person if they take their time and keep the sub floor clean and smooth and the adheasive strips clean or covered with paper. This product cuts easy with a sharp razor knife, tin snips, and a multi-tool. I have completed my small bathroom, and I am so pleased I will use this product for the master bath.

Installed in walk out over old Asbestos glue down tile. Looks very good/excellent. A pretty simple install- even though room angled in multiple directions. Excellent in a modest size room with average or lesser traffic. Would not use in a kitchen or busy hall- very happy with it. Have install ULTRA withj clic n loc- this is not anywhere near as good but it is excellent stuff for the price.

5 Star Review   By Eyris on Home Depot - Sep 25, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

They say you can only have two out of three, but I think this product is all of the above! I have installed Allure in many areas now and still love it after 4+ years! This tile one is especially nice for kitchens and bathrooms, where I've used it, but I can see it in laundry rooms, entryways, mudrooms, screened-in porches, sunrooms or basements, too! Super easy to install: I used a metal yard stick, a pencil and a razor knife with plenty of fresh blades (trust me you are doing yourself a favor to change/flip your blade every few rows or so!) I also used double-sided vinyl floor tape to hold my first row in place while I worked, since it is a floating floor. This stuff wears great, too! Hides dirt or the occasional scratch if you're hard on your flooring due to pets, kids, parties, etc. I vacuum or sweep mine and then mop every so often. Swiffer Wet Jet works great on this floor, too!

I ordered this flooring online and it was delivered free within 3 days (by Fedex) right to my front door. The packaging was excellent as the manufacture's box was packed in another heavy shipping box with 2 inch foam to protect the edges from damage. It was much easier to install than 12" x12" tile and looks great!

The printed grout lines aren't great.
3 Star Review   By TheContrActor on Home Depot - Sep 18, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

It goes down like a charm. The surface of the "tiles" looks great! Amazingly like slate or natural stone. But the light gray "grout lines" are really thick. Nearly 1/2", and they just stand out. I would give this product 5 stars, otherwise. I had to tear it out because the client just hated the grout lines. They are okay, but you have to get used to them. I understood why my client hated them.

Solid Product
5 Star Review   By Mike on Home Depot - Apr 2, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I just installed this product in a 6ftx7ft bathroom this weekend. Initial review of the packaging...well protected on all sides with rigid foam, tightly packaged. I was surprised at how heavy the boxes are (8 pcs to a box). The thickness is about 1/8" which is at least double what standard lenoleum sheet would be. As for the install, 2 boxes covered what i needed but without error. I did make a mistake of cutting off the wrong edge which ecentailly wasted a whole piece!! uggg.....anyway cutting with a razor blade is a little tough but what would you expect with 1/8" thick material? Dont complain about it, if you want an easier cut go with standard sheet lenoleum. I used a jigsaw for doing the rough cutting at the walls and around the toilet drain flange which will get covered later by the wall base board & toilet itself. Be sure to acclimate the product in the room for a few days. I found the adhesive VERY sticky and no issues bonding. The instructions said to use a heavy 75 pound roller to seat the seams together. I didn't have one and didn't want to take the time to go rent one for an hour so I grabbed my 16pound bowling ball (HAHA) figuring that the focused weight on the radius of the ball directly on the seam with my weight on it would be pretty good enough. I think it did fine from what I can see, all the seams layed flat. As for my error mentioned previously, you can actually cut a reverse overlap and peel apart the layers. This is difficult to explain here but you should see what I mean if you have the product. overall great commercial quality

The planks have only been down a couple of days and everything looks great. I have not experienced any of the problems some of the users have mentioned (smell, tiles coming unglued, etc.) The instillation was a easy, though I had read and re-read the PDF file on instillation a couple of times before starting. So far we are more than happy with the product.

Everybody Thinks It's Tile!
5 Star Review   By decormom on Home Depot - Jan 7, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

We put this floor down in our mudroom over a concrete base. My husband chose it for the flexibilty (great for unlevel floor surfaces), durabilty, and ease of install. I chose because I wanted the gray slate color. My husband installed in a few hours (120 sq ft.) and no one can believe it isn't real slate/tile. It's great because it hides the mud/snow remnants of New England weather and cleans up quick. I am sending this site to my friend because she plans on installing it in her bathroom over an existing floor.

Looks great in our bathroom
4 Star Review   By sarahbeth on Home Depot - Nov 9, 2011    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

My husband and I installed this flooring in our bathroom a couple weekends ago. It looks very nice and was easy to lay down. I notice that after a couple weeks it has shifted ever so slightly as it has settled and as we have been walking on it. (The grout lines that looked about perfect when installed are off by a millimeter here and there) I had installed new plywood underlayment and then used some featherfinish and some silcone to fill in gaps. The one thing about this product that was difficult was cutting it. Scoring and then "snapping" as the instructions suggested was not quite working, so my husband had to use quite a bit of elbow grease to cut fully with a blade. I wonder if a multi-function tool attachment or a linoleum cutter would work, but we just played it safe with the razor. The difficulty was most evident when cutting for the toilet flange area. Still, the total installation time took us one afternoon and we are very pleased with the result - much nicer looking than our old linoleum.

This is an extremely nice product that is twice as thick as regular vinyl flooring. The 12" x 36" size plus the interlocking glue strips (they glue to each other, not the floor) made for a very easy and professional installation by myself. I even used the Customer Service number before I started and they were extremely helpful in clarifying how to begin the first row.

Easiest Flooring I have ever used.
5 Star Review   By WarmHomeHappyFamily on Home Depot - Nov 30, 2010    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I am by no means a carpenter, but this flooring is the easiest. I just finished pulling up carpet and replacing with laminate wood flooring. That was a job. However this flooring I used in my kitchen and it lays easy, cuts easy, and looks great. I have already showed several of my friends and family, my sister is using this in her bathroom and a friend of mine is using this in her sunroom. This flooring is durable and is very adhesive. I have two dogs and four kids and there has been no damage to it. I would recommend this to anyone with small children, animals, or anyone that just...........doesn't have a clue. This is so easy my 7 year old was able to help me. THanks for such a great and easy product.

It was a breeze to order on-line and the shipping cost was covered by Home Depot. The flooring arrived via UPS w/in the week. We are thrilled w/ our new kitchen floor. It's beautiful !

4 Star Review   By AnOhioGuy on Home Depot - Aug 24, 2010    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I was nervous to purchase tile online without having seen it in person, but I am very pleased with what arrived. The photo is very true to life, and the tile itself looks even better in person. I used it for a bathroom, and it has come out beautifully. I was able to lay it right over the existing linoleum flooring, without having to rip it all out. The interlocking makes this very easy to lay, and no mess with glues. The one issue I did have was cutting. It's very thick, and difficult to cut... especially if you need to go around odd shaped objects (such as a toilet). But, I'd still recommend this tile to anyone. The quality and feel of the tile is also great. If I had a choice to try again, I'd still pick this tile.

Not for bathrooms

Tried to install this in bathroom -- too bulky to fit/cut for a toilet. Good for rectantular/square room with straight cuts. Had difficulty cutting through with a single edge razor. Am going to use this in my breezeway (square area). Would be very easy to install there.

Beautiful Tile
5 Star Review   By Bunks on Home Depot - May 26, 2009    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I moved into a new apartment and the kitchen floor needed to be replaced. These flooring tiles have just the right amount of blue-gray-brown to compliment my love for slate. I ordered two boxes and one entire box arrived with the same broken corners on all tiles and this was not noticable at all by the exterior of the packaging leading me to believe the damage happened in the warehouse and not in shipping. This made the job more challenging but the end result was gorgeous. I purchased extra blades as recommended by another reviewer and this is a must to get the job completed with cleaner edges and a bit quicker. I also used dabs of tile cement to ensure these never shift. It's been a week of hot weather here in NYC and the flooring makes my kitchen look like a showroom. These are a little more expensive than other tiles but the quality is worth it.

So far so good....definitely love it.

After excessive amounts of online research and reading and re-reading hundreds of reviews and onine posts, I decided to order this flooring from my local store (it is cheaper to have it shipped to the store) for my kitchen/dining area. You can actually borrow the sample boards of any of the patterns made by the manufacturer at your local store and they can order the product for you and load it in our vehicle when it comes in. I was self installing (had previous experience installing self stick vinyl tile) but mostly a very basic do it yourselfer, no expert here :) I purchased a new knife and a packet of titanium blades. Definitely get the titatnium as they stay sharp longer and you will be changing blades quite frequently. I also got a square to make very straight cuts and used my tape measure. We love the flooring so far. It looks great, no not like real tile, it is obviously vinyl but the colors in the patina are wonderful and the slightly raised pattern helps to hide any imperfections, such as shiny marks or scratches. I specifically chose this pattern because it would mask any wear and tear and with three kids and 2 dogs there is going to be wear and tear. I, like other reviewers, have had some shiny marks where things have been dragged on the floor (had a new stove installed and installers were not as careful as I would have liked). I have found that any vinyl floor has this "shiny mark" issue. Any of the vinyl's I have used before with the self stick tile anyway. I would have to say install was not a breeze per se, but it was not bad. I had a big area to deal with and two rooms converging into each other so I had to really plan out where to start. I also was going over hideous old ceramic tile so I had to put a leveler on all the grout marks (you will too if you are using this over ceramic tile, the instructions clearly state this). Cutting it was not a problem as long as you keep using a sharp blade. I installed in the beginning of January when it was VERY cold out but I kept the house heat kicked up into the 70s. I also used a hair dryer on the edges to really gum up the glue for a good stick. I did not roll the seams but used a tamper we had in our garage. I covered up the heavy square bottom with a very plush old towel and just pushed it around over the seams. As it has been nearly three months without a problem of lifting seams, I think it worked quite well. There are some very small gaps between the seams in some areas. Again, this is an issue I have had with self stick tiles and even with our solid wood floor. There will be gaps as it is the nature of beast (if cut outer edges are off by anything, even a millimeter, or a slightly unlevel area, or a plank could be off by the merest fraction of a mm by the manufacturer.....). It took me a good three solid days of work but then again I had to prep my exisitng floor first and I had kids to deal with so I had to take breaks somewhat often oh and I had ALOT of cutting because of the layout of the two rooms. ALOT. But it really turned out great. I love the floor so much more than my old one and I am the only one who notices the tiny imperfections :) It is quiet to walk on and so much warmer than the ceramic tile we covered up. I actually would like to do a bedroom in one of the wood patterns eventually. I would post a picture if I could.....
